whom we worship is
கடவுளை
the god who transcends thought, speech and actions.
கடவுளை எழு நஞ்சு உண்ட உடல் உளானை
who has a body that did not perish even after consuming the poison that rose in the ocean.
ஒப்பாரி இலாத எம் அடல் உளானை
who is our strength and who has no equal;

கரும்பு ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is sweet like the sugarcane.
கரும்பினில் கட்டியை
who is the sugar-cane jaggery
விரும்பு ஒப்பானை
who is like the thing we desire much.
விண்ணோரும் அறிகிலா அரும்பு ஒப்பானை
who is like the bud which even the celestials are incapable of understanding.
அரத்துறை மேவிய சுரும்பு ஒப்பானைக் (கண்டீர்)
is the god who is like the bee who dwells with desire in Arattuṟai.

whom we worship is
ஏறு ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is like the bull.
எல்லா உயிர்க்கும்(ம்) இறைவேறு ஒப்பானை
who is the distinctive Lord for living being.
விண்ணோரும் அறிகிலா ஆறுஒப்பானை
who is like the path which even the celestials are incapable of knowing.

அரத்துறை மேவிய ஊறு ஒப்பானை (க்கண்டீர்)
is the thing that we get and that dwells with desire in Arattuṟai.

whom we worship is
பரப்பு ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is the area of the sun
இருள் நன்னிலா இரப்பு ஒப்பானை
who is increasing like the moon in the night, waxing day by day, by borrowing light.
இளமதி சூடிய அரப்பு ஒப்பானை
who does all acts as play and who wears a crescent

அரத்துறை மேவிய சுரப்பு ஒப்பானை (க்கண்டீர்)
and who dwells with desire in Arattuṟai and who is like the secretion of milk.

நெய்ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is like the ghee hidden in the milk.
நெய்யில் சுடர்போல்வது ஓர்மெய் ஒப்பானை
who is like the form of fire in the lamp lit with pouring ghee
விண்ணோரும் அறிகிலார்
even the celestial are not capable of knowing his true nature.

even the celestials are incapable of knowing him.
அதிஒப்பானை
who transcends the knowledge of the living beings.
அரத்துறைமேவிய கதி ஒப்பானை (க்கண்டீர்)
who is like the states of existence and who dwells in Arattuṟai

whom we worship is
புனல் ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is indispensable like water
பொருந்தலர் தம்மையே மினல் ஒப்பானை
who is like lightning to enemies, by striking them dead
விண்ணோரும் அறிகிலார்
even the celestials are incapable of knowing him.
அனல் ஒப்பானை
who has the colour like the fire
அரத்துறை மேவியகனல் ஒப்பானை (க்கண்டீர்)
and who is like the smouldering fire.

whom we worship is
பொன் ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is as valuable as gold.
பொன்னின் சுடர் போல்வது ஓர்மின் ஒப்பானை
who is like the lightning which is like the brilliance in gold.
விண்ணோரும் அறிகிலார்
even the celestials are incapable of knowing him.
அன் ஒப்பானை
who is as affectionate as the mother.

காழியானை
Civaṉ who is in Kāḻi
கனவிடை ஊரும் மெய் வாழியானை
who has an undying form and rides on a dignified bull.
ஆழியான் பிரமற்கும் வல்லோரும் என்று இன்னவர்
who is himself the master of Māl who has a disc and Piramaṉ and those gods who are spoken of as capable persons by others.
அரத்துறை ஊழியானை (க்கண்டீர்)
who is himself many aeons and who is in Arattuṟai.

கலை ஒப்பானை
Civaṉ who is like the arts
கற்றார்க்கு ஓர் அமுதினை
who is like the nectar to the learned scholars.
மலை ஒப்பானை
who is like the mountain that could not be shaken.
மணிமுடிஊன்றிய அலை ஒப்பானை
who is the distress to Aravaṇaṉ by firmly fixing his toe on the crown set with precious stones.
அரத்துறைமேவிய நிலை ஒப்பானை (க்கண்டீர்)
and who is permanent in Arattuṟai.
