தண் பாதித்திருவுருவில் பெண் கொண்டானை
Civaṉ who has on his holy body a lady on a half.
பண்டு ஒரு கால் தசமுகனை (1) அழுவித்தானை
who made Irāvaṇaṉ (of ten faces) to weep once, in the distant past.
வாதித்து
arguing with him.
தட மலரான் சிரம் கொண்டானை
who removed one of the heads of Piramaṉ who is seated in a big lotus flower.
(2) வன்கருப்புச் சிலைக் காமன் உடல் (3) அட்டானை
who burnt the body of Kāmaṉ who has a strong bow of sugar-cane.
சோதிச் சந்திரன் மேனி மறுச் செய்தானை
created a blot in the body of the moon which gives light
[[This was done during the sacrifice of Takkaṉ; Vīrappettirar trampled upon the moon and created a blot;]]

Civaṉ who killed Irāvaṇaṉ by his holy feet which pressed down the mountain, Kayilai, by crushing him.
விளக்கின் ஒளி, மின்னின் ஒளி, முத்தின் சோதி, ஒப்புறுத்த திருவுருவத்து ஒருவன் தன்னை
who is the unequalled god who has a holy body which is like the light of the lamp, the brilliance of the lightning and the lustre of the pearl.
ஓதாதே வேதம் உணர்ந்தான் தன்னை
who knew the vetams without learning them from a teacher.
அப்பு உறுத்த கடல் நஞ்சம் உண்டான் தன்னை
who consumed the poison that rose in the ocean that absorbs all the water into itself

அமுது உண்டார் உலந்தாலும் உலவாதானை
who does not die even though the so-called inimortals who partook of the nectar die;

who is the fire in the ocean which is filled with water

who is beyond the life that is beyond the reach of māyai.

the thing which created the body.
பெரிய வேதத்துண்டத்தின் துணி பொருளை
ascertained god who is established even by the fragments of the big vētams.
இற்றைச் சுடுதீ ஆகி
being the burning fire visible today.
சுழல் காலாய்
the wind that is whirling.
நீர் ஆகி
being the water.
பாராய்
and being the earth.
கண்டத்தில் 2. தீதின் நஞ்சு அமுது செய்து (நிறுத்தி)
stationing the harmful poison in the neck having transformed into nectar, and changing its harmful nature.
கண் மூன்று படைத்தது ஒரு கரும்பை
who is as sweet as the sugar-cane which has three eyes.

பாலை
who is as sweet as the milk.
அண்டத்துக்கு அப்புறத்தார் தமக்கு வித்தை
the seed for those liberated souls who are above the heaven

being the earth, fire, water and air pervading everywhere, and being their nature and their acts.
பாதி ஆய்
being the support for all things.
ஒன்று ஆகி
being the paracivam.
இரண்டு ஆய்
being catti and civam
மூன்று ஆய்
being Ayaṉ, ari and araṉ.
பரமாணு ஆய்
being the minute atom within the atom.
பழுத்த பண்கள் ஆகி
being the melody-types having the seven scales of music.
சோதி ஆய்
being the light
இருளாய்
being the darkness
சுவைகள் ஆகி
being the six kinds of taste.
வீடு ஆய்
being the salvation.
வீட்டின் ஆதி ஆய்
being the spiritual knowledge, which is the means to salvation.
அந்தமாய் நின்றான் தன்னை
and who stood as the fruit of that knowledge.
