திருமணியை

தித்திக்கும் தேனை
the honey which has sweet taste; the qualifying word does not differentiate it from a honey that is bitter in taste; it merely describes its nature;

who has as a half a lady whose waist is as flexible as the lightning.
வேழத்தின் உரி விரும்பிப் போர்த்தான் தன்னை
who covered himself with the skin of an elephant desiring it.
தன்னானை
who is self-dependent.
தன் ஒப்பார் இல்லாதானை
who has no one to be compared to him.
தத்துவனை
who is the ultimate reality.
உத்தமனை
who is the supreme god.
தழல் போல் மேனி அன்னானை
he who has a body like the fire

கூற்றானை
who is himself the god of death;

Civaṉ who destroys the irresistible actions done in previous births.
மூவாத மேனி முக்கண்ணினானை
who has three eyes and a body that does not show signs of ageing.
சந்திரனும் வெங்கதிரும் ஆயினானை
who is the moon of cool rays and the sun of hot rays.
சங்கரனை
who confers happiness on all.
சங்கக்குழையான் தன்னை
who wears a men's ear-ring made of conch.
மந்திரமும் மறைப் பொருளும் ஆனான் தன்னை
who is the mantiram and the meaning of the vētams.
மறுமையும் இம்மையும் ஆனான் தன்னை
who is the next birth and this birth. (who is the next world and this world is another meaning)

சுண்ண வெண்ணீறு அணிந்த சோதியானை
the light divine who smeared himself with the fine powder of white holy ash.
கோள்வாய் அரவம் அசைத்தான் தன்னை
who tied a cobra which can kill by its poison.
கொல் புலித்தோல் ஆடைக் குழகன் தன்னை
the youth who wears as dress the skin of a tiger which is capable of killing.

who smears with milky white sacred ash on his holy body which is as red as the rising sun.

நெய் ஆடு திருமேனி நிமலன் தன்னை
who is the spotless god who has a holy body which bathes in ghee.
நெற்றிமேல் மற்று ஒரு கண் நிறை வித்தானை

செழும் பவளத்திரள் ஒப்பானை
