பொரும் ஆற்றின்
in the manner of fighting with enemies.
படை வேண்டி
requiring a weapon.
ஆற்றின் வரும் நற்பூம் புனல் மலர்கொண்டு வழிபடும் கருமாற்கு இன் அருள் செய்தவன் காண்தகு திருமாற்பேறு தொழ வினை தேயுமே
all the acts, good and bad, will become weak if one worships beautiful Māṟpēṟu of Civaṉ who granted a weapon to the black Māl, when he worshipped Civaṉ with flowers and brilliant water which flowed in the river.

ஆலத்து ஆர் நிழலில்(ல்) அறம் நால்வர்க்குக் கோலத்தால் உரை செய்தவன்
Civaṉ who expounded religions instruction by his beautiful posture in the extensive shade of the banyan tree, to four sages.
குற்றம் இல் மாலுக்கு ஆர் அருள் செய்தவன் மாற்பேறு ஏலத்தான் தொழுவார்க்கு இடர் இல்லையே
there will be no sufferings to those who worship in the proper way māṟpēṟu of Civaṉ who granted his grace in an abundant measure to Māl who is without faults.

துணி வண்ணச் சுடர் ஆழி கொள்வான் எண்ணி
with the idea of getting a brilliant discus which has the nature of cutting the enemies.
அணி வண்ணத்து அலர் கொண்டு அடி அர்ச்சித்த மணி வண்ணற்கு அருள் செய்தவன் மாற்பேறு 1. பணி வண்ணத் தவர்க்கு இல்லை ஆம் பாவமே
there will be no sins to those who have the nature of saying homage to māṟpēṟu of Civaṉ who granted a discus to Māl who has the colour of the sapphire and who worshipped scattering beautiful and colourful flowers at the feet of Civaṉ.

தீதவை செய்து
committing evil acts.
தீவினை வீழாதே
without falling into sin.
காதல் செய்து கருத்தினில் 1. நின்ற நல் மாதவர் பயில் மாற்பேறு கை தொழ
to worship with joined hands māṟpēṟu where great and good sages whose minds Civaṉ occupied permanently and who cherished him with love.

(People of this world!) go there
நும் வினை ஆயின போகுமே
all your acts will go away from you.

வார் கொள் மென் முலை மங்கை ஒர் பங்கினன்
Civaṉ has on one half a young lady wearing a bodice on her breasts.
வார் கொள் நன் முரசம் மறை அவ்வறை
the good nuracu (a drum) fastered with leather-straps and vētams produce a sound.
வார் கொள் பைம் பொழில் மாற்பேறு கை தொழுவார்கள் மன்னுவர் பொன் உலகத்திலே
those who worship with joined hands māṟpēṟu which has tall and verdant gardens, where bees hum beautifully will dwell permanently in heaven which is made of gold.

பண்டை வல்வினை பற்று அறுக்கும் வகை உண்டு
there is a way of completely destroying irresistable acts done in previous births.

I shall tell you how it could be done.
கேண்மின்
(People of this world) listen to me.
ஒளி கிளர் வண்டு சேர் பொழில் சூழ் திருமாற்பேறு கண்டு கைதொழத் தீரும் கவலையே
your cares will come to an end if you visit and worship with joined hands māṟpēṟu which has gardens in which bees of shining colour swarm.

there will be no sufferings to those who are able to worship with joined hands māṟpēṟu of Civaṉ who grants his grace which has no defect along with happiness, bestowing love on those who can weep uttering with joy the holy names of the god who can wield a battle-axe.

முன்னவன் உலகுக்கு
Civaṉ existed even before the world came into existence;

முழுமணிப் பொன்னவன்
is the unpierced gem, and gold.
திகழ் முத்தொடு போகம் ஆம் மன்னவன் திருமாற்பேறு கை தொழும் அன்னவர் எமை ஆள் உடையார்களே
such great people who worship with joined hands tirumāṟpēṟu of the King who is the object of enjoyment along with shining pearls; shall admit us as their slaves.

வேடனாய் விசய(ன்)னொடும் எய்து
discharging an arrow (on the pig that came to kill) along with Vicayaṉ, assuming the form of a hunter.
வெங்காடு நீடு உகந்து ஆடிய கண்ணுதல்
Civaṉ with a frontal eye who danced in the hot cremation ground desiring it very much.
மாடம் நீடு உயரும் நெடுமாற்பேறு பாடுவார்
those who sing the fame of his tirumāṟpēṟu where storeys are very high
பெறுவார் பரலோகமே
will attain the supreme world of Civaṉ.

கருத்தனாய்
thinking that he was the chief.
கயிலாய மலைதனைத் தருக்கினால் எடுத்தானைத் தகரவே வருத்தி
causing pain by breaking to pieces the arakkaṉ who, lifted the mountain, Kayilāyam out of arrogance.
ஆர் அருள் செய்தவன் மாற்பேறு அருத்தியால் தொழுவார்க்கு அல்லல் இல்லையே
there will be no sufferings to those who worship with hands joined, māṟpēṟu, out of desire, of Civaṉ who bestowed his rare grace on the arakkaṉ afterwards.
