having destroyed the arakkar who were not able to remove even the attachments.
தக்க வாசம்மிக்க அலர்கள்கொண்டு மதியினால் மால் செய்கோயில்
the temple established by Māl (whose incarnation is Irāmaṉ) by his spiritual knowledge and worshipped by him with suitable flowers of excellent fragrance.
நேசம் மிக்க அன்பினால் நீர் (1) நின்று நாளும் தேசம் மிக்கான் இருந்த திருவிராமேச்சுர(ம்)மே நினைமின்
(people of this world!) you daily meditate upon Tiruvirāmēccuram where Civaṉ who is the effulgent light stays, for a long time, with love born out of excessive affections.

{$} (1) முற்றின நாள்கள் என்றே முடிப்பதே காரணமாய் உற்றவன் போர்களாலே உணர்வு இலா அரக்கர்தம்மைச் செற்றமால் செய்த கோயில் திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தைப் பற்றி
having as a refuge Tiruvirāmēccuram which was established by Māl who destroyed the arakkar who had no intelligence, by severe wars which were the reason for destroying them, as their days came to an end.

my mind!
படர்சடை ஈசன்பாலே நீ பரவு
you pray to the Lord of the universe who has a spreading caṭai.

{$} கடலிடை மலைகள் தம்மால் அடைத்து
blocking the sea with mountains.
மால் கருமம் முற்றி
Māl after having finished the destruction of arakkar.
திடலிடைச் செய்த கோயில் திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தைத் தொடலிடைவைத்து நாவில் நான் சுழல்கின்றேன்
I am distressed in my mind, keeping in my speech having contact with Tiruvirāmēccuram established in the raised ground.
தூய்மை இன்றி
without purity.
உடலிடை நின்றும் பேரா ஐவர் ஆட்டுண்டு
being tossed by the five senses which are in my body and never leave it.

{$} குன்றுபோல் தோள்உடைய குணம் இலா அரக்கர்தம்மைக்கொன்று
having killed the arakkar who had shoulders as strong as hills and had no good qualities.
போர்ஆழி அம்மால் வேட்கையால் செய்தகோயில் திருவிராமேச்சுரமே சென்று நீ தொழுது உய் (கண்டாய்)
save yourself by going to Tiruvirāmēccuram which was established by his desire to remove the sin of killing the arakkar by the beautiful Māl who had a disc used in war, and by worshipping it with joined hands.
நன்று (1) போல் நெஞ்சமே

being excessively valourous.
எயிறு காட்டி
showing his deformed and curved teeth.
விண் உற நீண்ட அரக்கன் கூரம் மிக்கவனைச் சென்று கொன்று
killing the arakkaṉ who was as tall as to touch the sky and who was exceedingly cruel, having gone to his place.
உடன் கடற்படுத்து
and having sunk his body in the sea.
தீரம் மிக்கான் இருந்த திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தைக் கோரம் தவத்தால் மிக்கார் (1) கூடுவார் குறிப்பு உளார்(ஏ)
those who have performed severe penance, and reach Tiruvirāmēccuram where Irāmaṉ of excessive valour stayed, will get their intentions fulfilled

my ignorant mind!
(1) நம்மின் வலம் மிக்கார் ஆர் என்ற அவ் அரக்கர் கூடி
the arakkar who thought, ``who are those that are superior to us in strength'', joining together.
போர்வலம் செய்து
as they fought a severe battle.

மிக்குப்பொருதவர்தம்மை வீட்டி
killing those who attacked him in multitude.
தேர்வலம் செற்ற மால் செய் திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தை
in Tiruvirāmēccuram which was established by Māl who destroyed the strength of the charioteers.
நீ செஞ்சடை எந்தைபாலே சேர்
you reach the side of our father who has a red caṭai.

{$} வாக்கினால் இன்பு உரைத்து
speaking pleasant and good words in their speech.
வாழ்கிலார்தம்மை எல்லாம் போக்கினால் புடைத்து
attacking all the arakkar who were not able to lead a good life, with weapons that took out their lives.
அவர்கள் உயிர்தனை உண்டு
destroying their lives
மால்தான் தேக்குநீர் செய்த கோயில் திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தை நோக்கினால் (1) வணங்குவார்கள் நோய்வினை நுணுகும் (அன்றே)
the diseases and acts of those who look at by the physical and mental eyes Tiruvirāmēccuram the temple established by Māl in the dam across the sea, will be shattered to pieces.

{$} பலவும் நாள் தீமை செய்து
having committed sinful deeds for many days.
பார்தன்மேல் குழுமி வந்து
coming to fight joining in large numbers in this earth.
கொலைவிலார் கொடியர்ஆய அரக்கரைக்கொன்று வீழ்த்த சிலையினான் செய்த கோயில் திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தைத் தலையினான் வணங்குவார்கள்
those who bow their heads before Tiruvirāmēccuram which was established by Irāmaṉ who with his bow killed and made the arakkar fall on the ground who were cruel and had cruel bows.
தாழ்வர் ஆம்
will have humility
தவம் அது ஆம் (ஏ)
that is equal to penance.

{$} நெஞ்சமே
my mind!
கோடிமாதவங்கள் செய்து, குன்றினார்தம்மை எல்லாம் வீடவே சக்கரத்தால் எறிந்து
throwing the disc and killing the arakkar who were deficient in good conduct though they performed penance amounting to crores of years to lose their lives.
பின் அன்பு கொண்டு தேடி மால் செய்த கோயில் திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தை நாடி நீ வாழ்
you live desiring earnestly Tiruvirāmēccuram, the temple established by Māl having sought for it with love, after killing the arakkar.
நன்னெறி ஆகும்(அன்றே)
that is the right path for you.

{$} வன்கண்ணர் வாள் அரக்கர் வாழ்வினை ஒன்று அறியார் புன்கண்ணர் ஆகி நின்று போர்கள் செய்தாரை மாட்டி
causing the cruel arakkar who were hard-hearted and did not know even a little of the acts for the longevity of their lives having only meanness, to die, fighting many battles standing firm.
செங்கண்மால் செய்த கோயில் திருவிராமேச்சுரத்தைத் தங்கணால் எய்த வல்லார் தாழ்வர்ஆம் தலைவன்பால் (ஏ)
those who are able to approach the temple Tiruvirāmēccuram established by Māl of red eyes will stay with the master.

{$} வரைகள் ஒத்தே உயர்ந்த மணிமுடி அரக்கர்கோனை விரைய முற்று(உம்) அற ஒடுக்கி
having subdued quickly and completely the victory of the King of the arakkar who had crowns set with gems and which were similar to mountains in their height.
மீண்டு மால் செய்த கோயில்
the temple which was established by Māl on his return.
திரைகள் முத்தால் வணங்கும் திருஇராமேச்சுரத்தை உரைகள் பத்தால் உரைப்பார் அன்பினால் உள்குவார் (ஏ)
those who are able to recite the ten verses on Tiruvirāmēccuram which the waves worship by throwing pearls, will cherish Civaṉ with love.
