படையும் பூதமும் பாம்பும் புல்வாய் அதள் உடையும் தாங்கிய உத்தமனார்க்கு இடம்
the place of the supreme being, Civaṉ, who bore weapon, pūtams, cobra, a dress made of deer skin.
புடை நிலாவிய பூம் பொழில் வாஞ்சியம் அடையவல்லவர்க்கு அல்லல் ஒன்று இல்லை
there will not be the slightest suffering for those who can reach Vāñciyam which has flower-gardens which are thriving on all sides.

பறப்பையும் பசுவும் படுத்துப் பல திறத்தவும்(ம்) உடையோர் திகழும் பதி
the city where brahmins who have construction a dia's for sacrificial fire in the form of a bird and offered a sacrifical animal and many other things.

reach tiruvāñciyam which has the eminence of being the abode of Civaṉ who has a frontal eye and who has on his catai a crescent with a dark spot, (People of this world!)

சுற்றும் மாடங்கள் சூழ் திருவாஞ்சியம் புற்றில் ஆடு 1. அரவோடு புனல் மதி தெற்று செஞ்சடைத் தேவர் பிரான் பதி
the city of the master of the tēvar who has on his red catai a dancing cobra that lives in the anthill, water and crescent, becoming interwined, which is tiruvāñciyam surrounded by mansions all round.
பற்றிப் பாடுவார்க்குப் பாவம் இல்லையே
there will no sins to those who sing about its greatness reaching it.

அங்கம் ஆறும் அருமறை நான் குடன் தங்கு வேள்வியர் தாம் பயிலும் நகர்
the city where brahmins who perform sacrifices and retain in their mind the six ankams and all the four abstruse vētams.
செங்கண் மால் இடம் ஆர் திரு வாஞ்சியம் தங்குவார் நம் அமரர்க்கு அமரரே
our immortal Civaṉ who is the chief of the immortals will stay in tiruvāñciyam with red-eyed Māl being on his left side.

நீறு பூசி நிமிர் சடைமேல் பிறை ஆறு சூடும் அடிகள் உறைபதி
the place of the god who wears on his erect catai, having smeared sacred ash, a crescent and a river.
மாறு தான் ஒருங்கும் வயல் வாஞ்சியம் தேறி வாழ்பவர்க்குச் செல்வம் ஆகுமே
wealth will increase to those who live with a clear idea that vāñciyam which has fields where the weeds that are enemies of crops become perished, is our refuge.

having given up all desires and without two kinds of attachments.
யாரையும் இல்லவர்க்கு
to those who have none to support them.
உற்ற நல் துணை ஆவான்
Civaṉ who is the trutworthy and good companion.
உறைபதி
place where he dwells,
தெற்று மாடங்கள் சூழ் திருவாஞ்சியம்
vāñciyam surrounded by crowded mansions.
கற்றுச் சேர்பவர்க்குக் கருத்து ஆவதே
is the intention for those learned people to reach that place.

அருக்கன், அங்கி, யமனொடு தேவர்கள் திருத்தும் சேவடியான் திகழும் நகர்
the city where Civaṉ who has red lotus feet which are adorned by the sun-god, god of fire, the god of death and other immortals.
ஒருத்திபாகம் உகந்தவன் வாஞ்சியம்
which is desired by Civaṉ as his half a lady.
அருத்தியால் அடைவார்க்கு அல்லல் இல்லை
there will be no afflictions to those who reach that place with love.
