the god, Civaṉ who has me as his protege and admitted me into his grace.
மான் ஏறு கரம் உடைய வரதர் (போலும்)
grantor of boons and holds in his hand a deer which is standing on it.
மால் வரை கால் வளை வில்லா வளைத்தார் (போலும்)
bent the big mountain as a bow whose two ends were bent.
கான் ஏறு கரி கதற உரித்தார் (போலும்)
flayed an elephant which lives in the forest, to roar

கட்டங்கம், கொடி, துடி, கைக்கொண்டார் (போலும்)
has in his hand a battle-axe, flay of a bull, and a drum tapering from two ends towards the middle.
தேன் ஏறு திரு இதழித்தாரார் (போலும்)
wears on his chest garland of koṉṟai which has abundant honey.
திருவீழிமிழலை அமர் செல்வர் போலும்
is the god who dwells in Tiru Vīḻimiḻalai.
ஆன் ஏறு அது ஏறும் அழகர் போலும்
is the beautiful god who rides on the bull of the bovine species.

சமரம் மிகு சலந்தரன் போர் வேண்டினானைச் சக்கரத்தாற் பிளப்பித்த சதுரர் போலும்
is the able god who had calantaraṉ who desired fight and who was previously victorious in battles, cut into two by the discus.
நமனை ஒருகால் குறைத்த நாதர் போலும்
the cheif who destroyed the god of death, with the left leg

consumed the poison first so that the immortals can partake of the nectar later.

the immaculate god who has a holy body smeared with sacred ash.
நெடுமாற்கு நேமி அருளிச் செய்தார் போலும்
granted to tall Māl a discus.
ஏறு அணிந்த கொடியுடை எம் இறைவர் போலும்
is our chief who has a flag which is adorned by a bull.
எயில் மூன்றும் எரி சரத்தால் எய்தார் போலும்
shot a burning arrow on all the three forts.
வேறு அணிந்த கோலம் உடை வேடர் போலும்
has a form which is different from the world.
வியன்வீழிமிழலை உறை விகிர்தர் போலும்
is different from the worlds and dwells in extensive vīḻimiḻalai.
ஆறு அணிந்த சடா மகுடத்து அழகர் போலும்
is the beautiful god whose caṭai is coiled into a crown, adorned by the river, Kaṅkai.

கைவேழமுகத்தவனைப் படைத்தார் போலும்
created one with an elephant's head and trunk.
கயாசுரனை அவனால் கொல்வித்தார் போலும்
had Kayācuraṉ killed by him. (this is one of the references to vināyakar)
செய்வேள் வித்தக்கனை முன் சிதைத்தார் போலும்
destroyed the sacrifice performed by takkam in the past.
1. திசை முகன் தன் சிரம் ஒன்று சிதைத்தார் போலும்
removed one of the five heads of ticaimukaṉ (Piramaṉ)
மெய் வேள்வி மூர்த்தி தலை அறுத்தார் போலும்
cut off the head of the true form of sacrifices.

துன்னத்தின் கோவணம் ஒன்று உடையார் போலும்
has a men's loin-cloth to which is stitched to a waist-band of cloth for ascetics.
சுடர் மூன்றும் சோதியுமாய், தூயார் போலும்
is the pure one who is the sun, the moon and the fire and their brilliance.
பொன் ஒத்த திருமேனிப் புனிதர் போலும்
is the pure god who has a holy form like gold.
பூதகணம் புடை சூழ வருவார் போலும்
comes surrounded by groups of putām.
மின் ஒத்த செஞ்சடை வெண் பிறையார் போலும்
bears a white cresceent on the red caṭai which shines like lightning.
வியன்வீழிமிழலை சேர் விமலர் போலும்
is the spotless god who dwells in extensive vīḻimiḻalai.
1. அன்னத்தேர் அயன் முடிசேர் அடிகள் போலும்
is the god who has the skull who has the vehicle of a swan.

நால் ஆய மறைக்கு இறைவர் ஆனார் போலும்
is the chief for the four vētams.
நாம எழுத்து அஞ்சு ஆய நம்பர் போலும்
is Civaṉ whose name is the mantiram of five letters.
வேல் ஆர் கை வீரியை முன் படைத்தார் போலும்
created vivi with a vēl in hand, in the past.

ஆலாலம் மிடற்று அடக்கி அளித்தார் போலும்

மஞ்சு அடுத்த மணி நீல கண்டர் போலும்
has a beautiful blue neck which looks like the cloud, having joined it.
வடகயிலை மலை உடைய மணாளர் போலும்
is the bridegroom who has as his abode Kayilaimalai which is in the north.
செஞ்சடைக் கண் வெண்பிறை கொண்டு அணிந்தார் போலும்
adorned him red caṭai with a white crescent.
திருவீழிமிழலை அமர் சிவனார் போலும்
is Civaṉ who dwells in tiruv
அஞ்சு அடக்கும் அடியவர்கட்கு அணியார் போலும்
is near at hand to those who have controlled the five senses.

குடமூக்கில் இடம் ஆக்கிக் கொண்டார் போலும்
created for himself a place in Kuṭamūkkil.
புண்டரிகப் புது மலர் ஆதனத்தார் போலும்
is seated on the fresh flower of lotus (the lotus refers to the heart)
புள் அரசைக் கொன்று உயிர் பின் கொடுத்தார் போலும்
brought back to life after killing the King of birds

Civaṉ who is different from the world received alms in the white skull.
வியன்வீழிமிழலை நகர் உடையார் போலும்
has as his abode the extensive city of vīḻimiḻalai.
அண்டத்துப் புறத்து அப்பால் ஆனார் போலும்
is beyond the boundary of this universe.

is sweet to those who are pious in however a small measure.
இரு நான்கு மூர்த்திகளும் ஆனார் போலும்

frightened Umai byflaying the elephant.
கங்கையையும் செஞ்சடைமேற் கரந்தார் போலும்
concealed Kankai also in his red catai.
எரி அது ஒருகைத் தரித்த இறைவர் போலும்
is the Lord who held in one hand fire.
ஏனத்தின் கூன் எயிறு பூண்டார் போலும்
adorned himself with the hog's tusk, which is curved.
விரி கதிரோர் இருவரை முன் வெகுண்டார் போலும்
was angry with the sun and the moon of spreading rays;
[[Pākaṉ was made blind; Pūsha had his teeth knocked out; the moon was trampled under the feet by Vīrapattirar in the sacrifice performed by Takkaṉ.]]
வியன்வீழிமிழலை அமர் விமலர் போலும்
is the spotless god who dwells in the extensive vīḻimiḻalai
அரி பிரமர் துதிசெய நின்று அளித்தார் போலும்
granted boons to ari and Piramaṉ when they praised, appeared before them.

கயிலாய மலை எடுத்தான் கதறி வீழக் கால் விரலால் அடர்த்து அருளிச் செய்தார் (போலும்)
granted boons after pressing with his toe the arakkaṉ who lifted Kayilāyamalai, to fall down roaring,
1. குயில் ஆய மென் மொழியாள் குளிர்ந்து நோக்க
to be witnessed with love by the lady of soft words which are sweet to hear like the voice of the Kuyil.
கூத்தாட வல்ல குழகர் போலும்
is the youth who can dance
வெயில் ஆய சோதி விளக்கு ஆனார் போலும்
is the sun which is a very brilliant light.
வியன்வீழிமிழலை அமர் விகிர்தர் போலும்
is the vikirtar who dwells in extensive vīḻimiḻalai.
2. அயில் ஆய மூவிலை வேற் படையார் போலும்
has the weapon of a trident which has three sharp blades.
