the two ornaments worn in the ears are a men's ear-ring and a womans' ear-ring.
பெண் ஆண் இரண்டு (கொல், ஆம்) உருவம்
male and female are his two forms.
சிறு மான் மழு இரண்டு (கொல், ஆம்) அவர் (1) எய்தின, (தாம், ஏ)
a young deer and a battle-axe are the two things that he obtained (it would be better reading if it were ஏந்தினதாமே)

his eyes including the third eye on the forehead are three (மூன்று is to be taken as an ordinal and not as a cardinal number).
மூன்று (கொல் ஆம்) அவர் சூலத்தின் மொய்இலை
the strong blades of his trident are three in number.
மூன்று (கொல், ஆம்) கையது கணை, வில் நாண்
the three things arrow, bow and bowstring are in his hands. (கையது should be separately added to கணை, வில், நாண் the subjects are three)
மூன்று (கொல், ஆம்) புரம் எய்தின (தாம், ஏ)
the cities on which he discharged an arrow are three.

the feet of his vehicle, bull, are four in number.

the hoods of the dancing cobra which he wears are five.

அஞ்சு (கொல், ஆம்) அவர் காயப்பட்டான்கணை
the arrows of the cupid who was burnt by the fire issuing from the frontal eye are five.

the five products of the cow are the five in which he bathed;

his great attributes which have no end are eight in number.
[[கோள் இல் பொறியின் குணம் இலவே எண் குணத்தான், தாளை வணங்காத்தலை (Kuṟaḷ, 9) parimēlaḻakar gives the eight attributes : (1) தன்வயத்தனாதல் (2) தூய உடம்பினனாதல் (3) இயற்கை உணர்வினனாதல் (4) முற்றும் உணர்தல் (5) இயல்பாகவே பாசங்களின் நீங்குதல் (6) பேரருள் உடைமை (7) முடிவில் ஆற்றலுடைமை (8) வரம்பில் இன்பமுடைமை; இவ்வாறு சைவாகமத்துக் கூறப்பட்டது). எட்டுக் (கொல், ஆம்) அவர் சூடும் இனமலர்; the group of flowers which Civaṉ wears are eight; they are (1) puṉṉai (2) white yarcum (3) champak (4) nantiyavarttam (5) pātiri (6) kuvaḷai (7) alari (8) red lotus.]]

his shoulders are eight in number;

the portion of the worlds are nine in number; they are called navakaṇtan, their names are: (1) Kīḻpāḷ vitēkam (2) mēlpālvitēkam, (3) veṭapāl vitēkam, (4) tenpāl vitēkam, (5) vāṭapal īrepatam (6) teṉpāl īrepatam (7) vaṭapal paratam (8) teṉpāl paratam and (9) mattima Kāṇṭam.

the cobra that he wears has ten eyes and ten fangs: the five fangs in the upper row and five fangs in the lower row of the mouth.
பத்துக் (கொல், ஆம்) எயிறும் நெரித்து உக்கன
the teeth of Irāvaṇaṉ which were broken and fell down were ten in number.
பத்துக் (கொல், ஆம்) அவர் காயப்பட்டான் தலை.
The heads of Irāvaṇaṉ punished by him were ten.
பத்துக் (கொல், ஆம்) அடியார் செய்கை (தான், ஏ)
