அரநெறியார் அத்தீ நிறத்தார்
Civaṉ in Araneṟi has a beautiful colour like the fire;

முத்தீ அனையது ஓர் மூவிலை வேல் பிடித்து
holding a trident having three blades like the three sacrificial fires.
தெத்தே என முரன்று எம்முள் உழிதர்வர்
he will be moving within me making a sound resembling tettē

Civaṉ in araneṟi
விசயனொடு ஆயது ஓர் வீரமும் பூண்பர்
will wear as an ornament the valour with which he fought with Vicayaṉ.
தாரமும் பூண்பர்
as he went with Umai to grant Vicayaṉ a weapon he has a consort.
தமக்கு அன்பு பட்டவர் பாரமும் பூண்பர்
he will bear the burden of those who cherish him with love.
நற்பைங்கண் மிளிர் அரவு ஆரமும் பூண்பர்
adorns himself with the garland of cobras also which glitter and have greenish eyes and are devoid of their cruelty.

has a deceptive nature towards others.
வண்டு ஆர் குழலாளொடும் துஞ்சவண்ணத்தர்
has the nature of sleeping with a lady on whose tressess of hair bees hum.
துஞ்சாத (1) கண்ணார் தொழும் அஞ்சவண்ணத்தர்
has five colours; he is worshipped by the celestials who do not sleep.

Civaṉ in araneṟi in ārūr
காமனை வீழ்தர விழித்தனர்
opened his frontal eye and burnt Kāmaṉ to fall down as dust.
விண்ணின்று கங்கையை இழித்தனர்
made Kaṅkai to descend from heaven.
ஏத்தினர் பாவம் கழித்தனர்
removed the sins of those who praised him.
கல்சூழ் கடி அரண் மூன்றும் அழித்தனர்
destroyed all the three well-guarded forts built on all sides with stones.

eats his food receiving alms in the white skull.
சுருள் கோவணம் தற்றவர்
wore tightly a rolling loin-cloth.
தம் வினை எலாம் அற அற்றவர் அரநெறி கை தொழ உற்றவர்
worshipped by those, who are completely free from their acts and who appproach araneṟi to worship with joined hands.
ஒளி (1) பெற்றனர் தாமே
and who are people who have got internal illumination.

கூடு அரவத்தர்
wears an anklet that makes sound.
குரல் கிண்கிணி அடி நீடு அரவத்தர்
makes a big sound produced by the ornament kiṇkiṇ worn on the leg.

முண் மாலை இடை இருள் பாடு அரவத்தர்
has the big sound produced by singing in the evening and midnight.
பணம் அஞ்சு பை விரித்து ஆடு அரவத்தர்
wears a cobra that dances; spreading the five hoods in its heads.

if one meditates upon him Civaṉ will appear along with Umayāḷ and bestow bliss

பாடவல்லார்
is capable of singing.
பயின்று அந்தியும் சந்தியும் ஆடுவார்

those who desire earnestly his Araneṟi in Tiruvārūr have the strength to destroy their acts of sin and virtue.

முடிவண்ணம் வான மின் வண்ணம்
the colour of his caṭai is like the colour of the lightning that is produced by the clouds.
தம் (2) மார்பின் பொடி வண்ணம் தம்புகழ் ஊர்தியின் வண்ணம்
the colour of the sacred ash that is smeared on the chest is as white as the colour of his famous vehicle, the bull.
படிவண்ணம் பாற்கடல் வண்ணம்
the colour of his body is the colour of the ocean of milk.
செஞ்ஞாயிறு அடிவண்ணம்
the red sun is the colour of his feet;

without feeling shy, having been blessed with the shade of his feet, which is the sweet-grace of Civaṉ who has red catai resembling gold; night and day.
மன்னவர் கின்னரர் வானவர் தாம் தொழும் அன்னவர்
has such a great person who is worshipped by kings of this world, kiṉṉarar and the celestials.

பொருள் மன்னனைப் பற்றிப் புட்பகம் கொண்ட மருள் மன்னனை எற்றி
crushing the king who had confusion and who seized the vehicle, putpakam, capturing the Lord of wealth, kupēraṉ.
வாளுடன் ஈந்து
granting him name long life and name along with a sword.
கருள் மன்னு கண்டம் கறுக்க நஞ்சு உண்ட அருள் மன்னர் ஆரூர் அரநெறியார்
Civaṉ in ārūr araneṟi who consumed the poison to make the neck which is already black to become still blacker, is the king of benign grace.
