வினைகாட்டிக்குற்றநோய் குறுவித்தவா
what a wonder Civaṉ pulled up showing my Karmams, and the sufferings which are the result of my mistake!
உறுவித்தவா குற்றநோய்
what a wonder he made to increase the sufferings which are the result of my mistake!
உற்ற நோய் வினை தீர்ப்பான் உகந்தருளி அறிவித்தவாறு அடியேனை
what a wonder he caused me to know, by his pleasure, the ways to remove the sufferings, and the causes of those sufferings.
ஐயாறன் அடிமைக்களே தொண்டனேனை, பொன்னடிக்கீழ்ச்செறுவித்தவா
what a wonderful thing that the Lord in Aiyāṟu united me who am his protege in the pleasure of enjoying happiness under his beautiful feet.

குற்றநோய்வினை காட்டியும் கூர்வித்தநோய் ஊர்வித்தவா
what a wonder he made the increasing suffering to unloose, showing me the faults, sufferings and the cause for those!
உற்றநோய் வினைதீர்ப்பான் உகந்திருளி
Being pleased to remove the sufferings and the karmams that came to me without my wishing for them.
ஆர்வித்தவாறு அடியேனை ஐயாறன் அடிமைக்களே
what a wonder the Lord in aiyaṟu was the cause for me to enjoy in full the pleasure of being his protege!
தொண்டனேனைச் சேர்வித்தவா
what a wonder he made me join the company of his devotees!

அடிமைக்களே (3) தன் பொன்னடிக்கீழ் எனைத்தாக்கியவா
How Civaṉ made me to come into contact with his beautiful feet to derive the pleasure of being his protege.
1. சலமே வினை காட்டியும் தண்டித்தநோய் நீக்கினவா
- what a wonder that he showed me his cherished anger and my evil karnams and removed the sufferings which were meted out to me as punishment!
நெடுநீரில் நின்று ஏற நினைந்தருளி அடியேனை ஆக்கினவா
what a wonder that he saved me from all the sufferings the jains inflicted on me and thinking about me in his mind, made me reach the shore from the deep ocean, to consider my life as a re-birth!
ஐயாறன் தொண்டனேனை நோக்கினவா
what a wonder the Lord in aiyāṟu cast on me his benign looks!

அடிமைக்களே தன் பொன்னடிக்கீழ் என்னைப் பெருக்கினவா
what a wonder Civaṉ, by the pleasure of myself being his protege, caused the happiness to increase by staying at his beautiful feet!
தருக்கின நான் தகவு இன்றியும் ஓடச்சலமதனால் நெருக்கினவா
How Civaṉ exerted pressure on me who was proud and ran away from him and was without any worthiness, with cherished anger!
ருடுநீரில் நின்று ஏற நீனைந்தருளி அடியேனை ஐயாறன் உருக்கினவாறு
How aiyāṟan melted my heart bestowing his grace by thinking that I should reach the shore from the deep sea!
தொண்டனேனைப் பெருக்கினவா
How he made me his protege, to feel insatiate in the supreme bliss!

by the pleasures of being Civaṉ's protégé
தன் பொன்னடிக்கீழ் எனைத் தொழுவித்தவா
how he made me worship with joined hands his beautiful feet!
இட்டநோய் வினைகாட்டி இழிவித்தவாறு
what a wonder he censured me showing me the sufferings and their causes ordained by fate!
இடர்படுத்துக் கழிவித்தவாறு
How he remitted them by making me undergo difficulties!
கட்ட நோய் வினைதீர்ப்பான் அடியேனைக் கலந்தருளி அழிவித்தவாறு
How he removed the disease that he gave me, difficulties, sufferings and their cause by being united within me, his protege, and destroyed them!

தன் பொன்னடிக்கீழ் இட்டநோய் வினைகாட்டி இடைவித்தவாறு
showing me the disease and its cause, how Civaṉ made me feel damped in spirits, under his beautiful feet.

How he put the difficulties to disorderly flight, after be setting them in my way.
உற்றநோய் வினைதீர்ப்பான் உகந்தருளி அடியேனை அடைவித்தவாறு
How he made me, his protege, to reach him, being pleased to remove the disease that I suffered from, and its cause
ஐயாறன் அடிமைக்களே தொண்டனேனைத் தொடர்வித்தவா
How the pleasure of being the protege of aiyāṟaṉ made me his devotee, to be associated with him!

How, quickly Civaṉ made me who took shelter under the beautiful feet forget the disease
வினை காட்டி மறப்பித்தநோய் துறப்பித்தவா
How he indicated the karnam and completely made the disease leave me for ever, and caused me to forget it!
துக்க நோய்வினை தீர்ப்பான் உகந்தருளி இறப்பித்தவாறு அடியேனை ஐயாறன்
How the Lord in aiyaṟu was pleased to remove the disease which gave me sufferings, and its cause, made me to overcome the difficulties!
அடிமைக்களே தொண்டனேனைச் சிறப்பித்தவா
How he made me his devotee prominent by the pleasure of being his protege!

How Civaṉ made me who was sheltering under his felt, feel exhausted by the disease which was the cause of suffering.

having concealed kaṅkai in the caṭai
இலங்கைக்கு இறைவன் தன்னை இருபதுதோள் இறுத்துமிட்டார்
the crushed the twenty shoulders of the king of ilaṅkai
ஐயாறன் அடிமைக்களே அடியேனை அறுத்துமிட்டார்
the Lord in aiyāṟu confirmed me his serf, completely to enjoy the pleasures of being his protege.
தன் பொன்னடிக்கீழ் எனைத் தொண்டனேனைப் பொறுத்துமிட்டார்
He sustained me, his devotee, in his beautiful feet.
