Civaṉ has a neck like the sapphire
நீள் சடைக் கோல மாமதி கங்கையும் கூட்டினார்
united on his long caṭai the beautiful crescent and Kaṅkai
சூலம் மான் மழு ஏந்தி
holding a trident, deer and a battle-axe
சுடர் முடிப் பால் நெய் ஆடுவர் பாலைத்துறையர்
the god in Pālaittuṟai will bathe in milk and ghee on his shining head.

கவளம் மால் களிற்றின் உரி போர்த்தவர்
Civaṉ covered himself with the skin of big elephant which eats balls of rice or other food
தவள வெண்ணகை மங்கை ஓர் பங்கினர்
has on one half a lady whose teeth are extremely white
திவள வானவர் போற்றித் திசை தொழும் பவள மேனியர் பாலைத்துறையரே
Civaṉ in pālaittuṟai has a holy form like coral, who is worshipped by joined hands towards the direction where he dwells by the celestials so that they may shine prominently;

மின்னின் நுண்ணிடைக் கன்னியர் மிக்கு எங்கும் பொன்னி நீர் மூழ்கி
virigins who have a minute waist like the lightning gather in large numbers and bathe in the river poṉṉi.
அடி தொழ மன்னி
staying permanently to worship his feet.
நான் மறையோடு பல் கீதமும் பன்னினார் அவர் பாலைத்துறையர்
god in pālaittuṟai sang many songs together with the four vētams.

நீடு காடு இடமாய் நின்ற பேய்க்கணம் கூடு பூதம் குழுமி நின்று ஆர்க்கவே ஆடினார்
Civaṉ danced when the groups of pēy which have the cremation ground as their dwelling place and the putams joining them, roared together
அழகு ஆகிய நான் மறை பாடினார் அவர் பாலைத்துறையரே
Civaṉ in pālaittuṟai sang the beautiful four vētams.

சித்தர், கன்னியர், தேவர்கள், தானவர், பித்தர், நான்மறைவேதியர் பேணிய அத்தனே
`our father who is desired by people who possess eight mystic powers, virgins, tēvar, acurar, mad people, and brahmins who have learnt the four vētams!
நமை ஆள் உடையாய் எனும் பத்தர் கட்கு அன்பர் பாலைத்துறையரே
Civaṉ in pālaittuṟai has love towards the devotees who say, `one who admits us as your protege!'

விண்ணினார் பணிந்து ஏத்த வியப்பு உறும் மண்ணினார் மறவாது சிவாய என்று எண்ணினார்க்கு இடமா எழில் வானகம் பண்ணினார் அவர் பாலைத்துறையரே
Civaṉ in pālaittuṟai created the beautiful heaven as the place for the inhabitants of this world who always meditated upon the mantiram `civāya' without forgetting it, with wonder when the celestials who are superior bow to, and praise, Civaṉ.

Civaṉ is the preceptor
கொடு கொட்டியும் கொக்கரை பண் கெழுமிய வீணையும் விரவினார்
he harmonized the instruments Kotukoṭṭi, Kokkarai and vīṇai on which melodies can be played.
மருவு நாள் மலர் மல்லிகை செண்பகம் பரவு நீர்ப் பொன்னிப் பாலைத்துறையரே
Civaṉ in pālaittuṟai on the banks of the river poṉṉi which has on its water jasmine flowers blossoming in the early morning, and champak which are spread on the surface.

தொடரும் தொண்டரைத்துக்கம் தொடர்ந்து வந்து அடரும் போது அரனாய் அருள் செய்பவர்
Civaṉ who grants his grace as araṉ at the time when sufferings which come in succession afflict devotees who had taken refuge in him since a long time. (araṉ = haraṉ; one who destroys)
கடலின் நஞ்சு அணி கண்டர்
has a neck which adorns itself with the poison that rose in the sea.
கடிபுனல் படரும் செஞ்சடைப் பாலைத்துறையரே
is he who is in pālaittuṟai and on whose red catai the rushing water spreads.

Civaṉ in pālaittuṟai
மேகம் தோய் பிறை சூடுவர்
wears a crescent that touches the clouds.
மேகலை நாகம் தோய்ந்த அரையினர்
wears on his waist a cobra as a jewelled girdle
நல்லியல் போகம் தோய்ந்த புணர் முலை மங்கை ஓர் பாகம் தோய்ந்தவர்
has on his half a lady of distinction who has breasts close to each other which has good qualities for embracing.

பாலைத்துறையர்
Civaṉ in pālaittuṟai
வெங்கண் வாள் அரவு ஆட்டி வெருட்டுவர்
will frighten people by making the bright and cruel cobra to dance spreading its hood.
அம் கணார்
has beautiful eyes (The beauty for the eyes is compassionate looks)
அடியார்க்கு அருள் நல்குவர்
will grant his grace to his devotees.
செங்கண் மால் அயன் தேடற்கு அரியவர்
is difficult to be searched by Māl of red eyes and Ayaṉ (Piramaṉ)
பைங்கண் ஏற்றினர்
has a bull which has tender eyes.

உரத்தினால் அரக்கன் உயர் மாமலை நெருக்கினானை நெரித்து
crushing the arakkaṉ who frightened the daughter of the mountain uprooting the high and great mountain by his strength
அவன் பாடலும் இரக்கமா அருள் செய்த பாலைத்துறை கரத்தினால் தொழுவார் வினை ஓயுமே
the Karmams of those who worship with joined hands pālaittuṟai which granted his grace taking pity on him, as soon as he sang the praises of Civaṉ, will come to an end.
