Civaṉ who has as one half the beautiful daughter of the great mountain!
கங்கைவார் சடையாய்
-one who arrested the speed of the Kaṅkai in your long caṭai!
கடி கமழ் சோலை சுலவு கடல் நாகைக் காரோணனே
Civaṉ in Nākaikkārōṇam on the sea-shore, surrounded by gardens that spread fragrance!
1. பிடி மதவாரணம் பேணும் துரகம் நிற்க
when the female elephant, male elephant having must, attractive horse remain to be used as your vehicles.
பெரிய இடி குரல் வெள் எருது ஏறும் இது என்னை கொல்? எம் இறையே
our master! what is the reason for riding on a big white bull which bellows like thunder?

our Civaṉ who has a frontal eye and who dwells in nākaikkārōṇam on the sea-shore, where scholars are crowded!
வில்தாங்கியகரம் வேல் நெடுங்கண்ணிவியன்கரமே
the hand that held the bow is the big hand of Umai who has long eyes comaparable to vēl.
நல்தாள் நெடுஞ்சிலை நாண் வலித்தகரம் நின்கரமே
it was your hand that drew the string of the long bow which had strong ends.
செற்றார்புரம் செற்ற சேவகம் என்னை கொல்
to which hand does the valour of destroying the cities of the enemies belong?

தூமென் மலர்க்கணை கோத்து
fixing the pure and soft flowers as arrows in the bow of the sugar-cane.
1. தீவேள்வித்தொழிற் படுத்த
putting into use the fire
காமன் பொடிபடக்காய்ந்த கடல் நாகைக் காரோண
the Lord in nākaikkārōṇam who destroyed with the frontal eye kāmaṉ to become ash!
நின் நாமம் பரவி
praising your names.
நமச்சிவாய என்னும் அஞ்சு எழுத்தும் சாம் அன்று உரைக்கத் தருதி கண்டாய்
grant your grace to utter the five letters of namaccivāya on the day when I die.

பழிவழி ஓடிய பாவிப் பறிதலைக் குண்டர் தங்கள் மொழி வழி ஓடி முடிவேன் முடியாமைக் காத்துக் கொண்டாய்
you protected from being damned, me who was about to be damned as I followed the words of the cruel and low people (camaṇar) who pluck the hairs on their head, following reproachful ways.
கழிவழி ஓதம் உலவு கடல் நாகைக் காரோண
Civaṉ in Nākaikkārōṇam on the shore of the sea where the floods of the back-water move about
வழி வழி ஆள் ஆகும் வண்ணம் என்
what is the procedure to become your hereditary slave?
எங்கள் வானவனே அருள்
our Lord! grant me that

செந்துவர் வாய்க் கருங்கண் இணை வெண்ணகைத் தேன் மொழியார்
ladies who speak words as sweet as honey, have white teeth, two black eyes, and lips like the red coral.
வந்து வலம் செய்து மாநடம் ஆட மலிந்த செல்வக் கந்தம் மலி பொழில் சூழ் கடல் நாகைக்காரோணம் என்றும் சிந்தை செய்வாரை
those who meditate on nākaikkārōṇam on the shore of the sea, and which is surrounded by gardens of increasing fragrance, and flourishing wealth, when they come to the temple and going from left to right perform the great dance.
பிரியாதிருக்கும் திருமங்கையே
the goddess of eternal bliss will be with them without leaving them.
[[திருமங்கை : here it does not mean ordinary worldly wealth; it refers to eternal bliss;
[[PP: நிணம் புணர் வெண்தலைக் கலன் கொல் நேரிழைமுத்தித் திருவை, மணம் புணர்வார்க்கு ஐயன் அருள் மணவாளக் கோலமே
(Kācikkalampakam, 1-5 ).]]
[[காரோணம் this is a corruption of the word, காயாரோகணம் the meaning is Civaṉ absorbed into himself Māl and Piramaṉ at the time of the universal dissolution]]

பனைபுரை கைம்மதயானை உரித்த பரஞ்சுடரே
supreme being, the light devine, which flayed an elephant having must and a trunk resembling the palmyra tree!
கனைகடல் சூழ்தரு நாகைக் காரோணத்து எம் கண்ணுதலே
our Civaṉ who has a frontal eye, who is in nākaikkārōṇam surrounded by roaring sea!
மனைதுறந்து அல் உணா வல் அமண் குண்டர் 1. மயக்கம் நீக்கி
removing the confusing words of the low and strong amaṇar who do not eat at night, having renounced their wives.
எனை நினைந்து ஆட்கொண்டாய்க்கு
to you who admitted me as your slave remembering me specially.
யான் செயும் இச்சைகளே என் இனி
what are the returns that I can do out of my will?

சீர் மலி செல்வம் பெரிது உடைய செம்பொன் மாமலையே
Civaṉ who is like a mountain of pure gold which has abundant wealth which is the cause of prosperity!
கார்மலி சோலை சுலவு கடல் நாகைக் காரோணனே
Lord in nākaikkārōṇam on the sea-shore surrounded by gardens on which many clouds rest.
வார்மலிமென் முலையார் பலிவந்து இடச் சென்று இரந்து ஊர் மலி பிச்சை கொண்டு உண்பது மாதிமையோ
is it propriety for you to eat receiving alms which you get in villages going there begging it when ladies who wear bodices on their breasts come out of their houses and place it into the begging bowl:

there is one respectful representation to you; please condescend to listen to that.
கங்கை சடையுள் கரந்தாய்
you concealed kaṅkai in your caṭai.
அக்கள்ளத்தை மெள்ள உமை நங்கை அறியின் பொல்லாது கண்டாய்
if Umai, the lady of distinction comes to know of the deception, evil will come out of it.

கருந்தடங்கண்ணியும் தானும் கடல் நாகைக்காரோணத் தான் இருந்த திருமலை என்று இறைஞ்சாது
without paying respect to the mountain on which the Lord in nākaikkārōṇam on the sea-shore, was seated along with the lady who had black and long eyes. (கருந்தடங்கண்ணி in sanskrit this word is known as nīlāyatākṣī)
அன்று எடுக்கலுற்றான் பெருந்தலை பத்தும் இருபது தோளும் பிதிர்ந்து அலற இருந்தருளிச் செய்ததே; மற்றுச் செய்திலன் எம் இறையே
our master simply sat to make the big heads and twenty shoulders of the arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain, to be reduced to powder; did not do anything else.
