Keeping myself away from
ஆர் ஆரும் மூவிலை வேல் அங்கையானை
Civaṉ who holds in his palm a trident of three sharp blades.

அலைகடல் நஞ்சு அயின்றானை
who drank the poison that rose in the roaming sea
அமரர் ஏத்தும் ஏர் ஆரும் மதி பொதியும் சடையினானை
who hides in his caṭai a beautiful crescent which is praised by the immortals

எழு பிறப்பும் எனை 11. ஆளா உடையான் தன்னை

Civaṉ who could not be known was urruttiraṉ, ari and Ayaṉ
அமரர் தொழும் கழலானை
whose feet are worshipped by the immortals.

who is free from impurities
சோதி மதி கலை 2. தொலைய
who trampled under his feet the bright moon to lose its phases
தக்கன் எச்சன் சுடர் இரவி அயில் எயிறு தொலைவித்தானை
who caused to destroy the head of Takkaṉ, the god of sacrifice and the sharp teeth of the sun with rays, by Vīrappattirar.
மிக ஓதி அந்தணர்கள் எரி மூன்று ஓம்பும் உயர் புகழ் ஆர் தரும் ஓமாம் புலியூர் மன்னும் தீது இல் திருவடதனி எம் செல்வன் தன்னை
our god who dwells in beautiful northern shrine which is without any blemish and is permanent in Ōmāmpuliyūr which is full of increasing fame as the brahmins there are very learned and maintain the three fires

Civaṉ who flayed the skin of an elephant of musts flowing profusely.
வானவர்கோன் தோள் அனைத்தும் மடிவித்தானை
who cut all the shoulders of intiraṉ, the king of immortals
தருமிக்க குழல் உமையாள் பாகன் தன்னை
who has as his half Umayāl having tresses of hair of luxurious growth
சங்கரன் எம் பெருமானை
who has the name of caṅkaraṉ and who is our Lord
தரணிதன் மேல்
in this world
உருமிக்க மணி மாடம் நிலாவு வீதி உத்தமர் வாழ் ஓமாம் புலியூர் மன்னும் திருமிக்க வடதளி எம் செல்வன் தன்னை
who is our Lord and who is the northern temple of great wealth which is permanent in Ōmāmpuliyūr where, in the streets which have shining beautiful and bright storeys, men of sterling worth live.

அன்றினவர் புரமூன்றும் பொடியாய் வீழ அழல் விழித்த கண்ணானை
Civaṉ who opened his frontal eye to issue fire to reduce to dust the cities of the enemies
அமரர் கோனை
who is the chief of the immortals
வென்றீ மிகு காலன் உயிர் பொன்றி வீழ விளங்கு திருவடி எடுத்த விகிர்தன் தன்னை
who is different from the world and lifted his eminent foot to kick the god of death who was previously victorious, to die and fall on the earth
ஒன்றிய சீர் இரு பிறப்பர் முத்தீ ஓம்பும் உயர் புகழ் நான் மறை ஓமாம் புலியூர்
in Ōmampuliyūr where the twice-born brahmins who are united with fame maintain the three and chants the four vētams off increasing fame.
நாளும் தென்றல் மலி வடதளி செல்வன் தன்னா
our god in the northern temple where daily the southern balmy breeze is blowing abundantly
திகைத்து நாள் செலுத்தினேன்
I spent many days fruitlessly, being confuesed in my mind.

பாங்கு உடைய எழில் அங்கி அருச்சனை முன் விரும்பப் பரிந்து அவனுக்கு அருள் செய்த பரமன் தன்னை
the supreme god who bestowed his grace on the god of fire of good qualities and beauty, who performed worship here, being affectionate towards him.
பாங்கு இலா 1. நரகதனைத் தொண்டர் ஆனார் பாராத வகை பண்ணவல்லான் தன்னை
who is capable of causing his devotees not even to see the hell which is without any goodness.
ஓங்குமதில் புடை தழுவும் எழில் ஓமாம் புலியூர் உயர் புகழ் அந்தணர் ஏத்த
as the brahmins o feminent fame praise him in beautiful Ōmāmpuliyūr which is surrounded by high walls of fortification.
உலகர்க்கு என்றும் தீங்கு இல் திரு வடதளி எம் செல்வன் தன்னை
our Lord in the holy nothern temple which always wards off evil to the people of this world.

the god who is worshipped with joined hands and praised by sages who have performed severe penance.

who is the sweet ambrosia that does not satiate
அடியார் தம் மேல் வரும் துயரம் தவிர்ப்பானை
who will removee the suffferings that came to his devotees.
உமையாள் நங்கை மணவாள நம்பியை
who is the elite bridegroom of Umayāḷ, a lady of distinction.

Civaṉ whose abode is mountain (Kayilai)
வருமலை 1. அன்று உரி செய்தானை
who flayed the skin of an elephant which appears like a mountain that is walking, in the distant part
மறையானை
who is the meaning of the vētam.
மறையாலும் அறிய ஒண்ணாக் கலையானை
who has many manifestation of divinity which could not be known even by the vētams.
கலை ஆரும் கையினானை
who has on his hand a deer
2. அடியார்கள் துயரம் எல்லாம் கடிவானை
who drives away all the sufferings of his devotees.
உலையாத அந்தணர்கள் வாழும் ஓமாம் புலியூர் எம் உத்தமனை
our supreme god possessing all moral attributes, in Ōmāmpuliyūr where brahmin are not slack in their good conduct.
புரம் மூன்று எய்த சிலையானை
who shot an arrow from the bow aiming at the three forts.
வடதளி எம் செலல்வன் தன்னை
and who is our Lord in the northern temples.

செழுமதியும் பட அரவும் உடன் வைத்தானை
who placed the flourshining crescent and a cobra with hood side by side.
சார்ந்தோர்கட்கு இனியானை
who is sweet to those who approach him.
தன் ஒப்பு இல்லாத் தழல உருவை
who has a body of fire which has no comparison
தலை மகனை
who is the chief
தகை நால் வேதம் ஓர்ந்து ஓதிப் பயில்வார் வாழ்தரும் ஓமாம் புலியூர் உள்ளானை
who is Ōmāmpuliyūr where brahmins who have investigated keenly the eminent four vetams and chant them always.
கள்ளாத அடியார் நெஞ்சில் சேர்ந்தானை
who stayed inthe hearts of devotees who have no thought of stealing even knowledge

who is our Lord in the northern temple.

Umayāl who has breasts on which bodice is fixed, to get frightened,
அன்று மலை எடுத்த வாள் அரக்கன் தோளும் தாளும் ஏர் கெழுவு சிரம் பத்தும் இறுத்து
Having crushed the beautiful ten heads, feet and shoulders of the cruel arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain in the hoary past.
மீண்டு இன்னிசை கேட்டிருந்தானை
who was pleased to hear the sweet music after that
இமையோர் கோனை
the chief of the immortals who do not wink
பார் கெழுவு புகழ் மறையோர் பயிலும் மாடப் பைம் பொழில் சேர் தரும் ஓமாம் புலியூர் 1. மன்னும் சீர் கெழுவு வடதளி எம் செல்வன் தன்னை
our Lord in the eminent northern temple which is permanent in Ōmāmapuliyūr where there are verdant gardens, and mansions where brahmins with fame spread throughout the length and breath of the world, live together.
