you see.
அண்டத்தானை
Civaṉ who is the form of the universe.
அமரர் தொழப்படும் பண்டத்தானை
who is the truth who is worshipped by the immortals.
பவித்திரம் ஆர் திரு முண்டத்தானை
who has a forehead in which the pure sacred ash is worn in three horizontal lines.
முற்றாத இளம்பிறைத் துண்டத்தானை
who wears a phase of the moon, which has not grown to its full size.
தொழற்பாலது
deserves to be worshipped.

முத்து ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is like the pearl.
முளைத்து எழு கற்பக வித்து ஒப்பானை
who is like the seed of the Kaṟpakam tree, which sprouts and rises.
விளக்கிடை நேர் ஒளி ஒத்து ஒப்பானை
who is like the light which is in the lamp and the lamp itself.
ஒளிபவளத்திரள் தொத்து ஒப்பானை
and who is like the bunch and mass of the lustrous coral.
தொழற்பாலதே
deserves to be worshipped.

பண் ஒத்தானை
Civaṉ who is like the melody type.
பவளம் திரண்டது ஒர் வண்ணத்தானை
who has a red colour of a mass of coral.
வகை உணர்வான் தனை
who knows all the kinds of acts committed by us.
எண்ணத்தானை
who is in our thoughts.
இளம்பிறை போல் வெள்ளைச் சுண்ணத்தானைத் தொழற்பாலதே
and who smears the white powder of sacred ash which is like the young crescent, deserves to be worshipped.

விடலையானை
Civaṉ who is a youth (விடலை youth of 16-30 years).
விரை கமழ் தேன் கொன்றைப் படலையானை
who wears a garland of koṉṟai which has honey and whose fragrance spreads.
பலிதிரிவான் செலும் நடலையானை
who pretends to go wandering for receiving alms.
நரிபிரியாதது ஓர் சுடலையானை
who dwells in a cremation ground which the foxes never leave.
தொழற்பாலதே
deserves to be worshipped.

பரிதியானை
Civaṉ who dwells in the sun.
பல்வேறு சமயங்கள் கருதியானை
who is sought by many different religions.
கண்டார் மனம்மேவிய பிரிதியானை
who has the affection to remain in the minds of people who have realised the truth.
பிறர் அறியாதது ஓர் சுருதியானை
who has a vētam which others except himself do not know.
தொழற்பாலதே
deserves to be worshipped.

ஆதியானை
Civaṉ who was self-existing before all things.
அமரர் தொழப்படும் நீதியானை
who is the right conduct worshipped by the immortals.
நியம நெறிகளை ஓதியானை
who gave out the paths of moral and religious duties which are routine.
உணர்தற்கு அரியது ஓர் சோதியானை
the light divine which is difficult to be realised.
தொழற்பாலதே
deserves to be worshipped.

ஞாலத்தானை
Civaṉ who has the world as one of his forms.
நல்லானை
who has a good nature.
வல்லார் (1) தொழும் கோலத்தானை
who has a beauty worshipped by able people who have experience of god.
குணப்பெருங்குன்றினை
who has noble character (literally a hill of great qualities)
மூலத்தானை
who is the source of all things.
முதல்வனை
who is the chief.
மூஇலைச் சூலத்தானை
who has a trident of three blades.
தொழற்பாலதே
deserves to be worshipped.

ஆதிப்பால் அட்ட மூர்த்தியை
Civaṉ who has eight visible forms and who came into existence before all other things.
ஆன் அஞ்சும் வேதிப்பானை
who smears on him the five products of the cow.
நம்மேல்வினைவெந்து அறச்சாதிப்பானை
who bestows his grace to remove the acts that remain with us after completely burning them.
தவத்திடை மாற்றங்கள் சோதிப்பானை
who tests our penance in which faults occur, and bestows his grace.
தொழற்பாலரே
deserves to be worshipped.

நீற்றினானை
Civaṉ who smears himself with the sacred ash.
நிகர் இல் வெண்கோவணக் கீற்றினானை
who wears a piece of cloth and a white and unequalled loin-cloth.
கிளர் ஒளிச் செஞ்சடை ஆற்றினானை
who bears on his red caṭai which has increasing brightness a river.
அமரர்தம் ஆர் உயிர் தோற்றினானை
who granted the precious lives of the immortals by consuming the poison.
தொழற்பாலதே
deserves to be worshipped.

விட்டிட்டானை மெய்ஞ்ஞானத்து மெய்ப்பொருள்
Civaṉ who revealed the knowledge of god which is true wisdom.
கனங்குழைபால் அன்பு கட்டிட்டானை
being united with Umai who wears heavy ear-rings.
அன்புபட்டிட்டானை
who is bound by the bond of love.
பகைத்தவர் முப்புரம் சுட்டிட்டானை
and who burnt the three cities of the enemies.
தொழிற்பாலதே
deserves to be worshipped.

முற்றினானை
Civaṉ who is complete in himself.
இராவணன் நீள் முடி ஒற்றினானை ஒருவிரலால் ஊற
who pressed down very closely with one toe the tall crowns of Irāvaṇaṉ.
ஒள் வெண்டலை பற்றினானை
who holds a white skull in his hand.
பாம்பு அரைச் சுற்றினானை
and who wound round his waist a cobra.
