(2) உள்ளத்த திரிஒன்று ஏற்றி
lighting the wick of the soul which is the hollow of the lamp which is the heart.

will remove the spiritual ignorance of those who can realise him in the proper manner;

if you are overwhelmingly proud, esteeming your worthless body in this world.
விண்ணிடைத் தருமராசன் வேண்டினால் விலக்குவார் ஆர்
who can prevent it if the god of death in heaven, wants to take it away.
பண்ணிடைச் சுவைகள் பாடி ஆடிடும் பத்தர்க்கு என்றும் கண்ணிடை மணியர் (போலும்) கடவூர்வீரட்டனார்
Civaṉ in Kaṭavūr Vīraṭṭam is like the apple of the eye to those pious people who dance singing sweet songs with melody-types.

{$} பொருந்திய குரம்பை தன்னுள்
in the body in which ninety-six ultimate realities are combined.
(1) பொய் நடை செலுத்துகின்றீர்
you are following a false conduct.
ஒருத்தனை உணர மாட்டீர்
you have no ability to realise Civaṉ who has no equal.
உள்ளத்தில் கொடுமை நீக்கீர்
you do not remove from your hearts cruel thoughts.
(2) வருத்தின களிறுதன்னை வருத்துமா வருத்தவல்லார் கருத்தினில் இருப்பர் (போலும்) கடவூர் வீரட்டனார்
Civaṉ in Kaṭavūr vīraṭṭam will dwell in the thoughts of those who can inflict pain to the five senses which gave trouble to them, in the proper way to cause sufferings to them.

having the attachment towards a desired thing in the mind; worshipping with buds and flowers.

மாயத்தை அறியமாட்டேன்
I am incapable of understanding truth through the illusion.
மையல்கொள் மனத்தனாகிப் பேய் ஒத்துக் கூகை ஆனேன்
I was like a rock-horned owl and like a pēy, my mind being possessed by confusion.

I was just like the proverb that low people will not have clarity unless they are beset with difficulties.

giving up the relationship with the women who have eyes like the carnatic carp.
சிவனுக்கு அன்பாய்
cherishing Civaṉ with love
பாலும் நல்தயிர் நெய்யோடு பலபல ஆட்டி
bathing with milk, good curd, ghee and many other things.
என்றும் மாலினைத் தவிரநின்ற மார்க்கண்டற்காக அன்று காலனை உதைப்பர் போலும் கடவூர் வீரட்டனார்
Civaṉ in Kaṭavūr vīraṭṭam will kick the god of death to save markkaṇtaṉ who was always wishing his confusion to become extinct, when he was about to complete his sixteenth year.

முந்து உரு இருவரோடு மூவரும் ஆயினாரும்
assumed the forms of Ayaṉ and Ari, which are prominent and was himself Uruttiraṉ, Makērcaṉ and CatāCivaṉ.
இந்திரனோடு தேவர் இருடிகள் இன்பம் செய்ய
when the celestials along with Intiraṉ and sages to make Civaṉ feel happy by worshipping him.
வந்து இருபதுகள் தோளால் எடுத்தவன் வலியை வாட்டி
having destroyed the strength of Irāvaṇaṉ who lifted Kayilai having approached it, by his twenty shoulders,

கந்திருவங்கள் கேட்டார்
and listened to the songs sung by him (and granted his grace)
