Civaṉ in the Kolli hill;

குளிர் தூங்கு குற்றாலத்தான்
who is in Kuṟṟālam of intense cold
புல்லியார் புரம் மூன்று எரி செய்தவன்
burnt the three cities of the low acurar
நெல்லியான்
who is in Nellikka
நிலையான நெய்த்தானனைச் சொல்லி மெய் தொழுவார் சுடர் வாணரே
those who worship Civaṉ in permanent Neyttāṉam uttering his names sincerely, will receive illumination of the mind.

Civaṉ who begs alms
இடு வெண்தலை ஏந்தியை
who holds a white skull to place alms
பரவனை
who is pervading everywhere (one who is praised by all people) (பரவு to spread, to praise)
படை ஆர் மதில் மூன்றையும் நிரவனை
who razed and lavelled down the three forts which had many layers,
[[படையார் புரிசைப் பட்டினம் (campantar, pallavaṉiccaram, 1);
படை அமை இட்டி கை (peruṅkatai, ilāvāṇa Kāṇṭam, 5-41),
படை : weapons, படையார் மதில் : walls of enclosure in which weapons of war are kept; (cilappatīkāram, 15-207-218); Civakacintāmaṇi, is the meaning)
நிலையான நெய்த்தானனை
who is residing permanently in neyttāṉam
குரவனை
who is the first religious preceptor
தொழுவார்
those who worship Civaṉ with the above attributes
கொடிவாணர்
lead a life of righteousness

ஆர் இருள் கானிடை நடம் ஆடுவர் காண்மினோ
will dance in the cremation ground in the dense darkness; see him.
திடை மலர் பாயும் நெய்த்தானனை
in neyttāṉam where the honey flows from the flower
வானிடைத் தொழுவார்
those who worship Civaṉ in the recess of their hearts (வான் takara ākācam)
ஆனிடை ஐந்தும் ஆடுவார்
who bathes in the five products of the cow
வலிவாணரே
will live with great strength to overcome the Karmams

விண்டவர் புரம் மூன்றும் வெண்ணீறு எழக் கண்டவன்
Civaṉ who saw to it that from the three cities of the enemies, white ash rose.
கடிது ஆகிய நஞ்சினை உண்டவன்
consumed the cruel poison
ஒளியான நெய்த்தானனைத் தொண்டராய்த் தொழுவார்
those who worsip becoming the devotees of the lustrous god in neyttāṉam
சுடர் வாணர்
will live with internal illumination

முன் கை நோவக் கடைந்தவர் நிற்கவே
when those who churned the ocean of milk for their forearms to ache, were standing aside with fear.
சங்கியாது சமுத்திர நஞ்சு உண்டான்
Civaṉ consumed the poison which rose in the ocean, without any hesitation
நங்கையோடு நவின்ற நெய்த்தானனைத் தம் கையால் தொழுவார் தலைவாணரே
those who worship with their joined hands Civaṉ who is always in neyttāṉam with a lady of distinction, are people who live with excellence.

சுட்ட நீறு மெய் பூசி
besmearing his body with the holy ash which was got by burning all worlds and reducing them to ashes
நட்டம் ஆடுவர் நள்ளிருள் பேயோடு
will dance in the dense darkness along with pēy.
சிட்டர் வானவர் தேரும் நெய்த்தானனை இட்டமாய்த் தொழுவார்
those who worship with love Civaṉ in neyttāṉam whom the superior people and the celestials are still investigation to know his real nature
இன்பவாணரே
are people who live happily

கொள்ளித்தீ எரி வீசி
flourishing sparks of fire from the fire-brand (கொள்ளித்தீ should be re-arranged into தீக் கொள்ளி)
கொடியது ஓர் கள்ளிக் காட்டிடை ஆடுவர் (காண்மினோ)
Civaṉ dances in the cruel cremation ground where spurge grow.
தெள்ளித் தேறித் தெளிந்து நெய்த்தானனை உள்ளத்தால் தொழுவார்
those who worship with intention Civaṉ in neyttāṉam after sifting all philosophical works and coming to a decision and being firm in that decision.
உம்பர் வாணரே
shall live in heaven.

உச்சிமேல் விளங்கும் இள வெண்பிறைபற்றி ஆடு அரவோடும் சடைப் பெய்தான்
Civaṉ who placed on his caṭai a white crescent which shines in the sky, along with a dancing cobra, catching hold of it.
நெற்றி ஆரழல் கண்ட நெய்த்தானனைச் சுற்றி
going round the god in neyttāṉam from left to right, who created an eye of fire on his forehead;
[[நலம் மலி மங்கை நங்கை விளையாடி ஓடி நயனத்தலங்கள் கரமா, உலகினை ஏழு முற்றும் இருள் மூட மூட இருள் ஓட நெற்றி ஒரு கண், அலார்தர அஞ்சி மற்றை நயனம் கை விட்டு மடவாள் இறைஞ்ச மதிபோல் அலர் தரு சோதி போல அலர்வித்த முக்கணவன் ஆம் நமக்கு ஓர் சரணே (appar, tacapurāṇam 8);
மலை மடந்தை விளையாடி வளை ஆடு கரத்தால் மகிழ்ந்தவன் கண் புதைத்தலுமே வல்லிருளாய் எல்லா, உலகுடன் தான் இருள் மூட ஓடும் வகை நெற்றி ஒற்றைக்கண் படைத்துகந்த உத்தமன் ஊர் வினவில் - (cuntarar, Kalayanallūr, 4)
மெய் தொழுவார் சுடர் வாணரே
those who worship sincerely are people with brilliance of the body.

மாலொடும் மறை ஓதிய நான் முகன் காலொடும் முடி காண்பு அரிது ஆயினான்
Civaṉ whose feet and head were difficult to the found by Māl, and Piramaṉ of four faces who chanted the vetams.
சேல் (ஒடும்) செருச் செய்யும் நெய்த்தானனை மாலொடும் தொழுவார் வினை வாடுமே
the Karmams of those who worship with desire Civaṉ in neyttānam where the carnatic carp fish fight among themselves, will become weak and disappear.

வலிந்த தோள் வலி வாள் அரக்கன் தனை நெருங்க நீள் வரை ஊன்று நெய்த்தானனார்
Civaṉ in neyttāṉam who pressed under the long mountain the cruel arakkaṉ who harassed people by the strength of his shoulders.
புரிந்து கைந்நரம்போடு இசை பாடலும் பரிந்தனைப் பணிவார் வினை பாறுமே
the Karmams of those who make obeisance to Civaṉ who showed compassion on him when he sang music with love using the (guts in) his hand as the strings in a lute.
