I saw in Pūnturutti
நில்லாத நீர்சடைமேல் நிற்பித்தானை
Civaṉ who caused the water which is not stationary to remain without movement in his caṭai.
நினையா என் நெஞ்சை நினைவித்தானை
who caused my mind did not think of him, to think to him

கல்லாதன எல்லாம் கற்பித்தானை
who taught me what all I was not capable of learning.
காணாதன எல்லாம் காட்டினானை
who showed me what all I did no t see before.
சொல்லாதன எல்லாம் என்னைச் சொல்லி
who revealed to me what all I did not tell before

தொடர்ந்து இங்கு அடியேனை ஆளாக்கொண்டு
having accepted me as his servant in this world and bestowing his grace without ceasing.

who is the abode of virtue and the pure god who cured me of my disease which gave me excruciating pain.

குற்றாலம் கோகரணம் மேவினானை
Civaṉ who dwells happily in Kuṟṟālam and Kōkaraṇam.
கொடுங்கைக் கடுங்கூற்றைப் பாய்ந்தான் தன்னை
who pounced upon the terrible god of death of cruel act and destroyed him.
ஆலநஞ்சு உற்று உண்டு ஒடுக்கினானை
who consumed the poison of ālam with pleasure and restrained it in his neck.
உணரா என் நெஞ்சை உணர்வித்தானை
who caused my mind to feel which was not conscious of god previously.
பற்று (ஆக) ஆலின்கீழ் அங்கு இருந்தான் தன்னை
who sat under the banyan tree as the place under his possession as right (அங்கு expletive)
பண் ஆர்ந்த வீணை பயின்றானை
who practised playing on the vīṇai having all melody types.
புற்று ஆடு அரவு ஆர்த்த புனிதன் தன்னைப் புண்ணியனை
the abode of all virtues and the pure god who tied a dancing cobra which lives in the anthill.

எனக்கு என்றும் இனியான் தன்னை
Civaṉ who is always lovable to me.
எம்மான்தன்னை
who is our master.
எழில் ஆரும் ஏகம்பம்மேயானை
who dwells in beautiful ēkāmpam desiring that place (ஏகம்பம் is the eminent and important temple of Civaṉ in Kāñcīpuram)
மனக்கு என்றும் வருவானை
who stays always in my mind. (மனத்துக்கண்: அத்து has been dropped)

வஞ்சர் நெஞ்சில் நில்லானை
who does not stay in the minds of hypocrites.
நின்றியூர் மேயான் தன்னை
who is in niṉṟiyūr.
தனக்கு என்றும் அடியேனை ஆளாக்கொண்டசங்கரனை
cankaraṉ who accepted me his devotee, as his servant for ever.
சங்கவார்குழையான் தன்னை
who wears long men's ear-ring made of conch.
புனக்கொன்றைத்தார் அணிந்த புனிதன் தன்னைப் பொய்யிலியை
who never fails his devotees and the pure one who wears a garland of koṉṟai flowers available in the upland fit for dry cultivation.

வெறி ஆர் மலர்க்கொன்றை சூடினானை
Civaṉ who wore koṉṟai flowers of excessive fragrace.
வெள்ளானை வந்து இறைஞ்சும் வெண் காட்டானை
who is in veṇkāṭu where the white elephant, airāvatam, came and worshipped him;

அடைந்து அயிராவதம் பணிய, மிக்கு அதனுக்கு அருள்சுரக்கும் வெண்காடும்,
வெளிய உருவத்து ஆனைவணங்கும் வெண்காடே,

having kept me completely aloof from the ocean of sufferings into which I was entangled without knowing it to be such (Perhaps this refer to his being a jain in his early life)
நெறிதான் இது என்று காட்டினானை
who showed me this is the proper way
நிச்சல் நலிபிணிகள் தீர்ப்பான் தன்னை
who cures me of diseases that afflict me daily.
பொறி ஆடு அரவு ஆர்த்த புனிதன் தன்னைப் பொய்யிலியை
the never-failing god and the pure one who tied a dancing cobra with spots.

மிக்கானை
Civaṉ who is superior to other gods.
வெண்ணீறு சண்ணித்தானை
who besmeared himself with holy white ash.
விண்டார் புரம் மூன்றும் வேவநோக்கி நக்கானை
who laughed, looking at the three cities of enemies, to burn.
நான்மறைகள் பாடினானை
who changed the four vētams
நல்லார்கள் பேணிப் பரவநின்ற தக்கானை
who is worthy of being praised by good people with love.
தண்தாமரைமேல் அண்ணல் தலைகொண்டு
holding the skull of the chief Piramaṉ who is seated on a cool lotus.
(1) மாத்திரைக்கண் உலகம் எல்லாம் புக்கானை
who entered into all the worlds in the time taken for the winking of an eye.
புண்ணியனைப் புனிதன்தன்னைப் பொய்இலியை
who is the abode all virtues, the pure one and who never fails his devotees.

