{$} செண்டாடும் விடையாய்
Civaṉ who has a bull that ruins all things;
[[கொண்டாடுதல் புரியா வருதக்கன் பெருவேள்வி கொண்டாடுதல் புரிந்தான் (Cuntarar tiruccuḻiyal, 9)]]
சிவனே
Civaṉ!
என்செழுஞ்சுடரே
my dazzling light divine!
(1) வண்டு ஆரும் குழலாள் உமை பாகம் மகிழ்ந்தவனே
who rejoiced in having Umai who has tresses on which bees swarm, on one half!
கண்டார் காதலிக்கும் கணநாதன்
the chief of the hosts of pūtams who has devotees who have obtained a vision and are warmly attached to you.
எம் காளத்தியாய்
our Lord in Kāḷatti!
அண்டா
one who dwells in the great cosmic space.
உன்னை அல்லால் அறிந்து ஏத்த மாட்டேனே
I would not praise any other god, esteeming them as god, except yourself.
[[மாட்டேன் (ஏ) is used in the sense to certainty (தேற்ற ஏகாரம்)]]

{$} இமையோர் நாயகனே
the master of the celestials who do not wink!
இறைவனே
Civaṉ who pervades everything!
என் இடர்த்துணையே
one who helps being my companion when I am undergoing sufferings to relieve me from them.
கமை ஆர் கருணையினாய்
one who has grace with forbearance.
கருமாமுகில் போல் மிடற்றாய்
one who has a neck like the big sable cloud.
உமை ஓர் கூறு உடையாய்
one who has Umai on one half!
உருவே
one who has visible forms!
திருக்காளத்தியுள் (1) அமைவே
the fullness in Kāḷatti!
உன்னை அல்லால் அறிந்து ஏத்தமாட்டேனே

{$} படை ஆர் வெண் (1) மழுவா
Civan who has a white battle-axe as weapon!
பகலோன் பல் உகுத்தவனே
who caused to shed the teeth of the sun-god!
விடை ஆர் வேதியனே
who is the brahmin, who is seated on a bull!
விளங்கும் குழைக்காது உடையாய்
who has in one ear the shining mens' ear-ring.
கடை ஆர் மாளிகை சூழ் கணநாதன் எம் காளத்தியாய்
our Lord who is the master of Pūtams in Kāḷatti surrounded by mansions which have beautiful entrances!
உடையாய்
who has all things including myself as his possession!
உன்னை அல்லால் உகந்து ஏத்த மாட்டேனே
I would not definitely praise any other god esteeming him as great, except yourself.

{$} மறி சேர் கையினனே
Civaṉ who holds in his hand a young deer.
மதமா உரி போர்த்தவனே
who covered himself with the skin of a frenzied elephant!
குறியா
the object of worship for all people
என்னுடைய குருவே
my preceptor!
உன் குற்றேவல் செய்வேன்
I would do menial service to you.
நெறியே நின்று அடியார் நினைக்கும் திருக்காளத்தியுள் அறிவே
the pure knowledge in Tirukkāḷatti, on whom your devotees meditate being steady in the proper manner
உன்னை அல்லால் ... மாட்டேனே

{$} திருக்காளத்தியாய்
the Lord in Tirukkāḷatti!
நான் அடியேன் நலம் ஒன்று அறியாமையினால்
I, your devotee did not know without knowing what is good for me.
செஞ்சேல் அன்ன கண்ணார் திறத்தே கிடந்து உற்று அலறி நஞ்சேன்
I became feeble weeping aloud being in the company of women whose eyes are like the red variety of carnatic carp

துஞ்சேன் நான் ஒருகால் தொழுதேன்
I worshipped you at times without being lazy.
அஞ்சாது
without fear.
உன்னை ... மாட்டேனே

{$} (1) செய்யவனாகி வந்து
coming as an impartial person.
பொய்யவன் நாய் அடியேன் புகவே நெறி ஒன்று அறியேன்
myself who is a liar, and a devotee like the dog do not know the way to enter into everlasting bliss.
இங்கு (2) இடர் ஆனவை தீர்த்தவனே
God who removed the sufferings of mine and admitted me as your protege!
மெய்யனே
who is the embodiment of truth!
திருவே
my wealth!
விளங்கும் திருக்காளத்தியுற் ஐய
the master in renowned Kāḷatti!
நுன் தன்னை அல்லால் (3) அறிந்து ஏத்தமாட்டேனே
I would not definitely praise others esteeming them as gods, except you.

{$} காதன்மையால் கழற்போது அறியாத கடியேன் என்னுள்
in the mind of mine who is hard-hearted and does not know the greatness of your feet which are like flowers, by warm attachment.
குடியாக் கோயில் கொண்ட குளிர்வார் சடை எம் குழகா
our youth who has a cool and long caṭai and occupied it as your temple!
முடியால் வானவர்கள் முயங்கும் திருக்காளத்தியாய்
the Lord in Tirukkāḷatti before whom the celestials prostrate touching your feet with their heads!
அடியேன்
I, your slave.
உன்னை அல்லால் மற்று ஒருவரையே அறியேன்
do not know any other god except you.

{$} நீறு ஆர் மேனியனே
god who is sumptuously smeared with sacred ash!
நிமலா
the spotless supreme being!
நினை அன்றி மற்றுக் கூறேன் என்நா அதனால்
I would not praise any one else except your after I have realised you

கொழுந்தே! குணக்கடலே
tender shoot! ocean of good qualities!
மாறு ஆர் வெண்தலையில் பலிகொண்டு உழல் காளத்தியாய்
the Lord in Kālatti who wanders receiving alms in a white skull which is surrounded by kites!
ஏறே
you who are like a lion!
உன்னை அல்லால் இனி ஏத்த மாட்டேனே
I would not definitely praise any one else except you, now.

{$} தளிர் போல் மெல் அடியாள் தனை ஆகத்து அமர்ந்தருளி எளிவாய் வந்து என் உள்ளம் புகுதவல்ல எம்பெருமான்
my Lord who is capable of entering into my mind easily coming to me, placing in your body a lady who has soft feet like the tender leaves.
களி ஆர் வண்டு அறையும் திருக்காளத்தியுள் இருந்த ஒளியே
the light divine who dwells in Tirukkāḷatti where the bees delighted with drinking honey hum in the flowers.
உன்னை அல்லால் இனி ஒன்றும் உணரேனே
I would not definitely be conscious of any other thing except you; now.

{$} (1) கார் ஊரும் பொழில் சூழ் கணநாதன் எம் காளத்தியுள் ஆரா இன்னமுதை
about the sweet ambrosia in Kāḷatti that does not satiate, surrounded by gardens on which clouds crawl, and the master of the hosts of pūtams.
அணி நாவல் ஆரூரன் சொன்ன சீர்ஊர் செந்தமிழ்கள் செப்புவார்
those who recite the verses of refined Tamiḻ and have eminence being composed by Ārūraṉ of beautiful Nāvalūr.
வினை ஆயின போய்ப் பேரா விண்உலகம் பெறுவார் பிழைப்பு ஒன்று(உம்) இலரே
will attain the world which knows no destruction, after their acts leave them; they are people without even a single defect.
