{$} பண்ணின் நேர் மொழியாள் உமை பங்கரோ
O Lord who has Umai whose words are as sweet as music, on one half!
மண்ணினார் வலம்செய் மறைக்காடரோ
O Lord in maraikkāṭu around which people of this world go from left to right!
உமைக் கண்ணினால் காணக் கதவினைத் திண்ணமாகத் திறந்தருள் செய்ம்மின் (ஏ)
Kindly open the doors with certainty to have a vision of you with my eyes.
[[The Vētam-s worshipped Civaṉ in Maṟaikkāṭu and closed the doors in front of the temple turned towards him. People made a side entrance and went into the temple and worshipped God. When Campantar and Nāvukkaracar were there the devotees requested then to open the door closed by the Vētam-s. Nāvukkaracar sang verses to open the doors and Campantar sang to close them. After that people entered into the temple by the direct entrance and worshipped the Lord.]]

{$} ஆகத்துள் ஈண்டு செஞ்சடை ஈசரோ
O Civaṉ who has a red caṭai which is close together in the body!
மூண்ட கார்முகிலின, முறிக்கண்டரோ
O Lord who has a neck whose colour is like that of the sable cloud just rising and has the brightness of the fresh tender leaf!
ஆண்டு கொண்ட நீரே அருள் செய்திடும்
you yourself who admitted me as your protege bestow your grace on me.
நீண்ட மாக் கதவின் வலி நீக்கும்(ஏ)
remove the strength of thses long and big doors.

{$} அட்டமூர்த்தி (அது) ஆகிய அப்பரே
O Father who has the eight forms!
துட்டர் வான்புரம் சுட்ட சுவண்டரோ
O God who had the fitness to burn the famous cities of the acurar who were mischievous
பட்டம் கட்டிய சென்னிப் பரமரோ
O superior Lord who tied a plate on the head!
சட்ட இக்கதவம் திறப்பிம்மின் (ஏ)
order the doors to be opened speedily (properly)

O Lord who chanted the abstruse four Vētam-s!
பெரிய வான்புரம் சுட்ட சுவண்டரோ
O Lord who burnt with propriety the big cities which were flying in the sky!
விரிகொள் கோவண ஆடை விருத்தரோ
O old Lord who wears a broad men's loincloth!
பெரிய வான் (2)கதவம் பிரிவிக்க (ஏ)

{$} மலையின் நீடு இருக்கும் மறைக்காடரோ
O Lord in Maṟaikkāṭu which exists without destruction like the mountain, Kayilai! (மலையின்-மலையைப்போல Like the mountain, Kayilai)
கலைகள் வந்து இறைஞ்சும் கழல் ஏத்தரோ
O Lord whose feet are praised by those who are well-versed in arts and by their authors who come and pay homage!
விலையில் (2) மாமணி வண்ண உருவரோ
O Lord who has the form which has the colour of the invaluable big gem!
தொலைவு இலாக் கதவம் துணை நீக்கும் (ஏ)
open the doors which are united and not opened till now.

{$} பூக்கும் தாழை புறணி அருகுஎலாம் ஆக்கும் தண்பொழில் சூழ் மறைக்காடரோ
O Lord in Maṟaikkāṭu surrounded by gardens which create coolness and where in the neighbourhood of the forest tract the fragrant screw-pines blossom.
ஆர்க்கும் காண்பு அரியீர்
O Lord who is difficult to be seen by anyone however great the may be!

O Lord who is different from the world and who smears himself with well burnt white sacred ash!

அடியார் வந்து இறைஞ்சிட, நீ இந்த மாக் கதவம் (1) பிணி நீக்கும் (ஏ)
you remove the fastening of these great doors so that devotees can enter directly and pay homage to you.
[[நீ நீக்கும்: is a peculiar usage. I am of the opinion that the reading should be நீரடியார் in the plural;]]
[[PP: இந்த is a later usage; it occurs in Cilappatikāram:
அறத்துறை மாக்கட்கு அல்லது இந்தப் புறச்சிறை இருக்கை பொருந்தாதாகலின்
(15-107-108).]]

{$} ஆறு சூடும் அணி மறைக்காடரோ
O Lord in beautiful maṟaikkāṭu, who wears on the head the river, Kaṅkai!
உமை மாதுக்குக் கூறு ஈந்த குழகரோ
O youth who gave one half of your body to the lady, Umai!
ஏறு(அது) ஏறிய எம்பெருமான்
our Lord who rides on a bull!
இந்த மாறுஇலாக் கதவம் வலி நீக்கும் (ஏ)
remove the strength of these doors which have not changed from their being closed centuries ago
[[மாறுஇலாக் கதவம் can also mean doors which have no comparison.]]

{$} சுண்ண வெண்பொடிய பூசும் சுவண்டரோ
O Lord who has the propriety of smearing white sacred ash of fineness!
[[சுண்ண வெண்பொடி : fragrant powder and white sacred ash is another meaning.]]
பண்ணி ஏறு உகந்து ஏறும் பரமரோ
the supreme god who rides on a bull fitting it out for riding!

ஆதி அருமறைக்காடரோ
O Lord in maṟaikkāṭu worshipped by vetams and who is the first cause of all things!
திண்ணம் மாக்கதவம் திறப்பிம்மின் (ஏ)
have the doors opened which are closed tightly.

{$} விண்உளார் விரும்பி எதிர்கொள்ளவே, மண்உளார் வணங்கும் மறைக்காடரோ
O Lord in Maṟaikkāṭu to whom people of this world pay homage when the celestials in heaven advance towards them to welcome and receive them!
கண்ணினால் உமைக் காணக் கதவினைத் திண்ணமாகத் திறந்து அருள் செய்ம்மின் (ஏ)
condescend to open the doors certainly to have a vision of you with my eyes.
[[Note: this verse has been wrongly included in the previous decade in the Tēvāram edition of the Kasi mutt; in a previous edition by Kayappākkam cataciva ceṭṭiyār, this is found in this decade which is its rightful place. This fact is corroborated by two references in periya purāṇam by cekkiḻar when he narrates this incident. Those verses are:
பாடியஅப் பதிகப் பாட்டான பத்தும் பாடல் நிரம்பிய பின்னும் பைம்பொன்வாயிற்இ சேடுஉயர் பொன் திருக்காப்பு நீங்காச்செய்கை

உள் நீர்மையினால் பிள்ளையார் உரைசெய்தருள அதனாலே, பண்ணின் நேரும் மொழியாள்' என்று எடுத்துப் பாடப் பயன் துய்ப்பான், தெண்ணீர் அணிந்தார் திருக்காப்பு நீக்கத் தாழ்க்கத் திருக்கடைக்காப்பு, எண்ணீர் இரக்கம் ஒன்று இல்லீர்' என்று பாடி இறைஞ்சுதலும்'

O my Lord!
அரக்கனை விரலால் அடர்த்திட்ட நீர் இரக்கம் ஒன்று இலீர்
you who pressed down the arakkaṉ by your toe do not have enen the slightest pity on me.
சுரக்கும் புன்னைகள் சூழ் மறைக்காடரோ
O Lord in maṟaikkāṭu surrounded by mast-wood trees from which honey flows.
