Civaṉ who is as valuable as pearls?
மணியை
precious stones.
பவளத்து ஒளிர் தொத்தினை
bunch of shining coral,
சுடர்ச் சோதியை
the light radiating lustre.
சோலை சூழ் கொத்து அலர் குரங்காடுதுறை உறை அத்தனென்ன
when I say, and the father who dwells in Kuraṅkāṭūtuṟai surrounded by gardens and where bunches of flowers blossom.
அண்ணித் திட்டு இருந்ததே
that Lord tasted sweet to my mind

குளிர் புனல் குரங்காடுதுறையனை
Civaṉ who is in Kuraṅkāṭutuṟai of cool water.
தளிர் நிறத்தையல் பங்கனை
who has as his half a young lady whose complexion is like the tender leaves. (here தளிர் means the red tender leaves of the mango trees.)
தண் மதி ஒளியனை(ந்) நினைந் தேனுக்கு
to me who fixed the thoughts on him who is as bright as the cool moon.
என் உள்ளமும் தெளிவினைத் தெளியத் தெளிந்திட்டது
my mind became definitely very clear about the thing on which one should have clear ideas.

மணவன்(காண்)
Civaṉ is the eternal bridegroom
மலையாள் நெடு மங்கலக் கணவன் (காண்)
he is the husband who confers everlasting auspiciousness on the daughter of the mountain.
கலை ஞானிகள் காதல் எண் குணவன்(காண்)
has the eight attributes which are cherished with love by people who possess knowledge of arts.
குரங்காடுதுறைதனில் அன்பு செய்யும் அடியார்க்கு அணவன்
is near at hand in Kuraṅkāṭutuṟai, to his devotees who love him.

ஞாலத்தார் தொழுது ஏத்திய நன்மையன்
Civaṉ has all the good things which are praised and worshipped by the people of the world.
காலத்தான் உயிர் போக்கிய காலினன்
the removed kicking with his leg the life of Kālaṉ (god of death).
நீலத்து ஆர் 1. மிடற்றான்
has a neck which has dark blue colour.
வெள்ளை நீறு அணி கோலத்தான்
has beautifully smeared himself with the white sacred ash.
குரங்காடுதுறையன்
such a god is in Kuraṅkāṭutuṟai

He tossed me in the company of amaṇar, early in my life.
தன் பொன் அடிக்கு இன்னிசை பாட்டினான்
caused me to sing sweet songs in praise of his feet as valuable as gold.
வினை வீட்டினான்
destroyed all my Karmams.
குரங்காடுதுறையன் மெய் அடியாரொடும் கூட்டினான்
the Lord in Kuraṅkāṭutuṟai united me with his sincere devotees.

Civaṉ has greatness according to the mannar mentioned in the vētams.

devotees who are our relations!
குரங்காடுதுறையை நாடி
going to Kuraṅkāṭutuṟai.
ஆடுமின்
dance of out of joy.
அழுமின்
weep shedding tears of joy.
தொழுமின்
worship with joined hands.
அடி பாடுமின்
sing the praises of his feet.
பரமன் பயிலும் இடம் கூடுமின்
gather in that place where the supreme being dwells always.

தென்றல் நல் நெடுந் தேர் உடையான் உடல் பொன்ற வெங்கனல் பொங்க விழித்தவன்
Civaṉ opened his frontal eye to make hot fire to burst in anger to completely destroy the body of Kāmaṉ who has his tall and good chariot the balmy breeze that blows from the south.
[[It is a poetical convention that cupid has the balmy breeze from the south as his chariot.]]
அன்ற அந்தகனை அயிற் சூலத்தால் கொன்றவன் குரங்காடுதுறையன்
the god in Kuraṅkāṭūtuṟai killed with the sharp trident the acuraṉ by name antakaṉ as he was inimical.
