{$} உள்ளத்து ஓர் கொடுமை வைத்துக் கூட்டை வாளா ஓம்பினேன்
I nourished my body without any benefit, having in my mind cruel thoughts.
காம்பு இலா மூழைபோலக் கருதிற்றே முகக்க மாட்டேன்
I am unable to fulfill what I desire like the ladle which has no handle cannot take anything.
பாம்பின் வாய்த் தேரை போலப் பலப்பல நினைக்கின்றேனை ஓம்பி
protecting me who thinks of many things like the frog caught in the mouth of the cobra.
நீ உய்யக் கொள்வாய்
you admit me to save me.

the Lord who has Oṟṟiyūr as his place!

the Lord who has Oṟṟiyūr as his place!
மனம் என்னும் தோணிபற்றி
catching hold of the mind which is the boat.
மதி எனும் கோலை ஊன்றி
fixing the intellect which is like the boatman's pole.
சினம் எனும் கரக்கை ஏற்றி
filling it with the articles of merchandise which is anger.
செறி கடல் ஓடும் போது
when the boat is running in the ocean which is full of water, which is like attachments.
மதன் எனும்(1) பாறை தாக்க
when the rock of cupid dashes against it.
மறியும் போது
when the boat sinks turning upside down.
அறிய ஒண்ணாது
it will be difficult for me to realise you.
உனை உனும் உணர்வை நல்காய்
grant me the spiritual knowledge by which I can realise you within me.
