பரம யோகீ
the foremost among yokīs!
முத்தனே
one who is naturally free from all bonds!
முதல்வா
the first cause!
தில்லை அம்பலத்து ஆடுகின்ற அத்தா
My father who dances in the ampalam in Tillai!
எத்தினால் பத்திசெய்கேன்
In what way can I do devotion?
என்னை நீ இகழ வேண்டா
Please do not be negligent towards me.
உன் ஆடல் காண்பான் அடியனேன் வந்த ஆறு
the reason for coming here is to witness your dance.

{$} காம்பு ஆன தோளி பங்கா
one who has on his half a lady with shoulders like bamboos.
ஒருத்தரால் அறிய ஒண்ணாத்திருவுரு உடைய சோதி
the effulgent light which has a divinely beautiful form which cannot be known by anybody.

கருத்தனாய்ப் பாட மாட்டேன்
I won't sing your praise intentionally
திருத்தமாந்தில்லை தன்னுள் திகழ்ந்த சிற்றம்பலத்தே நிருத்தம் காண வேண்டி
wishing to see the dance you perform in shining Ciṟṟampalam in Tillai having sacred waters.
நான் நேர்பட வந்த ஆறே
I came just in front of you.

{$} கேட்டிலேன்
I have not inquired about you
கிளைபிரியேன்
I have not parted from my relations who are you devotee
கேட்குமா கேட்டியாகில்
if you listen to my words in the proper way they should be listened to attentively.
நெஞ்சினுள்ளே நடுப்பட நின்றன்பாதம் நாட்டினேன்
I established your feet in the centre of my mind.
மாட்டிய நீர் வானை பாயும் மல்குசிற்றம்பலத்தே
in the Ciṟṟampalam which is increasing in fame, and where the veḷai (scabbard fish) leaps in places where there is water.
கூட்டம் ஆம் குவிமுலையாள் கூட நீ ஆடும் ஆறே
I came here (to see) your dance combining with the lady of conical breasts and who is joined with you

{$} செறிவுடைய அடிமை செய்ய
to do to you with restraint a servant's duties
சிந்தையைத் திகைப்பியாதே
without confusing my mind
எந்தை! நீ அருளிச்செய்யாய்
My father! you command me out of your grace.
யாது நான் செய்வது
what is there which I can do of my own accord?

what a wonder it is!
செந்தியார் வேள்வி ஓவாத் தில்லைச்சிற்றம்பலத்தே
in the ciṟṟampalam in Tillai where sacrifices with red fires are ceaselessly going on.

அந்தியும் பகலும் ஆட அடி இணைஅலசும் கொல்லோ
will not both your feet feel exhausted when you dance night and day?

{$} நாளும் கிண்டவா திரிந்து
wandering according to my experience daily.
கருத்தினால் நின்றன்பாதம் கொண்டிருந்து
Having in my idea your feet.
பாடி ஆடிக்குறிப்பினாலே கூடுவன்
I will join with your suggestion by singing and dancing.
வண்டு பண்பாடும் சோலை மல்குசிற்றம்பலத்தே
in the thriving ciṟṟampalam surrounded by groves where bees sing melodies.
இறைவா! எண்திசையோரும் ஏத்த நீ ஆடுமாறே
Lord! your dance to be praised by people from all the eight directions!

{$} பார்த்திருந்து அடியனேன் நான் பாடி ஆடிப்பரவுவன்
I who am your servant shall worship you singing your praise and dancing, fixing my gaze upon you.
மூர்த்தியே என்பன்
I shall call you as one who is manifested in a form.
உன்னை மூவரின் முதல்வன் என்பன்
I shall say that you are the chief among the trinity.
ஏத்துவார் இடர்கள் தீர்ப்பாய்
you will remove the troubles of those who praise you.
கூத்தா! உன் கூத்துக்காண்பான் கூட நான் வந்தவாறே
Dancer! I came with other people to see your dance.

{$} பொய்யினைத் தவிரவிட்டு
Having completely given up falsehood.
புறம் அலா அடிமை செய்ய
to perform internal duties pertaining to a servant.
ஐய! நீ அருளிச்செய்யாய்
Of great one! order me.
ஆதியே ஆதிமூர்த்தி
primordial one! the one first to assume a form

வையகந் தன்னின் மிக்க மல்கு சிற்றம்பலத்தே
in the flourishing Ciṟṟampalam which is superior to other shrines in this world.
பரம! பையநின்ஆடல் காண்பான் நான் வந்தவாறே
I came slowly to see your dance! Supreme one!

{$} மனத்தினார்திகைத்து
my mind having become confused
மாண் பலா நெறிகள் மேலே கனைப்பர்
will proceed in eager haste on worthless ways.
என் செய்கேன்
what shall I do?
கறை அணி கண்டத்தானே
one who has a neck which is adorned with poison
[[In line மனத்தினார் is spoken as a rational being to ridicule it]]
தினைத்தனை வேதம் குன்னாத்தில்லைச் சிற்றம்பலத்தே
in ciṟṟampalam in Tillai where Vētam does not decrease even by a small measure.
நின் இலயம் அனைத்தும் காண்பான் அடியனேன் வந்தவாறே
your servant, came to see all your dances set to measure of time.

{$} நெஞ்சினைத் தூய்மை செய்து நினைக்குமா நினைப்பியாதே
without making me to think of you in the proper way having purified my mind
நீ வஞ்சமே செய்தி
you deceive me
வானவர் தலைவனே
the chief of those who are released from the cycle of birth and death.
மஞ்சு அடை சோலைத்தில்லை மல்கு சிற்றம்பலத்தே
in the ciṟṟampalam flourishing in Tillai surrounded by groves where clouds collect together.
அம் சொலாள் காண
to be witnessed by the lady who speaks beautiful words.
அழக
the beautiful god!
நின்று நீ ஆடுமாறு
you stand and dance (I came to see that)

{$} மண்ணுண்ட மாலவனும்
Tirumāl who swallowed the worlds
மலர்மிசைமன்னினானும்
one who stayed permanently in the (lotus) flower.
விண்ணுண்ட திருவுருவம் விரும்பினார் காணமாட்டார்
were unable to see your divine form which enveloped the sky, though they desired it.
திண்ணுண்ட திருவே
permanent wealth!
தில்லைச் சிற்றம்பலத்தே
in the ciṟṟampalam in Tillai
பரம! பண்ணுண்ட பாடலோடும் நீ ஆடுமாறு
I came to see your dance, singing songs set to melody!
