in the big city of Murukaṉ Pūṇṭi where vaṭukar whose bad body-odour spreads to a distance, live.
கொடுகு வெஞ்சிலை வடுக வேடுவர் விரிவலாமை சொல்லி
the vaṭuka hunters who have cruel and bent bows, speaking unfriendly words.
திடுகுமொட்டு எனக் குத்தி
wounding frightening, and rebuking authoritatively travellers by saying tiṭuku and moṭṭu.
ஆறு அலைத்துக் கூறை கொள்ளும்இடம்
is the place where they plunder on the highway and rob travellers of their clothes.
இடுகு நுண்இடை மங்கைதன்னொடும் (1) எத்துக்கு இங்கு இருந்தீர் எம்பிரான் நீரே

speaking harsh words, inserting a small sword in the waist and wearing a torn cloth.

getting a share of the things robbed on the highway

Don't you know even a little about the way to eat receiving alms given by the inhabitants of the village who have lost their senses listening to your chanting?

with a lady wearing on her breasts ornaments and who embraces you.

you rejoice in hearing the music produced in the large hemispherical loud-sounding drum, this tuntumi which is beaten and sound in produced, tattaḷakam, Koṭukoṭṭi and Kokkarai which produces sound with breaks.
பொட்டு அலர்ந்து மணம்கமழ் முருகன் பூண்டிமாநகர்வாய்

you rejoiced in placing on one side the chaplet of white crescent which you wore on your head.
மோந்தையோடு முழங்குஅணா முருகன் பூண்டிமாநகர்வாய்
in the big city of Murukaṉ pūṇṭi where the sound of montai (a kind of drum with one face) and the roar of the hunters never cease

with the help of the ten verses which were composed by Nampi Ārūraṉ who is a votary of Civaṉ by his devotion.
