[[These ten verses are the speech of the fostermother who tries to console her daughter who suffers having fallen in love with the Lord. This is akapporuḷ]]

{$} வண்ணமும் வடிவும் சென்று கண்டிலள்
(This girl) has not gone and seen the (lord's) colour and form.
எண்ணி நாமங்கள் ஏத்தி நிறைந்திலன்
she has not attained peace of mind by meditating upon him and chanting his names
[[she is not content with the twin acts of meditation and chanting of his names]]
கண் உலாம்பொழில் சூழ் கழிப்பாலை எம் அண்ணலே இவள் தன்மை அறிவான்
only the exalted one in Kaḻippālai which is surrounded by spacious gardens can know this daughter's nature

{$} மருந்து (உண்டு) வானவர் உய்ய
in order that celestial beings may survive by partaking of nectar.
நஞ்சு உகந்து உண்டு இருந்தவன்
one who was without any bad effects after having drunk the poison with pleasure.
கழிப் பாலையுள் எம்பிரான் திருந்து சேவடி சிந்தையுள் வைத்து
thinking in her mind about the perfect feet, of our Lord in Kaḻippālai.
பரிந்துரைக்கிலும் இவள் என்சொல் பழிக்கும்
If I tell her the means of removing her distress speaking affectionately this girl ridicules my words.

{$} மழலைதான் வர
speaking only lisping words that come out of her mouth.
சொல்தெரிகின்றிலள்
she does not know other words to express her minds.
குழலின் நேர்மொழிகூறிய கேண்மின்
(Ladies!) Please hear what the girl who speaks sweet words like the music of the flute, said.
அழகனே! கழிப்பாலை எம் அண்ணலே!
Oh beautiful one! exalted god in Kaḻippālai!
(எனை) இகழ்வதோ
is it right on your part to neglect me?
எனை ஏற்றுகொள்என்னும்
she says pleace accept me (as your devotee!)

{$} செய்ய மேனி வெண்ணீறு அணிவான்தனை மையலாகி
having infatuation of love with the god who smears white ash on his red form.

ஆரையும் மதிக்கிலன்
she does not mind anyone.
கை கொள் வெண்மழுவன்
one who has a white fire in his hand.
கழிப்பாலை எம் ஐயனே
only the Lord in Kaḻippālai.
இவள் தன்மை அறிவான்
can know this girl's nature.

{$} கருத்தனை
one who is in the minds of people.
கழிப்பாலையுள் மேவிய ஒருத்தனை
the unequalled one in Kaḻippālai.
உமையாள் ஒருபங்கனை
one who has Umayāl on one half.
அருத்தியாற்சென்று கண்டிட வேண்டுமென்று
thinking with desire, I must go and see him personally'.
ஒருத்தி ஆர் உளம் ஊசல் (அது) ஆடுமே
the mind of one girl which is full of love, is going forwards and backwards like a swing.
[[The desire to see God drags her forward; but the shyness due to the derision of others pushes her back]]

{$} கங்கையைச் சடைவைத்து
Having placed Kaṅkai in the matted locks of hair.
மலைமகள் மங்கையை உடனே வைத்த மணாளனார்
he is the bridegroom who kept by his side a lady who is the daughter of the mountain.
திங்கள் சூடித்திருக்கழிப்பாலையான்
the Lord in Tirukkaḻippālai and is wearing the crescent.
இங்கு வந்திடும் என்று இறுமாக்குமே
she feels proud that he would definitely come to her (searching for her).

{$} ஐயனே
Lord!
அழகே
the very embodiment of beauty!
அனல் ஏந்திய கையனே
one who holds in his hand fire!
மைஉலாம் பொழில்சூழ் கழிப்பாலையுள் ஐயனே
the Lord in Kaḻippālai surrounded by gardens on which clouds traverse.
விதியே
one who ordains everything!
அருள்என்னும்
she says, bestow grace on me!

{$} பத்தர்கட்கு அமுதாய பரத்தினை
the supreme one who is as sweet as nectar to his devotees.
முத்தனை
one who is free from all bondage naturally.
முடிவு ஒன்று இலா மூர்த்தியை
the one who assumed a form for which there is no end.
அத்தனை
the father.
அணிஆர் கழிப்பாலை எம் சித்தனை
our Lord who is capable of performing miracles and who is in Kaḻippālai which has great beauty
[[சித்தன்: சித்து+அன் the knowledge itself;
சித்தம்: mind
சித்தன்: one who is in my mind]]
சென்று சேருமா (று) செப்பும்
she talks about going and joining him.

she who knocked out the ten heads of arakkaṉ who has a sword and big crowns of gold.
கழிப்பாலையுள் எம்பிரான் என்செயான்
what is there that our Lord in Kaḻippālai cannot do?
துஞ்சும் போதும் துணைஎனல்ஆகும்
he will be our guide even at the time of death.
