அடியார் பாட, பரவக் கண்டேன்
I saw the devotees singing and praising Civaṉ.
பத்தர் கணம் கண்டேன்
saw the group of votaries
மொய்த்த பூதம் ஆடல் முழவம் அதிரக்கண்டேன்
saw crowded pūtam-s to play on a high pitch the muḻavu which is played during dance as an accompaniment.
அங்கை அனல் கண்டேன்
I saw fire in the palm
கங்கையாளைக் கோடல் அரவு ஆர் சடையில் கண்டேன்
saw in the caṭai where there is a cobra and malabar glory lily, Kaṅkaiyāḷ

I saw on one half Umai whose soft words are as sweet as milk.
பதினெண் கணமும் பயிலக் கண்டேன்
saw all the eighteen clases of the tevar to do service surrounding Civaṉ
நீல நிறம் உண்ட கண்டம் கண்டேன்
saw the neck which turned blue by consuming the poison.
நெற்றிநுதல் கண்டேன்
I saw the eye on the forehead.
[[நெற்றி விழி should have been the reading, as நுதல் and நெற்றி have the same meaning]]
பெற்றம் கண்டேன்
saw the vehicle of a bull.
காலைக் கதிர் செய் மதியம் கண்டேன்
saw a young crescent which spreads rays during its portion of the day, night.
கரந்தை திருமுடிமேல் தோன்றக் கண்டேன்
saw fragrant basil to appear on the holy head conspicuously.
மாலைச் சடையும் முடியும் கண்டேன்
saw the caṭai coiled into a crown wearing garlands.
[[சடையின் முடியும் should have been the reading; சடையும் முடியும் may perhaps be a scribal error.]]

மண்ணைத் திகழ நடம் (அது) ஆடும் வரை சிலம்பு ஆர்க்கின்ற பாதம் கண்டேன்
I saw the foot on which the anklet wore makes a loud sound when Civaṉ dances to make this earth eminent

விண்ணைமடங்க விரி நீர் பரந்து வெற்புக் கரப்ப, மண்ணை மடங்க வரும் ஒரு காலத்தும் (Kōvaiyūr, 75);

விண்ணின் திகழும் முடியும் கண்டேன்
saw the head which glitters like the red sky.
வேடம் பல ஆம் சரிதை கண்டேன்
I saw the acts suited to the many forms.
நண்ணிப் பிரியா மழுவும் கண்டேன்
saw the battle-axe which does not leave him having joined him.
நாலு மறை அங்கம் ஓதக்கண்டேன்
saw him chant the four vetams and six aṅkams.

விளைத்த பெரும் பத்தி கூர நின்று மெய் அடியார்தம்மை விருமப்க் கண்டேன்
I saw sincere devotees for their great piety which they produce by the penance done in previous births for their prosperity, to love Civaṉ
இளைக்கும் கதநாகம் மேனி கண்டேன்
saw on his form the angry conbras which are afraid of Karuṭaṉ
1. என்பின் கலம் திகழ்ந்து தோன்றக் கண்டேன்
saw the ornament of bones to appear eminent.
திளைக்கும் திருமார்பில் நீறு கண்டேன்
saw sacred ash by which the holy chest is smeared completely
சேண் ஆர் மதில் மூன்றும் பொன்ற அன்று வளைத்த வரி சிலையும் கையில் கண்டேன்
saw in the hand the bow tied with bands which was bent long ago to make all the three forts which were moving in the sky completely destroyed.

கான் மறையும் போதகத்தின் 1. உரிவை கண்டேன்
I saw the skin of an elephant which lives in the forest hiding itself
காலில் கழல் கண்டேன்
saw Kaḻal in the foot.
கரியின் தோல் கொண்டு ஊன் மறையப் போர்த்த 2. வடிவும் கண்டேன்
saw the form covered with that elephant's skin after having removed the stench of flesh.
உள்க மனம் வைத்த உணர்வும் கண்டேன்
saw the intelligence which he gave, to think of him in my mind.
நான் மறையானோடு நெடிய மாலும் நண்ணி வரக் கண்டேன்
saw Piramaṉ who learnt all the four vētams and tall Māl to come near his sides.
திண்ணமாக மான் மறி தம் கையில் மருவக் கண்டேன்
saw the young deer to stand in his hand with vigour.

