{$} குரும்பை முலை மலர்க்குழலிகொண்டதவம் கண்டு
knowing the penance undertaken by Umai who had breasts like immature cocoanuts, and tresses of hair adorned with flowers.
குறிப்பினொடும் சென்று
going to that place of penance with the intention of marrying her.
அவள் தன் குணத்தினை நன்கு அறிந்து
understanding her nature well after testing her.
விரும்பும் வரம் கொடுத்து
granting the boons she desired.
அவளை வேட்டருளிச்செய்த விண்ணவர்கோன்
the chief of the celestials who married her.
கண்ணுதலோன் மேவிய ஊர்வினவில்
if one asks about the place where Civaṉ with a frontal eye, dwells.
அரும்பு அருகேசுரும்பு அருவ
as the kind of bee, curupu, gently afflict the mature buds.

by the side of the gardens that lend beauty where lovely peacocks dance using them as the stage.
கரும்பு அருகே கருங்குவளை கண்வளரும் கழனிக்கமலங்கள் முகம் மலரும் கலய நல்லூர்காண்
is Kalayanallūr where lotus blossoms like faces in the fields where the blue nelumbo by the side of sugar-canes close their petals as if they are in sleep (காண் expletive in all the verses).

{$} செருமேவுசலந்தரனைப்பிளந்தசுடர் ஆழிசெங்கண் மலர்பங்கயமாச் சிறந்தானுக்கு அருளி
granting the brilliant discus which cut calantaraṉ into two who desired battle, to Māl who laid his red eye which is like lotus, at the feet of Civaṉ.
இருள் மேவும் அந்தகன்மேல் திரிசூலம்பாய்ச்சி
thrusting the trident of three blades into the body of antakācuraṉ who was like darkness.
இந்திரனைத்தோள்முரித்த இறையவன் ஊர்வினவில்
if one asks about the place of the Lord who broke off the shoulders of intiraṉ
பெருமேதை மறை ஒலியும்
the sound of vētams which grants supreme intelligence.
பேரிமுழவுஒலியும்
the sound of pēri and muḻavu.
பிள்ளை இனம் துள்ளிவிளையாட்டு ஒலியும் பெருக
and the sound of groups of children who jump and play, are increasing
கருமேதிபுனல்மண்ட
as the black buffalo dives into the water.
கயல்மண்ட
the Kayal fish fall on the lotus in a group.
கமலம் களிவண்டின் கணம் இரியும் கலய நல்லூர் காண்

மணல் இலிங்கம் அது இயற்றி
improvising an iliṅkam from the sand of the river maṇṇi.
இனத்து ஆவின்பால் ஆட்ட
bathing with milk got from the herd of cows.
இடறிய தாதையைத்தாள் துண்டம் இடு சண்டி அடி அண்டர் தொழுது ஏத்த
the tēvar to worship and praise the feet of caṇṭi who cut into two the feet of his father who kicked the milk-pots.
தொடர்ந்து அவனைப் பணிகொண்ட விடங்கனது ஊர்வினவில்
if one asks about the place of the beautiful god who admitted caṇṭi into his grace.
மண்டபமும் கோபுரமும் மாளிகை சூளிகையும்
in the halls public tower-gates, mansions and open terraces intended for enjoying moonlight
மறைஒலியும் விழவு ஒலியும் மறுகு நிறைவு எய்தி
the sound of chanting vetams, and the bustle of festivals filling the streets.
கண்டவர்கள் மனம் கவரும் புண்டரிகப் பொய்கைக் காரிகையார் குடைந்து ஆடும் கலய நல்லூர் காண்
is Kalayanallūr where beautiful ladies bathe diving into the natural ponds where lotus flowers captivate the minds of people who look at them.

as soon as the daughter of the mountain playing with Civaṉ close out of joy the eyes in the face by her hands wearing bangles.
வல்லிருளாய் எல்லா உலகுடன் தான்மூட
when impervious darkness enveloped all the worlds.
இருள் ஓடும்வகை நெற்றிஒற்றைக்கண் படைத்துஉகந்த உத்தமன் ஊர்வினவில்
if one asks the about the place of the supreme god who became eminent by creating a frontal eye in order to cause the darkness of flee away.
அலைஅடைந்த புனல்பெருகி
swollen with floods having waves
யானை மருப்பு இடறி
stumbling upon the tusk of elephants.
அகிலொடு சந்து உந்திவரும் அரிசிலின் தென்கரைமேல்

thinking of their sufferings in his mind when the immortals beginning from Māl who is in a standing posture and Piramaṉ who is seated in a lotus, petitioned reduced in their greatness to redness their grievance, filling his presence to its utmost capacity

பெருந்தேவர் சிரம் தோள் பல்கரம்கண்பீடுஅழியச்செற்று
having punished the eminent tēvar to lose the greatness of their head, shoulders, hands and eyes.

and the green parrots praise god as they heard men praising him.
காலையிலும் மாலையிலும் கடவுள் அடிபணிந்து
falling at the feet of god both in the morning and evening.
கசிந்தமனத்தவர் பயிலும்கலயநல்லூர்; காண்

{$} பொரும்பலம் அதுஉடை அசுரன் தாரகனைப்பொருது
fighting with tārakaṉ, the acuraṉ, who was strong enough to give battle.
பொன்று வித்த (1) பொருளினை முன் படைத்து உகந்த புனிதன்
the pure Civaṉ who became eminent begetting the son who caused him to die.
கரும்புவிலின் மலர்வாளிக் காமன் உடல்வேவக் கனல்விழித்த கண்ணுதலோன் கருதும் ஊர்வினவில்
if one asks about the place of Civaṉ who opened the frontal eye to issue fire to burn the body of Kāmaṉ who has a bow of sugar-cane and arrows of flowers, which Civaṉ desires warmly.

if one asks about the place where the supreme god who dwelt being pleased with the worship done in the past by Ayaṉ in the fertile lotus, according to rules, in the big temple with the an extensive area.
வெண்கவரி கரும்பீலி வேங்கையொடு கோங்கின் விரைமலரும்விரவு புனல் அரிசிலின் தென்கரைமேல்

singing the melody musical mode, cīkāmaram, having the skull of Piramaṉ sitting in the lotus, as the bowl.
உண்பலிகொண்டு உழல் பரமன்உறையும் ஊர்
the place where the supreme god who wanders receiving alms for eating.
நிறைநீர் ஒழுகுபுனல் அரிசிலின் தென்கலயநல்லூர் அதனை
on Kalayanallūr which is on the southern bank of the river, aricil where plenty of water flows.
நண்பு உடைய நன்சடையன் இசைஞானி சிறுவன்
the son of cataiyaṉ of good qualities who is friendly towards all and icaiñāṉi
