my mind.
பண்டு செய்த பழவினையின் பயன் கண்டும் கண்டும் களித்தி காண்
you rejoice experiencing the fruits of the deeds of the former births, many times

வண்டு உலாம் மலர்ச் செஞ்சடை ஏகம்பன் தொண்டனாய்த் திரியாய் துயர் தீரவே
you wander as the slave of the Lord in Ēkampam who has a red caṭai which wears flowers on which bees fly to and fro, for your sufferings to be removed

நச்சி நாளும் நயந்து அடியார் தொழ இச்சையால் உமை நங்கை வழிபட
having come to know that Umai, a lady of distinction worshipped Civaṉ by her own will, and the devotees daily worship with joined hands with desire and esteem.
செறி தீம் பொழில் கச்சி ஏகம்பம் கொச்சையார் குறுகார்
despicable people will not approach Ēkampam in Kacci which has pleasant and dense gardens.

வானில் ஆவி இயங்கி
moving as the life in the bodies
உலகு எலாம் தான் உலாவிய தன்மையர் ஆகிலும்
though he has the nature of pervading the whole world.
வான் உலாவிய பாணி 1. பிறங்க வெங்கானில் ஆடுவர்
will dance in the hot cremation ground, the sound of the measure of time to be heard loftily in the sky.

இமையா முக்கணர்
Civaṉ has three eyes which do not wink.
என் நெஞ்சத்து உள்ளவர்
dwells in my heart.
தமை யாரும்(ம்) அறிவு நண்ணத் தகைமையர்
has greatness which none, however great, can really know.
இமையோர் ஏத்த இருந்தவன் ஏகம்பன்
the Lord in ēkampam remains there to be praised by the celestials who do not wink.
நமை ஆளும்(ம்) அவனைத் தொழுமின்கள் (ஏ)
(People of this world!) worship him with joined hands who admits us as his protege.

பொருந்தி நின்று
being united with me.
எனக்கு மருந்தினொடு நற்சுற்றமும் மக்களும் ஆய எம் புண்ணியன்
our god who is the embodiment of all virtuous acts and who is to me medicine, well-wishing reltions and children.
கருந்தடங்கண்ணினாள் உமைகைதொழ இருந்தவன்
who remained to be worshipped with joined hands by Umai who has big and black eyes.
ஏகம்பத்து எந்தையே
is our father who dwells in ēkampam.

பொருளினோடு நற்சுற்றமும் பற்று இலர்க்கு அருளும் நன்மை தந்து ஆய அரும் பொருள்
the rare thing which does good, grants wealth well-wishing relations and his grace to those who have not other support.
சுருள் கொள் செஞ்சடையான் கச்சி ஏகம்பன் இருள் கெடச் சென்று கை தொழுது எத்துமே
(People of this world!) praise and worship with joined hands ēkampam in Kacci of Civaṉ who has red curly caṭai, going there, so that your ignorance might perish.

மூக்கு வாய் செவி கண் உடல் ஆகி வந்து ஆக்கும் ஐவர் தம் ஆப்பை அவிழ்த்து
removing the bandage of the five organs of senses namely nose, tongue, ears, eyes and body which bind people.
அருள் நோக்குவான் நமை
Civaṉ will bestow his benign looks of grace on us.
நோய் வினை வாராமே காக்கும் நாயகன் கச்சி ஏகம்பனே
is the master who protects us from diseases approaching in and dwells in ēkampaṉ in Kacci.

is the sweet taste in fruits.

has no clour of his own.
வடிவு வேறு ஆயவன்
he has different forms.
கண்ணில் உண் மணி
is the apple of the eye;

being the unequalled one, the pure knowledge and the master in the embryo which has no intelligence (Civaṉ pervades all animate and inanimate things)

(People of this world!) Do not place your love on ladies who have beautiful bodies, breasts looking upwards, young and soft and a small, dwindled waist.
பொடி கொள் மேனியான்
Civaṉ who smears on his body holy ash.
பூம் பொழிற் கச்சியுள் அடிகள் எம்மை அருந்துயர் தீர்ப்பர் (ஏ)
the deity in Kacci which has flower-gardens will remove our sufferings which are difficult to be overcome by our own efforts.

இலங்கை வேந்தன் இராவணன் சென்று தன் விலங்கிலை எடுக்க (வ்) விரல் ஊன்றலும்
as soon as Civaṉ fixed firmly his toe when Irāvaṇaṉ the King of ilaṅkai lifted the mountain, Kayilai belonging to Civaṉ.
கலங்கிக் கச்சி ஏகம்பவோ என்றலும்
when he praised, the Lord ēkampa in Kacci! having become confounded.
எங்கள் நாதன் நலம் கொள் செல்வு அளித்தான்
our master granted him wealth which could do good