அடி ஆர் சிலம்பு ஒலிகள் ஆர்ப்பக் கண்டேன்
I saw the sound of the anklet worn on the leg, to make a big noise.
அவ்வவர்க்கே ஈந்த கருணை கண்டேன்
I saw the benign grace granted to each and everyone according to his fitness.
முடி ஆர் சடைமேல் அரவம் மூழ்க மூரிப்பிறை போய் மறையக் கண்டேன்
saw on the caṭai coiled into a crown the cobra to plunge into the Kaṅkai, and the great crescent to hide.
கொடியார் அதன் மேல் இடபம் கண்டேன்
I saw the bull on the flag. (கொடியார்: ஆர் is an honorific suffix)
கோவணமும் கீளும் குலாவக் கண்டேன்
I saw the loin-cloth and the cloth waist-band to be conspicuous
வடி ஆரும் மூ இலை வேல் கையில் கண்டேன்

குழை ஆர் திருத்தோடு காதிற் கண்டேன்
I saw the men's ear-ring and women's ear-ring of great workmanship on the ears.
கொக்கரையும் சச்சரியும் கொள்கை கண்டேன்
I saw him having the muscial instruments, Kokkarai and caccari
இழை ஆர் புரி நூல் வலத்தே கண்டேன்
saw on the right-side sacred thread of strands which have single twisted threads.
ஏழ் இசையாழ் வீணை முரலக் கண்டேன்
saw yāḻ and vīṇai of seven notes to produce swelt music.
தழை ஆர் சடை கண்டேன்
saw the caṭai which is like the red leaves of tillai tree;

மழை ஆர்திரு மிடறும் மற்றும் கண்டேன்
saw the neck which is like the sable cloud, and some other things

பொருந்தாத செய்கை 1. பொலியக் கண்டேன்
I saw actions which do not agree with the worlds to be conspicuous in Civaṉ.
[[These are smearing the holy ash, adorning himself with bones and garlands of skull, receiving alms in a skull, consuming the poison, dancing in the cremation ground etc.]]
2. போற்று இசைத்து விண்ணோர் புகழ்க் கண்டேன்
I saw the celestials to praise him with word of invocations.
பரிந்தார்க்கு அருளும் பரிசு கண்டேன்
I saw his nature of granting his grace to those who cherish him with love.
3. பாராகிப் புனல் ஆகி நிற்கை கண்டேன்
I saw him remaining as the earth and water.
விருந்தாய்ப் பரந்த தொகுதி கண்டேன்
I saw the collection of pūtams and devils which spread themselves with novelty creating in the minds of devotees, wonder.
மெல்லியலும் விநாயகனும் தோன்றக் கண்டேன்
I saw a lady of gentle nature and vināyakaṉ to appear by his side.
[[This is one of the verses in which vināyakaṉ is mentioned.]]
மருந்தாய்ப் பிணிதீர்க்கும் மாறு கண்டேன்
I saw Civaṉ as curing diseases being himself the remedies.

மெய் அன்பர் ஆனார்க்கு அருளும் கண்டேன்
I saw the grace he grants to sincere devotees.
வேடுவனாய் நின்ற நிலையும் கண்டேன்
I saw him in the posture of a hunter.
கை அம்பு அரண் எரித்த காட்சி கண்டேன்
I saw the sight of the arrow held in his hand burning the fortresses.
1. கங்கணமும் அங்கைக் கனலும் கண்டேன்
I saw the wraistlet and the fire in the palm.
ஐயம்பல ஊர் திரியக் கண்டேன்
I saw him wandering in many places to receive alms.
அன்றவன் தன் வேள்வி அழித்து உகந்து வையம் பரவ இருத்தல் கண்டேன்
I saw him sitting majestically having destroyed the sacrifice perfomred by the inimical takkaṉ.

I knew the reason for rising high as a column of fire for the two, Māl and Piramaṉ to be perplexed.
கருவாய் நின்று பலங்கள் தரித்து உகந்த பண்பும் கண்டேன்
I saw the nature of being the embryo and the produce of that embryo which were concealed in him and making them appear again, and becoming exalted by the act.
பாடல் ஒலி எலாம் கூடக் கண்டேன்
I saw the sweet sounds of songs to combine together.
இலங்கைத் தலைவன் சிரங்கள் பத்தும் இறுத்து அவனுக்கு ஈந்த பெருமை கண்டேன்
I saw the greatness of granting grace to the King of ilaṅkai after crushing all his ten heads.
வலங்கைத்தலத்துள் அனலும் கண்டேன்
