மாற்பேறு உடையான் மலர் அடியே
the feet of Civaṉ in Māṟpēṟu, which resembles the lotus flower.
மாணிக்கு உயிர்பெறக் கூற்றை உதைத்தன
kicked the god of death, the life span of sixteen years to be permanent, on behalf of the bachelor, Mārkkaṇṭēyaṉ.
மாவலிபால் காணிக்கு இரந்தவன் காண்டற்கு அரியன
were difficult to be seen by Māl who begged from Māvali three feet of land which was his as of right.
கண்ட தொண்டர் பேணிக் கிடந்து பரவப்படுவன
are praised in the second person with love by devotees who realised him within themselves, lying prostrate.
பேர்த்தும் அஃதே
even in the state of non-duality which sometimes undergoes slight change, it is the bliss of salvation.
மாணிக்கம் ஆவன
are like rubies;

கருடத் தனிப் பாகன் காண்டற்கு அரியன
were difficult to be seen by the unequalled driver of Karuṭaṉ

காதல் செய்யில் குருடர்க்கு முன்னே குடி கொண்டிருப்பன
are deep-seated before the people who have lost the outward eyes and inward eyes, if they cherish him with love.

கோலம் மல்கு செருடக் கடிமலர்ச் செல்விதன் செங்கமலக்கரத்தும் வருடச் சிவப்பன
become red when Umai, who is as soft as the bright flower of ceruṭam which has increasing beauty, gently rubs them with her hands which are like red-lotus flowers.
