Civaṉ who is like gold to me!
இமையோர் தொழு பைங்கழல் நன் பொனே
gold of highest degree of fineness whose feet are worshipped by tēvar who do not wink!
நலம் தீங்கு அறிவு ஒன்று இலேன்
I do not possess even a small amount of intelligence to discern between good and bad things.
செம் பொனே
Civaṉ who has the colour of superior gold.
திரு வீழிமிழலையுள் அன்பனே
Civaṉ who is tiruviḻimiḻai and who is the embodiment of love!

god in vīḻimiḻai whom the tēvar in heaven worship!
கண்ணினாற் களி கூர (கண்டு)
seeing you to make my eyes completely satisfied.

worshipping you with joined hands.
எண்ணுமாறு அறியாது இளைப் பேன் தனை அடியேனைக் குறிக் கொள்
guard with care me, your devotee who becomes fatigued without knowing to meditate upon you.

Civaṉ who is naturally free from the impurities of the soul and free from the cycle of birth and death!
முதல்வா
who is the origin of all things?
முகிழும் முளை ஒத்தனே
who is like the shoot that sprouts!
ஒருவா
the unequalled one!
உரு ஆகிய சித்தனே
who possesses the eight miraculous powers and who has a form.
திரு வீழிமிழலையுள் அத்தனே
the father in tiruvīḻimalalai?

Civaṉ who is the embryo of all things.
கருவாய்த் தெளிவார்க்கு எலாம் ஒருவனே
the sole thing for those who have clearly understood him as the embryo
உயிர்ப்பாய் உணர்வாய் நின்ற திருவனே
the wealth who is the breath and intelligence.
திருவீழிமிழலையுள் குருவனே
who has the form of the preceptor of tiruvīḻimiḻalai!

காதலால் பொழில் ஏழையும் காத்தனே
Civaṉ who protected the seven worlds out of love!
அமரர்க்கு ஆத்தனே
a trustworthy person for the immortals (one whose words are authoritive and reliable)
அயன் தலை சேர்த்தனே
who attached in his hand the skull of Ayaṉ (Piramaṉ)
திருவீழிமிழலையுள் கூத்தனே
the divine dancer in tiruvīḻimiḻalai!

வானவர் நீதி நித்தல் நியமம் செய்து ஓதியும்
though the celestials utter your names performing their daily routines according to good conduct.
வானவரும் உணராதது ஓர் வேதியா
the brahmin who could not be understood even by those celestials
(வானவர் is used in the sense of they, in the 2nd line).
விகிர்தா
Civaṉ who is different from the world!
திருவீழியுள் ஆதியே
the source of all things and who is in tiruvīḻi! (tiruvīḻi is a part of the name tiruvīḻimiḻalai)

பழகி நின் அடி சூடிய பாலனைக் கழலின் மேல் வைத்த காலனைச் சாடிய அழகனே
the beautiful god who killed Kāḻaṉ (the god of death) who treacherously wanted to snatch the life of the boy who wore your feet on his head by the practice of performing worship moving intimately with you.
அணி வீழி மிழலையுள் குழகனே
the youth in beautiful vīḻimiḻalai!

அண்டவானவர் கூடிக் கடைந்த நஞ்சு உண்ட வானவனே
the god who consumed the poison which rose when the celestials in heaven churned the ocean of milk
[[Though acurar also had their share in churning the ocean, it is said to be an act of the celestials as they are superior to accurar.]]
உணர்வு ஒன்று இலேன்
I do not possess even the slightest intelligence.
விண்டவான் பொழில் வீழிமிழலையுள் கொண்டனே
Civaṉ who had as his abode vīḻimiḻalai which has superior gardens of blossomed flowers.

ஒருத்தன் ஓங்கலைத்தாங்கலுற்றான் உரம் வருத்தினாய்
you made the strength of (the arakkaṉ) who bore up the mountain (Kayilai) being proud of his unique strength; to suffer!
1. வஞ்சனேன் மனம் மன்னிய திருத்தனே
the spotless god who statyed permanently in my mind which is deceitful
