{$} முஞ்சியிடைச்சங்கம் ஆர்க்கும் முதுகுன்றரே
Civaṉ in Mutukuṉṟam where in a kind of grass known as muñci conches make a loud noise.
(1) நஞ்சி
languishing.
இடை இன்று நாளை என்று உம்மை நச்சுவார்
the devotees who desire you thinking that the god will grant his grace today or tomorrow.
துஞ்சியிட்டால் பின்னைச் செய்வது என்
if they die in that hope what is the thing that you can do to them.
அடிகேள் சொலீர்
my deity! please tell me.
பஞ்சியிடப் புட்டில் சீறுமோ
will the hard shell of a cocoanut used as a vessel break if it is crammed with cotton!
அருள் பணியீர்
bestow your grace quickly.

வாரிக்கண் சென்று வளைக்கப்பட்டு வருந்திப்போய் மூரிக்களிறு முழக்கு அறா முதுகுன்றரே

you wander when devotees sing your fame and the celestials praise you.
(1) பண்டு, அகம் தோறும் பலிக்குச் செல்வதும் பான்மையே
is it proper for you to go to every house to receive alms? in the past?

கண்டகர் வாளிகள் வில்லிகள் புறங்காக்கும் சீர்மொண்டகை வேள்வி முழக்கு அறா முதுகுன்றரே
the Lord in Mutukuṉṟam where the sound of the famous sacrifices where ghee is poured by the hand and which is guarded by people who hold daggers, big swords and archers!

what is there for you to do in the next birth for those who praise you in this birth?
விளைப்பு அறியாத வெங்காலனை உயிர் வீட்டினீர்
you destroyed the life of the cruel god of death who did not know the result of his action.

the Lord in Mutukuṉṟam surrounded by gardens on which crawl clouds which cover the storeys, walls of fortification, beautiful towers and beautiful halls.
அடியாரும் நீரும் அகம் தோறும் ஆடிப்பாடி அசைந்து படைத்தபொருள் எல்லாம் உமையாளுக்கோ
is all the wealth that you and your devotees earned with great effort, by dancing and singing, only for Umaiyāḷ?

the Lord in Mutukuṉṟam where in the frontyard of the houses of the women of the Kuṟavar tribe female elephant feels compassion as the lion had carried away the male elephant for its prey!

செட்டி நின் காதலி ஊர்கள் தோறும் அறம் செய
when your loving wife who is thrifty performs charity in every place.
அட்டுமின் என்று சில்பலிக்கு அகம் கடைதோறும் (1) நிற்பதே
is it proper for you to stand before the entrance of every house for a small quantity of alms, begging, give me alms
பட்டி வெள்ளேறு உகந்து ஏறுவீர் பரிசு என்கொல் (ஏ)
what is the nature of yours who rides with joy on a white staying bull which cannot be controlled.

the Lord in Mutukuṉṟam where the river, Muttāṟu which grants salvation, goes from left to right, and dashes against the banks when the waves are rolling on all sides!
எத்திசையும் திரிந்து ஏற்றக்கால் பிறர் என் சொலார்
what is the thing that others than devotees will not pay, if you receive alms wandering everywhere without excluding any place.
பத்தியினால் இடுவாரிடைப் பலி கொள்மினோ
Kindly receive the alms from those who give it with love.

{$} முத்தி முத்தாறு வலம் செயும் முதுகுன்றரை
on the Lord in Mutukuṉṟam round which the river Muttāṟu which grants salvation goes from left to right!
பித்தன் ஒப்பான் அடித்தொண்டன் ஊரன் பிதற்று இவை
with these songs which are the pratings of nampi ārūraṉ, who is a slave to the feet of the Lord and who is like a maniac.

to those who are able to praise the Lord.
தத்துவஞானிகள் ஆயினார் (ஆக)
whether they possess knowledge of the ultimate realities.
தடுமாற்று இலார் (ஆக)
whether they are steadfast in their love towards god, without wavering.
எத்தவத்தோர்களும் (ஆக)
whether they be doing any kind of penance to obtain knowledge of the ultimate realities.
இடர் இல்லையே
there will be definitely no sufferings.
