தளரும் கோள் அரவத்தொடு தண் மதி வளரும் கோல வளர் சடையார்க்கு இடம்
the shrine of Civaṉ who has a growing and beautiful caṭai on which the cool crescent and a cobra which bends its body and swallows it prey
கிளரும் பேரிசைக் கின்னரம் பாட்டு அறாக்களரும் கார்க் கடம்பூர்க் கரக்கோயில்
is the Karakkōyil in the village which has Kaṭampu trees which blossoms in winter and which is black in colour and where the musical instrument, Kiṉṉoram, producing music at a high pitch, never ceases.

புலன் ஐந்தொடு வெலவலான்
Civaṉ is able to conquer the knowledge of the five senses and other enemies
வேதமும் சொலவலான்
he is able to chant also the vētam
சுழலும் தடுமாற்றமும் அலவலான்
He is naturally free from confustion due to ignorance and unsteadiness
மனை ஆர்ந்த மென் தோளியைக் கலவலான் கடம் பூர்க்கரக் கோயிலே
Karakkōyil in Kaṭampūr is the shrine of Civaṉ who is united with a lady of soft shoulders who stays in his house.

without becoming slaves to things unreal (getting rid of attachments to things of the world)
புலி உரியோன் பணி செய்து எழுவார் பணி செய்து எழா
rising from sleep doing services to devotees who rise from sleep doing service to the god who wears a tiger's skin
(1) வைது எழாது, எழுவார் அவர் எள்க
to make those who rise from sleep and indulge in abuse about Civaṉ, feel ashamed
நீர் கரக்கோயில் கை தெழா எழுமின்
you rise in esteem by worshipping with your hands the Karakkōyil

பண்ணினால் முனம் பாடல் அது செய்தே
singing songs with melodies in his presence
எண் இலார் எயில் மூன்றும் எரித்த முக்கண்ணினான் கடம் பூர்க் கரக்கோயில் துண் எனா மனத்தால் தொழு
you worship the Karakkōyil in Kaṭampūr belonging to the god of three eyes, who burnt all the three forts of the acurar who had no good thoughts

சுனையுள் நீலமலர் அன கண்டத்தன்
Civaṉ whose neck is like the blue nelumbo flowers blossoming in the tank
புனையும் பொன் நிறக் கொன்றை புரிசடைக்கனையும் பைங்கழலான் கரக் கோயிலை நினையும் உள்ளத்தவர் வினை நீங்குமே
the Karmams of those who think about the Karakkōyil in Kaṭampūr of the god who has a jingling anklet and a catai which desires koṉṟai flowers of golden colour which adorn it, will leave them.

dilating upon the good qualities of the true devotees and explaining them to others
குற்றங்கள் பேசியும்
and talking about their own faults
அன்புடையார் எலாம் வணங்கி வாழ்த்துவர்
all those who have love towards god will bow before him and sing his praises

வால் மலர் கொண்டு
with defectless flowers
அடி வைகலும் கணங்கள் போற்று இசைக்கும், கரக்கோயில்
in Karakkōyil the pūtakaṇaṅkaḷ will sing the praise of the feet, daily

in addition to different kinds of pūcaṉai such as is done according to vedic rules, caivaite injuctions and devotion, chanting vētam with melody done by the people of this world

அங்கை ஆர் அழல் ஏந்தி நின்று ஆடலன் மங்கை பாட மகிழ்ந்து உடன்
when the young lady is by his side, and sings, Civaṉ dances holding a fire of unbearable heat in his palm
வார்சடைக் கங்கையான் உறையும் கரக்கோயிலைத், தம்கையால் தொழுவார் வினை சாயும்
the Karmams of those who worship with their hands Karakkoyil where Civaṉ who has on his long caṭai Kaṅkai, resides, will get decreased gardually, losing their vehemence.

நம் கடம்பனைப் பெற்றவள் பங்கினன்
Civaṉ who has as a half Umai who gave birth to our Kaṭampaṉ (கடம்பன் Murukaṉ got this name as he is partial towards the flowers of common Kaṭampa)
தென் கடம்பைத் திருக்கரக் கோயிலான்
who dwells in the holy temple of Karakkōyil in beautiful Katampai (Kaṭampūr)
தன் கடன் அடியேனையும் தாங்குதல்
It is his duty to protect even me who is low and who is his devotee
என் கடன் பணி செய்து கிடப்பதே
my duty is to follow the path shown by his grace without ever thinking with egotism even in a small measure in a small measure It is my action

பாற்கடற் பணம் கொள் பாம்பு அணையானொடும் மணம் கமழ் மலர்த் தாமரை யானவன் பிணங்கும் பேரழல் எம் பெருமாற்கு இடம்
the shrine of our Lord who assumed the form of a big fire which was the cause for disagreement between Māl who slept on a bed of a serpent having a hood in the ocean of milk, and Piramaṉ who was seated in fragrant lotus flower, as to their respective superiority
கணங்கள் போற்று இசைக்கும் கரக்கோயில்
is Karakkōyil where the pūtakaṇam sing the praise of Civaṉ

நால் அஞ்சு தோள் உடையான் தலைவரைக்கண் அரைக்க ஊன்றி அருள் செய்த ஈசனார்
Civaṉ who pressed down to grind under the mountain the heads of Irāvaṇaṉ of twenty shoulders, and bestowed his grace on him afterwards.
திரைக்கும் தண்புனல் சூழ் கரக்கோயிலை உரைக்கும் உள்ளத்தவர் வினை ஓயுமே
The Karmams of those who have the mind to praise the Karakkōyil surrounded by cool water in which waves are rolling, will be destroyed
