you admitted me your slave, into your grace after completely destroying my suffering
மற்று ஒருவர் ஒப்பு இல்லா மைந்தா (போற்றி)
the strong god who has no one comparable to you!
வானவர்கள் போற்றும் மருந்தே (போற்றி)
the nectar that is praised by the celestials who have knowledge of reality!
செற்றவர் தம் புரம் எரித்த சிவனே (போற்றி)
O Civaṉ who burnt the cities of the enemies!

வங்கம் மலி கடல் நஞ்சம் உண்டாய் (போற்றி)
you consumed the poison that rose in the ocean full of ships.

மதயானை ஈர் உரிவை போர்த்தாய் (போற்றி)
you covered yourself with the skin flayed from an elephant having must.
கொங்கு அலரும் நுறுங்கொன்றைத் தாராய் (போற்றி)
you wear a garland of fragrant koṉṟai which blossoms with honey.
கொல்புலித் தோல் ஆடைக் குழகா (போற்றி)
the youth who wears the skin of a tiger which is capable of killing, as a dress.
அம் கணனே
you who have eyes with benign looks.
அமரர்கள் தம் இறைவா (போற்றி)
the master of the immortals!

you gave moral instruction under the shade of the banyan tree.
செங்கனகத் தனிக்குன்றே
hill of refined gold which has no equal.

`one who has a young bull! let your feet protect me; let your feet protect me'

you stood permanently in my heart.
நெற்றிமேல் ஒற்றைக்கண் உடையாய் (போற்றி)
you have one eye on the forehead.
இலை ஆர்ந்த மூ இலை வேல் ஏந்தீ (போற்றி)
one who holds a trident which has three blades which have the shape of leaves.
ஏழ் கடலும் ஏழ் பொழிலும் ஆனாய் (போற்றி)
you are the seven oceans and the seven worlds.

you are the four vētams of permanent fame!

you holds a young dear in the hand!
உன்னுமவர்க்கு உண்மையனே (போற்றி, போற்றி)
the one who really exists to those who fix their thoughts on you!
உலகுக்கு ஒருவனே (போற்றி, போற்றி)
the unequalled master who is the sole cause.
சென்னி மிசை வெண்பிறையாய் (போற்றி, போற்றி)
who adorns his head with a white crescent.

வெஞ்சுடரோன் பல் இறுத்த வேந்தே (போற்றி)
the King who knocked out the teeth of the sun of hot rays.
வெண் மதி அம் கண்ணி விகிர்தா (போற்றி)
Civaṉ who is different from the world and who bears a chaplet of white crescent.
துஞ்சு இருளில் ஆடல் உகந்தாய் (போற்றி)
you rejoiced in dancing in the darkness when everything was withdrawn in you.
தூ நீறு மெய்க்கு அணிந்த சோதீ (போற்றி)
god as light divine, who smeared pure sacred ash on the body.
செஞ்சடையாய்! நின்பாதம் போற்றி, போற்றி
one who has ruddy caṭai! let your feet protect me.

one who wears angry cobras! let your feet protect me always.

one who is the embodiment of all virtuous acts, let your protect me always.
அம் கமலத்து அயனோடு மாலும் காணா அனல் உருவா
one who has the form of fire which was not found by Ayaṉ in the beautiful lotus, and by Māl!

you have a caṭai adorned with koṉṟai flowers whose fragrance is spreading.
வான் பிறையும் வாள் அரவும் வைத்தாய் (போற்றி)
you placed a crescent that shines in the sky and a cruel cobra, removing their enmity.
கொம்பு அனைய நுண்ணிடையாள் கூறா (போற்றி)
you who have as a half a lady with slender waist like the bough!
குரை கழலால் கூற்று உதைத்த கோவே (போற்றி)
the King who kicked the god of death with the leg wearing a Kaḻal.
நம்புமவர்க்கு அரும் பொருளே (போற்றி, போற்றி)
the rare thing for those who cherish you with love!
நால் வேதம் ஆறு அங்கம் ஆனாய் (போற்றி)
you are the four vetams and six aṅkams.

உகப்பார் மனத்து என்றும் நீங்காய் (போற்றி)
you will never leave the minds of those who esteem you.

person of unbounded liberality!

the husband of Umai!
வானவர்கோன் தோள் துணித்த மைந்தா (போற்றி)
one who severed the shoulder of intiraṉ, the King of the celestials;

Civaṉ who is the different from the world and rides on a white bull.

தெள்ளு நீர்க் கங்கைச் சடையாய் (போற்றி)
one who has on his caṭai Kankai of clear water.

the pure god whose head is adorned profusely with flowers!

the god for those tevar who possess divinity in a large measure!
திரு மாலுக்கு ஆழி அளித்தாய் (போற்றி)
you granted a discus to tirumāl.
சாவாமே காத்து என்னை ஆண்டாய் (போற்றி)
you admitted me as your protege saving me from death.
சங்கு ஒத்த நீற்று எம் சதுரா (போற்றி)
our able god who smears sacred ash which is as white as conch.
சே ஆர்ந்த வெல்கொடியாய் (போற்றி, போற்றி)
you who have a victorious flag in which a bull is drawn.

the great god who cut off the head of Piramaṉ!
பெண் உருவோடு ஆண் உருவாய் நின்றாய் (போற்றி)
you stood with a female form and male form in yourself and the world!
கரம் நான்கும் 1. முக்கண்ணும் உடையாய் (போற்றி)
you have four arms and three eyes.
காதலிப்பார்க்கு ஆற்ற எளியாய் (போற்றி)
you are very easily accessible to those who cherish you with love.
அருமந்த தேவர்க்கு அரசே (போற்றி)
the King of the tēvar who had tasted nectar
