King of Paḻaṉam!
வெந்துயர் மேவித்து நின்று விளைந்தன
the acute sufferings gave me mental pain and produced their effect.
துக்கம் எல்லாம் ஆவித்து நின்று கழிந்தன
all the sufferings departed from me heaving a sigh, as they could not harm me.
அல்லல் அவை அறுப்பான் பாவித்த பாவனை நீ அறிவாய்
you know the meditation that I had to do to cut all the sufferings.
கூவித்துக் கொள்ளும்தனை அடியேனைக் குறிக் கொள்வதே
Let you take particular care about your devotee to that extent of calling me to carry out your commands

அமரர் புறம் சுற்றிக் காவல் நின்றார்
the immortals stood guard surrounding you
கடைத்தலையிலமற்றும் நின்றார்
there were others standing at the entrance.
திருமாலொடு நான்முகன் (உம்) வந்து அடிக்கீழ்ப்பற்றிநின்றார்
Tirumāl and Piramaṉ of four faces were at your feet holding them as their support.
உன் பணி அறிவான் உற்று நின்றார்
they were desirous of knowing your commands
அடியேனைக் குறிக்கொண்டருளுவதே
Let you take particular care about me, your protégé

அண்டம் ஏமும்கடந்து போய் மேல் அவையும் ஆடி நின்றாய்
you stood dancing going beyond the seven world and even above them
குவிமென்முலையாளையும் கூடிநின்றாய்
you were united with a lady of soft breasts of conical shape
கொண்டு உடனே பாடிநின்றாய்
you were having her along with you and singing
அங்கு ஓர் பால் மதியம் சூடி நின்றாய்
you wore on your caṭai a crescent as white as the milk
அடியேனை அஞ்சாமைக் குறிக்கொள்வதே
Let you take particular care about me so that I, your serf, may not be afraid of death and birth and be assured attaining bliss.

முன்னே படவும் புரம் மூன்றும் அம்பினால் எரித்துவிட்டாய்
you completely burnt the three cities by an arrow, to be destroyed
ஓர் குஞ்சரத்தை உமையாள் நகுக்கு எய்த உரித்துவிட்டாய்
-you did flay the skin of an elephant to make Umaiyāḷ tremble with fear
கங்கை வார் சடைமேல் பரித்து விட்டாய், தரித்து விட்டாய்
you definitely bore on your long catai Kaṅkai and made it stay there
அடியேனைக் குறிக்கொண்டு அருளுவதே
condescend to guard taking particular care of me who am your protege

{$} பழனத்து அரசே
the king in Paḻaṉam
(1) முன்னியும் உன்னை முனைத்தன மூ எயிலும் உடனே மன்னியும் அங்கும் இருந்தனை
you were there permanently burning at the same time the three forts which opposed you coming against you and spreading themselves everywhere
மாயமனத்தவர்கள் பன்னிய நூலின் பரிசு அறிவாய்
you know the nature of the works done by deceitful persons with great skill
உன்னியும் உன் அடியேனைக் குறிக்கொண்டருளுவதே
Let you take particular care about me, your protege, thinking of me

படைத்தான் தலையை இன்பனாய் இருந்தே ஏய்ந்து அறுத்தனை
you cut off the head of the creator (Piramaṉ) though you were the source of pleasure, your mind thinking it to be fit.
காமனைக் கண்ணினால் அன்று காய்ந்து அறுத்தாய்
you destroyed by your frontal eye, in the distant past, kāmaṉ (cupid)
காலணையும் பாய்ந்தறுத்தாய்
you destroyed Kālaṉ also, pouncing upon him.
என் பழவினை நோய் ஆய்ந்து அறுத்தாய்
you destroyed all my karmam-s by reducing their vehemence
அடியேனைக்குறிக் கொண்டருளுவதே
Let you guard me who am your protege taking great care about me.

மற்று அங்கு ஓர் (1) மால் ஒருபாகம் மகிழ்ந்து உடனே உற்றுவைத்தாய்
having bestowed your love you placed Māl on one half with joy.
உமையாளொடும் கூடு (2) பரிசு எனவே பற்றிவைத்தாய்
you caught hold of Umai and kept her in your half so as to be united with her.
அங்கு ஓர் பாம்பு ஒருகை சுற்றிவைத்தாய்
you had a cobra encircling on one hand.
அடியேனைக்குறிக்கொண்டருளுவதே
Let you guard me who am you protege taking great care about me

ஊரினின் தாய் ஒன்றி நின்று விண்டாரையும் ஒள்ளழலால்போரில்நின்றாய்
you stood in the fore-front of the battle where you destroyed the enemies who jumped from place to place combining with those residents.
பொறையாய் உயிர் ஆவி சுமந்துகொண்டுபாரில் நின்றாய்
you stood in this earth carrying lives of living beings which are a burden to you.
பணிசெய்பவர்கட்கு ஆரநின்றாய்
you stood to be enjoyed to the utmost by those who performed humble services to you

புரிபுன்சடைமேல் ஒர் புனல் அதனைப் போகம் வைத்தாய்
you placed on your twisted caṭai golden in colour, water (kankai) to derive pleasure
மலையான் மடமங்கையை ஆகம்வைத்தாய்; மகிழ்ந்து உடனே பாகம்வைத்தாய்
you kept the young daughter of the mountain in your holy body, as a half feeling happy
உன் பணி அருளால் ஆகம் வைத்தாய்
you granted me this body by your grace to perform manual labour to you.

அடுத்து இருந்தாய்
you were closed by the side of your devotees
அரக்கன்முடி வாயொடு தோள் நெரியக் கெடுத்து இருந்தாய்
you destroyed the arakkaṉ when his ten heads, ten mouths and twenty shoulders were crushed, and sat on the mountain without the slightest trembling.
கிளர்ந்தார் வலியைக் கிளையோடு உடனே படுத்திருந்தாய்
you destroyed those who became your enemies together with their relations
புலியின் உரி தோல் உடுத்திருந்தாய்
you dressed in a tiger's skin flayed from it.
