{$} பனைக்கை மும்முத வேழம் உரித்தவன்
one who flayed the skin of the elephant having three musts, and a trunk resembling the palmyra tree.
நினைப்பவர் மனம் கோயிலாகக் கொண்டவன்
one who entered into the minds of those who meditate upon him, as a temple.
அனைத்தும் வேடமாம் அம்பலக்கூத்தனை
the dancing god in ampalam who has all things as his form.
தினைத்தனைப் பொழுதும் மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I be saved if I forget him even for a single moment?

the pure one.
சிவனை
one who has the name of Civaṉ.
சிவலோகனை
one whose abode is Civalōkam
மூர்த்தியை
one who has several forms
முதலாய ஒருவனை
the unequalled one who is the source for all things.
பார்த்தனுக்கு அருள்செய்த சிற்றம்பலக் கூத்தனை
the dancing god of Ciṟṟampalam who granted his grace to Pārttaṉ

கொடியேன் மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I, who am cruel, be saved if I forget him?

{$} கட்டும் பாம்பும் கபாலம் கை மான்மறி இட்டமாய்
Being desirous of the serpent which is tied, skull and a young one of a deer held in his hand.
இடுகாட்டு எரி ஆடுவான்
one who dances in the burial ground holding fire.
சிட்டர் வாழ்தில்லைச் சிற்றம்பலக் கூத்தினை
the dancing god of Ciṟṟampalam in tillai where people of good conduct live.
எள்தனைப் பொழுதும் மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I be saved if I forget him even for a moment?
[[தினை in l; and எள் in this stanza are similar used for smallness; தினைத்துணை நன்றிசெயினும், எட்பகவன்ன சிறுமைத்தே (Kuṟaḷ 104, 889)]]
{5:2}__4+
{$} மாணி பால் கறந்து ஆட்டி வழிபட
as the bachelor (caṇṭecaṉ) milked the cows and bathed you with milk and worshipped you
நீண் உலகு எலாம் ஆளக்கொடுத்தவ என் ஆணியை
my god who is the basis of all things, who granted him all the worlds which are at a great distance, to be ruled by him.
[[This refers to the story of caṇteca nāyaṉār of Cēyñallur; In tēvāram all the three refer to him in many places; ஆணி can be interpreted as the pin of gold for testing the fineness of other gold. நீண் is a போலி of நீள்; நீணுதல் செய்தொழிய (tēvāram P. 82-9, Kāci mutt edition 1968)]]
செம்பொன் அம்பலத்துள் நின்ற தாணுவை தமியேன் மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I be saved if I, who am lonely, forget the pillar who was standing in the campalam which was covered with red gold? (There are five ampalams or sabhas in citamparam. The one alluded to here as செம்பொன் அம்பலம் perhaps refers to the hall in front of Natarājan who is dancing in ciṟṟambalam)

{$} பித்தனை
one who has the name of pittaṉ; (or) one who has a mania for his devotees (in the first sense all his actions are entirely different from those of the world).
பெருங்காடு அரங்கா உடை முத்தனை
one who is naturally free from all shakles and bordage, and dances in the burning ground using it as a stage.
முளைவெண்மதிசூடியை
one who adorned on his head the white crescent which is like a white sprout.
சித்தனை
one who possessess all the eight powers attained by performing penance.
செம்பொன் அம்பலத்துள் நின்ற அத்தனை
the father who is standing in the ampalam covered with gold.
அடியேன் மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I, his serf, be saved if I forget him?

{$} நீதியை
the right conduct.
நிறைவை
the fullness
மறைநான்கு உடன் ஓதியை
one who changed the four maṟai simultaneously
ஒருவர்க்கும் அறிவு ஒணாச்சோதியை
the effulgent light which could not be known by anyone (by his own effort).
சுடர்ச் செம்பொனின் அம்பலத்து ஆதியை மறந்து
having forgotton the primordial one who is in the brilliant golden ampalam.
அடியேன் உய்வனோ
will I, who am his serf, be saved.
{5:2}__7+
{$} மைகொள் கண்டன்
one who has the black neck.
எண் தோளன்
has eight shoulders.
முக்கண்ணினன்
He has three eyes.
பைகொள்பாம்பு அரை ஆர்த்த பரமனார்
the supreme one who has tied in his waist a serpant having a hood.
செய்ய மாது உறை சிற்றம் பலத்து எங்கள் ஐயனை
our father who is in Ciṟṟampalam where the lady of red colour (goddess of wealth) resides.
அடியேன் மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I be saved if I, who am his servant, forget him. (Notes ஐயன்: venerable one)

{$} வான் உலகத்து உள தேவர்கள்
the gods that are in heaven.
தொழுதும் போற்றியும்
having worshipped and praised
தூயசெம்பொனின் எழுதி மேய்ந்த சிற்றம்பலக் கூத்தினை
the dancer of the ciṟṟampalam whose roof was covered completely by being indented by pressure, with the fine red gold.
இழுதையேன் மறந்து எங்ஙனம் உய்வனோ
How can I, who am an ignoramus, be saved?

{$} கார் உலாம் மலர்க் கொன்றை அம் தாரனை
one who wears on his chest a garland of koṉṟai flowers which blossom and move about in winter.
வார் உலாம் முலை மங்கை
the husband of young maid who has breasts on which the bodice moves about.
தேர் உலாவிய தில்லையுள் கூத்தனை
the dancer in tillai where care are dragged.
ஆர்கிலா அமுதை மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I be saved by forgetting the insatiable nectar of god?

{$} ஓங்கு மால்வரை ஏந்தல் உற்றான் சிரம் வீங்குவிம்முற ஊன்றிய தாளினான்
one who fixed his feet to make the heads of that one who held up the high and big mountain to be swollen and be in distress.
தேங்குநீர் வயல்சூழ் தில்லைக் கூத்தனைப் பாங்கிலாத் தொண்டனேன் மறந்து உய்வனோ
will I, his devotee, be saved if I forget the dancer in tillai which is surrounded by fields which are full of water.
