எறிக்கும் கதிர் வேய் உதிர் (1) முத்தமொடு ஏலம் இலவங்கம் தக்கோலம் இஞ்சி செறிக்கும் புனலுள் பெய்து கொண்டு
having poured into the water hoarding up pearls which drop from bamboos and have shining rays, cardamon, cloves, cubeb and ginger.

திளைத்து எற்று
dashing against the bank without ceasing
சிற்றாறு அதன் கீழ்க்கரைமேல்
on the Eastern bank of Ciṟṟāṟu.

Civaṉ who is different from this world and who remains in Veñcamākkūṭal where started stags live and where the indian cuckoos perching on the mastwood tree which has a curved trunk and leaves that can be broken, feted cassia, and common delight of the woods, cry without ceasing!

குளங்கள் பலவும் குழியும் நிறைய
to fill many tanks and pits with water.
குட மாமணி சந்தனமும் அகிலும் பெய்துகொண்டு
storing up in the water moving to and fro, big gems found in the west, sandal wood and eagle-wood.

சிற்றாதுஅதன் கீழ்க்கரைமேல்
on the eastern bank of ciṟṟaṟu.
வலம்கொள் (1) மதில் மாளிகை கோபுரமும் மணிமண்டபமும் இவை மஞ்சு தன்னுள் விளங்கும் மதி தோய் வெஞ்சமயக் கூடல் விகிர்தா
Civaṉ who is different from the world and who remains in vencamākkūṭal where the moon that shines in the cloud touches the wall of fortification of beauty, mansions, towers and beautiful and square or rectangular halls with flat roof.

வரைமான் அனையார்
ladies who are like the deer that live in the mountain.
மயில்சாயல் நல்லார்
who are as tender as the peace cock.
வழவேற்கண் நல்லார்/ பலர் வந்து இறைஞ்ச
and many ladies who have eyes like the sharp vēl to come and worship by bowing before god after taking a bath.
திரைஆர் புனலுள் பெய்துகொண்டு மண்டித் திளைத்து எற்று
storing up many things offered by them in the water full of waves, flowing swiftly and dashing against the banks without ceasing.
சிற்றாறு அதன் கீழ்க்கரைமேல்
on the eastern bank of ciṟṟāṟu.
நிரை ஆர் கமுகும் நெடுந்தான் தெங்கும் குறுந்தாள் பலவும் விரைஆர் பொழில் சூழ் வெஞ்சசமாக் கூடல் விகிர்தா
Civaṉ who is different from the world and who is in vencamākkūṭal surrounded by fragrant gardens which are cool as areca-palms which grow in rows, cocoanut trees with long trunks and jack tree with short trunks are mixed!

{$} பண் நேர் மொழியாளை ஓர் பங்கு உடையாய்
Civaṉ who has as a half a lady whose words are as sweet as melody types.
படுகாட்டு அகத்து என்றும் ஓர் பற்று ஒழியாய்
you do not leave the attachment towards the cremation ground, always.
தண் ஆர் (1) அகிலும் நலசாமரையும் அலைத்து எற்று சிற்றாது அதன் கீழக்கரைமேல்
on the eastern bank of the ciṟṟāṟu which dashes against the bank without ceasing and causes to wander back and forth cool eagle-wood trees and defectless yak tails.
மண் ஆர் முழவும் குழலும் இயம்ப
muḻavu on the head of which a pasts is smeared for toning it, and flute being played on.
மடவார் நடம் ஆடும் மணி அரங்கில் விண்ஆர் மதிதோய் வெஞ்சமாக் கூடல் விகிர்தா
Civaṉ who is different from the world, and who is in veñvamākkuṭai which has beautiful stages in which ladies dance and which are so high as to touch the moon in the sky!

துளை வெண்குழையும் சுருள்வெண்தோடும் காதில் துளங்கும் படியாய்
god who has a form in which a white men's ear-ring with hole and white women's ear-ring with rolls are moving in the ear hanging low.
(1) க(ள்)ளையே கமழும் மலர்க்கொன்றையினாய்
God who wears koṉṟai flowers which spread the fragrance of honey!
கலந்தார்க்கு அருள்செய்திடும் கற்பகமே
God who is like the divine Kaṟpakam tree to people who have approached him.
பி(ள்)ளை வெண்பிறையாய்! பிறங்கும் சடையாய்
God who has worn a young crescent and who has a shining caṭai!
பிறவாதவனே
one who is not born like mortals!
பெறுதற்கு அரியாய்
one who is difficult to get!
வெ(ள்)ளை மால்விடையாய்
one who has a big white bull!
வெஞ்சமாக்கூடல் விகிர்தா அடியேனையும் வேண்டுதியே

