Civaṉ in vaṉṉiyūr which is surrounded by a big fortified wall inside which there are storeyed buildings from which fragrance spreads.
வாடமான் நிறம் கொள்வர்
takes away the golden colour of the young girl whose looks are like the deer, giving in return sallowness, to make her turn pale.

தீத்திரள் அங்கை ஏந்திநின்று ஆர்எரிஆடுவர்
will dance in the unbearable hot fire holding a ball of fire in the palm.
கங்கை வார்சடைமேல் இடம் கொண்டவர்
placed on his long caṭai Kaṅkai as its place (As the god of fire worshipped Civaṉ here the place got the name of vaṉṉiyūr; vaṉṉi-fire.)
வன்னியூரர் மங்கை பாகம் வைத்தார்

Civaṉ in vaṉṉiyūr.
ஞானம் காட்டுவர்
will show the way to spiritual wisdom
நன்னெறி காட்டுவர்
will show the way to obtain it.
தம் அடைந்தார்க்கு எலாம் தானம் காட்டுவர்
will show the place to obtain it, for those who approached him.
தானம் காட்டித்தாள் அடைந்தார்கட்கு வானம் காட்டுவர்
will show heaven and the rule over it, for those who approached his feet by showing the place (போல் expletive)

{$} இம்மை அம்மை என இரண்டும் இவை (1) மெய்ம்மை தான் அறியாது விளம்புவர்
some people will talk not knowing the true nature of the two ie; this birth and the next birth; (do not join their company)
(1) மெய்ம்மையால் நினைவார்கள் தம் வல்வினை தீர்ப்பர்வன்னியூரர்
Civaṉ in vaṉṉiyūr will put on end to the irresistible Karmams of those who sincerely meditate on him.
வம்மின்

{$} பிறைகொள்வாள் நுதல் பெய்வளைத்தோளியர் நிறையைக்கொள்பவர் நீறு அணிமேனியர்
Civaṉ on whose form he smears holy ash takes away the moral firmness of ladies who wear armlets on the shoulders and who have a bright forehead like the crescent.
கறைகொள் கண்டத்தர்
has a neck in which there is poison. வெண்மழுவாளினர்
has a white weapon of a battle-axe.
மறைகொள் வாய்மொழியார்வன்னியூரர்
Civaṉ in vaṉṉiyūr has revealed vētams which contain many mantirams.

{$} திளைக்கும் வண்டொடு தேன்படு கொன்றையர்
Civaṉ adorns himself with koṉṟai flowers on which different kinds of bees such as vaṇṭu and tēṉ are always drinking honey.
துளைக்கை வேழத்தர் தோலர்
covers himself with the skin of an elephant having a trunk with holes (nostrils)
சுடர்மதி முளைக்கும் மூரற்கதிர்கண்டு
seeing the rays of the brilliant crescent which is like smile.
நாகம் நாவளைக்கும் வார் சடையார் வன்னியூரர்
Civaṉ has a long catai where the cobra bends its tongue to swallow it.

{$} (1) எட்டுகுணம் தோள்கொள் மூர்த்தியை
Civaṉ of eight shoulders and eight attributes.
இணை அடி இணங்குவார்கட்கு இனியனுமாய் நின்றான்
it sweet to those who approach his two feet.
வணங்கி மாமலர் கொண்டவர் வைகலும் வணங்குவார் மனத்தார் வன்னியூரர்
the Lord in vaṉṉiyūr dwells in the minds of those who, with humility, worship him with big flowers.

{$} இயலும் மாலொடு நான்முகன் செய்தவம் முயலின் காண்பு அரிதாய் நின்ற மூர்த்தி தான்
Civaṉ who has a form which could not be seen by the efforts of doing penance by Māl and nāṉmukaṉ (Piramaṉ) who thought they were the supreme gods, and quarrelled between themselves.
அயல் எலாம் அன்னம் ஏயும் அம் தாமரைவயல் எலாம் கயல்பாய் வன்னியூரர்
is the god in vaṉṉiyūr where the fish carp leaps in all the fields where lotus flowers on which swans are sitting in all nearby places.
