I who am like a dog at the feet of god
நம்பனை
Civaṉ in whom one can repose his confidence
நால் வேதம் கரை கண்டானை
whose knowledge of all the four vetams is profound and extensive
ஞானப்பெருங்கடலை
who is like the ocean of spiritual wisdom
நன்மை தன்னை
who is happiness itself
கம்பனை
who is the Lord in Ēkampam in Kāñcipuram
கல்லால் இருந்தான் தன்னை
who sat under the special variety of banyan tree known as `Kallāl'
கற்பகமாய் அடியார்கட்கு அருள் செய்வானை
who grants his grace like the divine tree in heaven by name `Kaṟpakam'
செம்பொன்னை
who is the superior gold
பவளத்தை
who is the coral.
திரளும் முத்தை
who is the spherical pearl
திங்களை, ஞாயிற்றை, தீயை, நீரை

the beautiful gold that is not made fire.

Civaṉ who is the lightning
மின்னிடைச்சேர் உருமினானை
who is the thunder in the lightning
வெண்முகிலாய் எழுந்து மழை பொழிவான் தன்னை
who rising like the white cloud, showes his grace like rain on his devotees
தன்னானை
who possesses self-control
தன் ஒப்பார் இல்லாதானை
who has nothing else to compared to him
பல் உயிர்க்குத் தாய் ஆகி தந்தை ஆகி
who is the mother and father for all living beings.
என்னானை
who is mine
எந்தை பெருமான் தன்னை
who is our father and master
இரு நிலமும் அண்டமும் ஆய்
who is the wide world and heaven
செக்கர்வானே அன்னானை
who is as red as the red sky itself.

பத்தர்கள் சித்தத்தே பாவித்தானை
Civaṉ who is the object of meditation in the minds of his devotees.
பவளக்கொழுந்தினை
who is as tender as the shoot of coral
மாணிக்கத்தின் தொத்தினை
who is the bunch of rubies.
தூநெறியாய் நின்றான் தன்னை
who stood as the pure path for the devotees.
சொல்லுவார் சொற் பொருளின் தோற்றம் ஆகி
who is the knowledge that is hidden in the words which people use, and in their meaning.
வித்தினை
who is the seed
முளைக்கிளையை
who is the branch of the sprout
வேரை
who is the root
சீரை
and the fruit
வினை வயத்தின் தன் சார்பை
who is the efficient cause of the way by which Karmams reach souls.
வெய்யதீர்க்கும் அத்தனை

பேணிய நற்பிறை தவழ் செஞ்சடையினானை
Civaṉ who has on his red catai a beautiful crescent that desired him as its refuge.
பித்தராம் அடியார்க்கு முத்திகாட்டும் ஏணியை
who is the ladder to ascend the higher place of liberation for the devotees who are god-maniacs.
இடர்க்கடலுள் சுழிக்கப்பட்டு இங்கு இளைக்கின்றேற்கு அக்கரைக்கே ஏறவாங்கும் தோணியை
who is the boat for me to reach the other shore, who is caught in the eddies of the ocean of sufferings in this world

தொண்டனேன் தூய சோதிச் சுலா வெண்குழையானை
who wears a men's ear-ring which whirls and has spotless brightness, and who belongs to me, his devotee.
சுடர் பொற்காசின் ஆணியை
the touch-needle which is used to test the fineners of gold made of brilliant gold coin.

உலகுக்கு ஓர் உறுதி தன்னை
who is the benefit of the world
உதயத்தின் உச்சியை
the peak of the mountain where the sun is supposed to rise.
உரும் ஆனானை

பருமணியை
who is the big precious stones
பாலோடு அஞ்சு ஆடினானை
who bathed in the five products of the cow including its milk.
பவளக்குன்றை
who is like a hill of coral
பசுபதியை
the master of all living beings
திருமணியை
the gem which shines without being cut and polished
தேன் ளஅதுன ஆகித்தித்திப்பை
who is the sweet taste being the honey
தீங்கரும்பின் இன் சுவையை
who is the sweet juice in the sweeet sugar-cane.
திகழும் சோதி அருமணியை
who is the rare precious stone which has shining brilliance

எல்லி நடம் ஆடவல்லான் தன்னை
who can dance in the night

who has a neck in which the poison which rose in the roaring sea, is staying.

Civaṉ who flayed a proud male elephant eminent by its trunk, which knew no defeat before.
கடல், வரை, வான், ஆகாசம் ஆனான் தன்னை
who is in the form of ocean, mountains, sky and the great cosmic space
செம்மானப் பவளத்தை
who is the red coral of great value
திகழும் முத்தை
who is the shining pearl
திங்களை, ஞாயிற்றை, தீ ஆனானை
who is the moon, the sun and the fire.
எம்மானை
who is our master
என் மனமே கோயிலாக இருந்தானை
who dwelt in my mind itself considering it to be his temple.

who wears a fragrant garland of koṉṟai flowers having bunches (கொந்து -கொத்து)
கோல மாநீல மிடற்றான் தன்னை
who a beautiful blue neck.

Civaṉ who drank the poison of the cool ocean and made it stay in the neck

தக்கன் தன் பெருவேள்வி தகர்த்தான் தன்னை
who ruined the great sacrifice of takkaṉ and thereby
பிரித்தானை
and removed the pride of takkaṉ
பிறை தவழ் செஞ்சடையினானை
who has on his red caṭai a crescent that seems to crawl.
பெருவலியால் மலை எடுத்த அரக்கன் தன்னை நெரித்தானை
who crushed the arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain by his great strength
நேரிழையாள் பாகத்தானை
who has as a half a lady wearing suitable ornaments
நீசனேன் உடல் உறு நோய் ஆன தீர அரித்தானை
who removed gradually the big disease in the body which belongs to me who is a very low person (this is an auto-biographical reference)