Civaṉ who is easy of approach to people who worship him!
துயர் தீர நின்றாய்
you were always their companian for their sufferings to go away from them!
சுரும்பு ஆர் மலர்க்கொன்றை துன்றும் சடையாய்
Civaṉ who has a caṭai which wears the koṉṟai flowers on which the bees hum loudly!
உழுவார்க்கு அரிய விடை ஏறி
who rides on a bull which is difficult to get for people who plough fields! (ஏறி is a noun)
ஒன்னார் புரம் தீ எழ ஓடுவித்தாய்
you caused the fire to spread and engulf the cities of the enemies!
(1) அழகு ஆர் முழவு ஆர் ஒலி பாடலொடு ஆடல் அறா முதுகாடு அரங்கா நடமாட வல்லாய்
God who is capable of dancing in the cremation-ground using it as a stage where the music of the beautiful muḻavu and vocal music and dance never cease!

Civaṉ who flayed frenzied elephant with must-fluid!

God who is capable of dancing in the standing posture waving the fire, using the scorched cremation-ground as a stage!
நரைஏறு உகந்தாய்
god who desired a white bull!
நல்லாய்
god who is good-natured!
நறுங்கொன்றை நயந்தவனே
god who desired fragrant koṉṟai flowers!
படம் ஆயிரம்ஆம் பருத் துத்திப் பைங்கண் பகுவாய் எயிற்றோடு அழலே உமிழும் விடஆர் அரவா
god who wore poisonous cobras which spit fire through their teeth which are in the wide open mouth and have angry eyes and big spots in the thousand hoods!

கதிர்மாமணி சந்தனமும்(ம்) அரிலும் கேடன் உறையும்(ம்) இடம்தான் விரும்பி
desiring to enter into the lower world where cētāṉ dwells, carrying big gems emitting rays, sandal wood and eagle-wood.

on the eastern bank of the ciṟṟāṟu which dashes against the banks without ceasing.
பாடல் முழவும் குழலும் இயம்ப
the muḻavu and flute to be played as accompaniments to vocal music.
பணைத்தோளியர் பாடலொடு ஆடல் அணா வேடர் விரும்பும் வெஞ்சமாக்கூடல் விகிர்தா
Civaṉ who is different from the world and who remains in veñcamākkūṭal desired by hunters, where the vocal music of ladies who have shoulders like bamboos, and their dances never cease!

Civaṉ who wears on the chest a garland of koṉṟai flowers full of honey!
கொடுகொட்டி ஓர் வீணை உடையவனே
who has an instrument called Koṭukoṭṭi and a vīṇai!
பொங்கு ஆடு அரவும் புனலும் சடைமேல் பொதியும் புனிதா
the holy god who contains in his caṭai an angry and dancing cobra, and water!
புனம் சூழ்ந்து அழகு ஆர் துங்கு ஆர் புனலுள் பெய்து கொண்டு மண்டி
flowing swiftly holding into the excellent and beautiful water, the produce of the forest tract, surrounding the forest region (துங்கு-துங்கம்)
திளைத்து எற்று சிற்றாது அதன் கீழ்க்கரை மேல்
on the eastern bank of the ciṟṟāṟu which, being full of floods, dashes against the banks without ceasing.
வெங்கார் வயல் சூழ் வெஞ்சமாக் கூடல் விகிர்தா
god who is different from the world and who is in veñcāmakkutal surrounded by fields which have an odour caused by fresh water let into them when they are parched and hot

வஞ்சிநுண் இடையர், (1) மயில் சாயல் அன்னார், வடிவேற்கண் நல்லார் பலர் வந்து இறைஞ்சும் வெஞ்சமாக்கூடல் விகிர்தா அடியேனையும் வேண்டுதியே என்று தான் விரும்பி
Civaṉ who is different from the world and whom the ladies who have a small waist like the rattan of South India, who are as tender as the peacock and who have eyes resembling in shape the sharp vēl, bow prostrating himself desiring to be admitted among one of his devotees.
வஞ்சியாது அளிக்கும் வயல் நாவலர்கோன்
the chief of the inhabitants of nāvalūr which has fields whivh yield produce without disappointing farmers.
வனப்பகை அப்பன்
the father of vaṉappakai.
வன்றொண்டன் சொன்ன செஞ்சொல் தமிழ்மாலைகள் பத்தும் வல்லார் சிவலோகத்து இருப்பது திண்ணம் (அன்று, ஏ)
It is a containty that those who are able to recite the ten garlands of verses which were composed by vaṉṟoṇṭaṉ, with words which have their direct primary significance, will dwell in civalōkam
