riding with joy on a straying bull.
பல இ(ல்)லம் இட்டமாக இரந்து உண்டு உழிதரும் அட்டமூர்த்தி அண்ணாமலை கைதொழ
to worship with joined hands Aṇṇāmalai of Civaṉ who has eight forms, and wanders collecting alms with desire, in many houses and eats it.
கெட்டுப்போம்வினை
the acts, good and bad, will definitely be destroyed.
கேடு இல்லை; காண்மின்(ஏ)
there will be no indigence (People of the world!) you know this in your experience.

பெற்றம் ஏறுவர் பெய்பலிக்கு என்று அவர்; சுற்றம் ஆம் மிகு (1) தொல் புகழாளொடும்
Civaṉ will come riding on a bull along with Umai who has increasing ancient fame, and who is related to him as his wife to receive alms offered to him.
அற்றம் தீர்க்கும் அண்ணாமலை கைதொழ
to worship with joined hands aṇṇāmalai which removes the sufferings of devotees.
நற்றவத்தோடு ஞானத்து இருப்பர் (ஏ)
those devotees will be performing penance to be rid of the cycle of birth and death and be firm in their spiritual knowledge.

பல் இல் ஓடு கை ஏந்திப் பல இ(ல்)லம் ஒல்லை சென்று உணங்கல் கவர்வார் அவர் அல்லல் தீர்க்கும் அண்ணாமலை கைதொழ
to worship with joined hands aṇṇāmalai which removes the sufferings and which is the shrine of Civaṉ who eagerly begged cooked food going quickly to many houses holding in the hand a skull without teeth.
நல்ல ஆயின நம்மை அடையும் (ஏ)
all good things will reach us of their own accord.

Civaṉ who stood before houses to receive alms.
ஓடிப்போயினர்
ran away stealing our heart.

ஆடிப்பாடி அண்ணாமலைகைதொழ (1) ஓடிப்போகும் நம் மேலைவினைகளே
our accumulated acts done in previous births will flee from us if we worship with joined hands aṇṇāmalai dancing and singing.

தேடிச் சென்று திருந்து அடி ஏத்துமின்
praise the perfect feet of Civaṉ enquiring about Aṇṇāmalai, his dwelling place going there (People of this world!)
நாடிவந்து அவர் நம்மையும் ஆட்கொள்வர்
he will admit us who are not worthy of receiving his grace, coming to us and seeking us.
ஆடிப்பாடி அண்ணாமலை கைதொழ; ஓடிப்போம் நமது உள்ள வினைகள் (ஏ)
the acts that are still with us will flee away from us if we worship with joined hands aṇṇāmalai, dancing and singing.

கரும்பினிடைக் கட்டி ஒக்கும்
Civaṉ is as sweet as the lump of jaggery.
துணி வெட்டி வீணைகள்பாடும் விகிர்தனார்
who is different from the world and plays on the vīṇai ascertaining the sound and severing its strings.
அட்டமூர்த்தி அண்ணாமலை மேவிய நட்டம் ஆடியை நண்ண நன்கு ஆகுமே
It will be good if one approaches the dancer who dwells with desire in aṇṇāmalai and who has eight forms.

Civaṉ has a curved caṭai dressed in a large coil on the head.
வேடம் முன் கொண்டவர்
he took many forms long ago.
பாணி நட்டங்களை ஆடும் பரமனார்
the supreme god who performs dances to measure of time.
ஆணிப்பொன்னன் அண்ணாமலை கைதொழப் பேணி நின்ற பெருவினை போகுமே
the big acts which are with us with intense attachment will take leave of us, if we worship with joined hands aṇṇāmalai of the god who is like the gold of the finest quality;

காலன் ஆருயிர் பண்டு கால் கொடு பாய்ந்த பரனார்
the supreme being who pounced upon the previous life of Kālaṉ (god of death) and took it away kicking with his leg, long ago.
அண்டத்து ஓங்கும் அண்ணாமலை கைதொழ விண்டுபோம் (1) நம்மேலைவினைகளே
our act done in previous births will go away separated from us; if we worship with joined hands aṇṇāmalai which rises high to touch the heaven.

going early in life.
அந்தி வாய் ஒளியான் தன் அண்ணாமலை முப்போதும் வணங்குமின்
pay homage thrice in a day to Aṇṇāmalai of the god who has the colour of the evening red sky. (People of this world!)
கந்த மாமலர் சூடும் கருத்தன் சிந்தியா எழுவார்வினை தீர்த்திடும்
the chief who wears big fragrant flowers will destroy the acts of those who get up from sleep thinking of the hill.

மறையினானொடு மாலவன்காண்கிலா நிறையும் நீர்மையுள் நின்று அருள் செய்தவன் உறையும் மாண்பின் அண்ணாமலை கைதொழ
if we worship with joined hands aṇṇāmalai which has the greatness as the dwelling place of Civaṉ who granted his grace by his nature of pervading everywhere and who could not be seen by Piramaṉ well-versed in vētams, and by Māl.
நாம் செய்த பாவங்கள் ஆனவே பறையும்
sinful acts only committed by us will disappear.
