கடவூரின் மயானத்தார் பெருமானடிகள்: the divine being who dwells in Kaṭavūr Mayāṉam.
குழைகொள் காதினர்: wears a men's ear-ring in the right ear.
கோவண ஆடையர்: dresses in a loin-cloth
உழையர்: holds a deer in his hand (is near at hand to devotees)
பழைய தம் அடியார் செய்த பாவமும் பிழையும் தீர்ப்பர்: will remove the sins and wrongs committed by his hereditary devotees.

கடவூரின் மயானத்தார்: see 1st verse.
உன்னி வானவர் ஓதிய சிந்தையில் கன்னல் தேன்: when the celestials utter his names, he is as sweet as the juice of the sugar cane and honey, in their minds.
தன்னை நோக்கித்தொழுது எழுவார்க்கு எலாம் பின்னை என்னார்: he will not say `we shall grant our grace sometime later' but grants it at once to those who think of him and worship him with joined hands.

கடவூர் மயானத்தார் பெருமானடிகள்: see 1st verse
சூலம் ஏந்துவர்: holds a trident
தோல் உடை ஆடையர்: has a dress and upper garment of skin.
ஆலம் உண்டு அமுதே மிகத் தேக்குவர்: will consume the poison himself and give sumptuously nectar to others (gives out the smell of nectar when belching)
காலகாலர்: is himself the god of death to Kālaṉ (god of death)
மாலை மார்பர்: wears a garland of koṉṟai on his chest.

இமையோர் தொழு பைங்கழல் இறைவனார்: is the Lord whose feet the celestials worship.
மறவனார்: assumed the form of a hunter to grant a weapon to aruccuṉaṉ
அடியார் அறவனார்: is the embodiment of all virtues to his devotees.
அடியார் தங்கள் பிறவி தீர்ப்பர்: will remove rebirth to his devotees

கத்து காளி கதம் தணித்தவர்: had the anger of roaring Kāḷi reduced (by his dance)
மத்தர் (தாம்): wears datura flowers
ஒத்து ஒவ்வாதன செய்து உழல்வார் ஒரு பித்தர் (காணும்): is like a mad man who does acts conforming to morals and non-conforming to them.

எரி கொள் மேனி இளம் பிறை வைத்தவர்: Civaṉ has a body of fire and placed a crescent (on his head)
கரியர் (தாம்): has an elephant by name ayirāvaṇam.
அண்டத்துளோர் அயன் மாலுக்கும் அரியர்: is difficult to be seen by the tēvar, Ayaṉ and even Māl.
பெரியர்: has greatness.
காணும்: (People!) you inderstand this.

{$} அணங்கு பாகத்தர்: Civaṉ has a lady as his half
ஆரண நான் மறை கணங்கள் சேர் கடவூர் மயனத்தார் பெருமானடிகள்: the divine being who is in Kaṭavur mayāṉam, is worshipped by the four vētams which have āraṇam as their part, and pūta kaṇams (ஆரணம் நான் மறை āraṇam can be put in apposition with நான் மறை ; that is another meaning.)
வணங்கு வார் இடர் தீர்ப்பர்: will remove the sufferings of those who bow to him.
மயக்கு உறும் பிணம் கொள் காடர்: has as his place the cremation ground where there are corpses which increase one's confusion.

மரவு சேர் கடவூரின் மயானத்தார் பெருமானடிகள்: the divine being in Kaṭavūr mayāṉam where common Kaṭampa trees are growing densely (மரவு-மரா)
அரவுகையினர்: holds a cobra in his hand
ஆதிபுராணனார்: the old one who came self-existing before the world was created.
பரவுவார் இடர் தீர்ப்பர்: will remove the sufferings of those who praise him.
பிரமன் மாற்கும் பணிகொள்வர்: will accept the services of Piramaṉ and Māl.
