Though Civaṉ who has on one half the daughter of the himalaya mountain of distinctive excellence and though he wears on his head a curved crescent
நாறு பூம் பொழில் நாரையூர் நம்பனுக்கு ஆறு சூடலும் அம்ம அழகிதே
Bearing the river Kaṅkai also is wonderfully beautiful to the god, Civaṉ, in nāraiyūr which has fragrant flower gardens

புள்ளி கொண்ட புலி உரி ஆடையும்
the dress of a tiger's skin which has spots.
வெள்ளி கொண்ட வெண் பூதிமெய் ஆடலும்
Besmearing his body with white holy ash which is like silver in colour
நள்ளி தெண்திரை நாரையூரான் நஞ்சை அள்ளி உண்டலும் அம்ம அழகிதே
the god in nāraiyūr which has water of clear waves in which crabs live even drinking the poison taking it in the hollow of his hands is wonderfully beautiful

நாடு தங்கிய நாரையூரான்
Civaṉ in nāraiyūr who has a fame staying in the country
வேடு தங்கிய வேடமும்
even the disguise of a hunter
வெண் தலை ஓடு தங்கிய உண் பலி கொள்கையும்
and receiving alms intended for eating, which is placed in the white skull
நடம் ஆடு பைங்கழல் அம்ம அழகிதே
the feet wearing anklets for dancing all these have beauty and wonder

கொக்கின் 1. தூவலும் கூவிளங்கண்ணியும் மிக்க வெண்தலை மாலை விரிசடை நக்கன் ஆகிலும்
though Civaṉ is naked and has on his spread-out catai a garland of white skulls and a chaplet of vilvam and the white flower which resembles the feather of a crane.
நாரையூர் நம்பனுக்கு அக்கின் ஆரமும் அம்ம அழகிதே
the garland of bones is also beautiful and wonderful to Civaṉ in nāraiyūr

வடி கொள் வெண் மழு மான் அமர் கைகளும்
the hands in which are held a sharp white fire, and a deer
பொடி கொள் செம்பவளம் புரை மேனியும்
and a complexion that resembles the red coral on which holy ash is smeared
நடி கொள் நன் மயில் சேர் திரு நாரையூர் அடிகள் தம் வடிவு அம்ம அழகிதே
and the body of the god in nāraiyūr where beautiful peacocks that dance gather together, is beautiful and wonderful.

ஞாலம் மல்கிய நாரையூர் நம்பனுக்கு
For civan in nāraiyūr which has increasing fame in this world
சுடரொடு சூலம் மல்கிய கையும்
the hand that holds the trident with brightness
பாலும் நெய் (உம்) தயிர் (உம்) ஆடிய பான்மையும்
and his nature of bathing in milk, ghee and curd
ஆல நீழலும் அம்ம அழகிது
and the shade of the banyan tree are wonderful and beautiful

நாரையூர் அண்ணலார் செய்கை
the actions of the chief in nāraiyūr such as
பண்ணின் நான் மறை பாடல் (உம்) ஆடலும்
singing the four vētams with melodies, and dancing
1. எண்ணிலார் புரம் மூன்று எரி செய்தலும்
burning the three cities of the enemies
நண்ணினார் துயர் தீர்த்தலும்
and removing the sufferings of those who take refuge in him
அம்ம அழகிதே
are wonderful and beautiful

எருது ஏறி
and riding on a bull
இளம் பிறை மின் புரிந்த சடைமேல் விளங்க
and the young crescent to shine on the catai which resmebles lightning
நன்பகல் பலி தேரினும்
though Civaṉ begs alms in the daytime when one could enjoy pleasure.
நாரையூர் அன்பனுக்கு அது அம்ம அழகிது
to Civaṉ who is attached to nāraiyūr that act is wonderful and beautiful

முரலும் கின்னரம் மொந்தை முழங்க
when Kiṉṉaram which produces a sweet sound and a drum with one face to make a sound of high pitch (Kiṉṉaram - a musical intrument) are played
நீடு 1. உலாம் இரவில் நின்று எரி ஆடலும்
Dancing in the fire standing at night which is very long
நரலும் வாரி நல் நாரையூர் நம்பனுக்கு
to Civaṉ in nāraiyūr which has floods making a big sound
அரவும் பூணுதல் அம்ம அழகிது
even wearing the cobras as ornaments is wonderful and beautiful

1. கடுக்கை அம் சடையன் கயிலைம் மலை எடுத்த வாள் அரக்கன் தலை ஈர் அஞ்சும் நடுக்கம் வந்து இற
the ten heads of the cruel arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain of Kayilai which belongs to Civaṉ who adorns his caṭai with flowers of koṉṟai to be split trembling
நாரையூரான் விரல் அடுத்த தன்மையும்
pressing down gently with his toe
அம்ம அழகிது
is wonderful and beautiful