அரைக்கு ஓர் கச்சா வாசுகியை ஆர்த்தானை
Civaṉ who tied in his waist as a belt vācuki.
அசைத்தானை
who caused it dance.
அழகு ஆயபொன் (1) ஆர்மேனிப் பூத்தானத்தான் முடியைப் பொருந்தா வண்ணம் புணர்ந்தானை
who removed with his nails the head of Piramaṉ who is seated on a lotus flower and who has a beautiful golden body not to be attached to his body again.
பூங்கணையான் உடலம் வேவப் பார்த்தானை
who fixed his looks on the body of the cupid who has flowers as his arrows, to be burnt.
பரிந்தானை
who later granted his grace (brought him back to life)

பனிநீர்க் கங்கை படர்சடைமேற் பயின்றானை
who always kept on his spreading caṭai Kaṅkai of cool water.
பதைப்பயானை போர்/த்தானை
who covered himself with the skin of an elephant, to make Umai tremble with fear.
புண்ணியனைப் புனிதன்தன்னைப் பொய்யிலியை
who never fails his devotees, the above of all virtues and the pure one.

{$} நான் பூந்துருத்திக் கண்டேன்

எண்ணார் புரங்கள் மூன்றும் இமைப்பு அளவில் பொடி ஆக எரித்தானை
Civaṉ who burnt the three cities of the enemies in the twinkling of an eye to be reduced to ashes.
எழில் ஆர் கையால் மதகரியை உற்றுப் பற்றி உரித்தானை
who flayed the elephant of must, by sacurely catching it by his beautiful hands.
உமை அதனைக்கண்டு அஞ்சி நடுங்கக்கண்டு சிரித்தானை
who laughed when Umai trembled out of fear on seeing that.
சீர் ஆர்ந்த பூதம்சூழ
to be surrounded by famous pūtams.
திருச்சடைமேல் திங்களும் பாம்பும் நீரும் புரித்தானை
who desired and kept on his holy caṭai the crescent, cobra and water of Kaṅkai (புரிந்தான் has become புரித்தான்)
புண்ணியனைப் புனிதன் தன்னைப் பொய்யிலியை

{$} புண்ணியனைப் புனிதன் தன்னைப் பொய்யிலியை நான் பூந்துருத்திக் கண்டேன்

வானோர் உலகம் எல்லாம் வைத்தானை
Civaṉ who created the heaven and other worlds as places for living being.
வானோர் உலகம் எல்லாம் வந்து இறைஞ்சி மலர்கொண்டு நின்று போற்றும் வித்தானை
who is like the seed and is worshipped with flowers by all the celestials in heaven coming to this world and paying homage and praising him:
வேண்டிற்று ஒன்று ஈவானை
who grants anything that one desires.
விண்ணவர் தம் பெருமானை
who is the master of the celestials.
வினைகள் போக உய்த்தானை
who drove out the Karmams to leave his devotees.
ஒலிகங்கை சடைமேல் தாங்கி ஒளித்தானை
who concealled the roaring Kaṅkai, carrying it on his caṭai.
ஒரு பாகத்து உமையோடு ஆங்கே பொய்த்தானை
who uttered falsehood to Umai who is on one half, I never knew any other lady except you, at that time itself.

{$} புண்ணியனைப் புனிதன்தன்னைப் பொய்யிலியை நான் பூந்துருத்திக் கண்டேன்

வானோர் உலகம் எல்லாம் ஆண்டானை
Civaṉ who ruled over the world belonging to celestials.
அந்நாள் அறியாத தக்கன் வேள்வி விண்ணவர்களோடும் கூடிமீண்டானை
who returned from the sacrifice of ignorant takkaṉ along with the celestials who were brought back to life, in the distant past (The return was done after sacking the sacrifice of takkaṉ and bringing back to life the tēvar who attended the sacrifice.)
விரைமலர்மேல் நான்முகனும் மாலும் (1) தேட நீண்டானை நெருப்பு உருவமானான் தன்னை
who assumed the form of a tall column of fire to make Māl and Piramaṉ who is on the fragrant lotus flower, to search for him.
நிலை இலார் மும்மதிலும் வேவ வில்லைப்பூண்டானை
who were the bow as an ornament to burn the three forts of the acurar whose minds were not firm in their devotion to Civaṉ.

மறுத்தானை
rejecting the advice of Nanti.
மலைகோத்து அங்கு எடுத்தான்தன்னை மணிமுடியோடு இருபது தோள்நெரியக்காலால் இறுத்தானை
Civaṉ who destroyed with his foot crushing the twenty shoulders along with the crowns set with precious stones of the arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain by interlocking the hands.
எழுநரம்பின் இசைகேட்டானை
who granted his grace listening to the music from seven strings of the lute.
எண்திசைக்கும் (1) கண்ணானான் சிரமேல் ஒன்றை அறுத்தானை
who cut off the top-most head of Piramaṉ who had eyes looking at the four quarters.
அமரர்களுக்கு அமுது ஈந்தானை
who gave the nectar to the immortals.
யாவர்க்கும் தாங்க ஒணா நஞ்சம் உண்டு பொறுத்தானை
who made the poison which could not be borne by anyone, consuming it and stationing it in his nect.
