{$} செய்ய பொன் கிளைத்துழித் தோன்றிடும் கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the river Keṭilam in which superior gold appears when the bed is scratched up.
முளைக்கதிர் இளம்பிறை மூழ்கவெள்ளநீ வளைத்து எழு சடையினர்
has a caṭai into which the young crescent of rising rays submerges in the flood which surrounds the caṭai.
மழலை வீணையர்
has a vīṇai of gentle sound.
திளைத்தது ஓர் மான்மறிக்கையர்
holds in his hand a young disporting deer.

{$} கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the Keṭilam.
ஏறினை ஏறினர்
rides on a bull.
ஏழை தன் ஒரு கூறினர்
has on his half a lady.
கூறினர் வேதமும்
revealed the four Vētam-s.
அங்கமும் ஆறினர்
has six Aṅkam-s of the Vētam-s.
ஆறு இடுசடையர்
has a caṭai in which he has placed the river Kaṅkai.
பக்கமும் கீறின உடையினர்
has a dress which is torn on one side.

{$} வெண்ணிலாப் படர்ந்து அழகு எழுதரு சடையில் பாய்புனல் கிடந்து அழகு எழுதிய கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the Keṭilam, who has on his caṭai a white, and spreading crescent whose beauty cannot be drawn to describe it and water which flows and beautifully lying there
விடம்திகழ் கெழுதருமிடற்றர்
has in his neck a poison that shines brilliantly; united with it.
வெள்ளை நீறு உடம்பு முழுதும் அழகு எழுதுவர்
paints his whole body with white sacred ash, to appear beautiful.

{$} கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of Keṭilam.
விழுமணி அயில் எயிற்று வெய்யது ஓர் கொழுமணி நெடுவரை கொளுவிக் கோட்டினார்
bent a high mountain which has big gems, fixing in it a sharp arrow with teeth and superior gems which are coveted by all. (வெய்யது-விரும்பத்தக்கது desired by all).
செழுமணி மிடற்றினர்
has a neck which is like the flawless sapphire.
செய்ய வெய்யது ஓர் கெழுமணி அரவினர்
adorns with a cobra which has a gem, which is red in colour and cruel in nature.

{$} கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the Kaṭilam.
குழுவினர் தொழுது எழும் அடியவர்மேல் வினை தழுவின கழுவுவர்
will cleanse the acts which have joined the devotees who worship him in several groups.
பவளமேனியர்
has a holy form like coral
மழுவினர்
holds a battle-axe.
மான மறிக்கையினர்
has in his hand a young deer.
மங்கையைக் கெழுவின யோகினர்
is a yōki who is united with a lady.
{4:10}__6+
{$} தென்திசைக் கெங்கை (அது) எனப்படும் கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the Keṭilam which is entolled as the Kaṅkai of the south (கங்கை has been changed into கெங்கை to suit alliteration)
அங்கையில் அனல் எரி ஏந்தி
holding a burning fire in the hand.
ஆறு எனும் மங்கையைச் சடையிடை மணப்பர்
is united with a lady who is in the form of a river, in his caṭai.
மால்வரை நங்கையைப் பாகமும் நயம்பர்
desirously gives a portion of his body to the daughter of the big mountain.
{4:10}__7+
{$} மதுகரம் மிழற்ற
when the bees which hum like sweet music.
வழிந்து இழி கிழிந்ததேன் மந்திகள் நுகர்தரும் கெடில வாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the Keṭilam where the female monkeys drink the honey descending overflowing from the honey combs which have burst out.
கழிந்தவர் தலைகலன் ஏந்தி
holding as a vessel the skull of Piramaṉ who had died.
காடு உறைந்து
dwelling in the cremation ground.
இழிந்தவர் ஒருவர் என்று எள்க வாழ்பவர்
exists to be despised as one who is degraded.
{4:10}__8+
{$} கிடந்த பாம்பு அருகு கண்டு அரிவை பேதுற
the lady Umai to be bewildered, seeing by her side the cobra which is lying on the body of Civaṉ.
கிடந்த பாம்பு அவளை ஓர்மயில் என்று ஐயுற
and the cobra lying on the body to doubt her as a peacock on account of her gentleness.
கிடந்த நீர்/ச்சடைமிசைப் பிறையும் ஏங்கவே
the crescent too which is in the caṭai where the water is lying without movement, to be panic-stricken.
கிடந்து தான் நகுதலைக் கெடில வாணர்
Civaṉ dwells on the bank of the Keṭilam has a skull lying, in his caṭai and laughing at these.
{4:10}__9+
{$} கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the Keṭilam.
வெறி உறுவிரிசடை புரள வீசி
flinging the loosened caṭai which has excessive fragrance to roll over his shoulders.
ஓர் பொறி உறு புலிஉரி அரையது ஆகவும்
when there is the skin of a leopard with spots in his waist.
நெறி உறு குழல் உமை பாகம் ஆகவும்
and when Umai who has curly tresses of hair on one half.
கிறிபட உழிதர்வர்
will wander making playful mischief

{$} ஈண்டு நீர்க் கமலவாய் மேதி பாய்தரக் கீண்டு தேன் சொரிதரும் கெடிலவாணர்
Civaṉ who dwells on the bank of the Keṭilam where the buffaloes spring on the lotus in the collected water and as a result of that act the flowers are torn and they pour down honey.
பூண்ட தேர் அரக்கனைப் பொரு இல் மால் வரைத்தூண்டு தோள் அவைபட அடர்த்த தாளினார்
has a toe which he pressed down to crush the shoulders with which the arakkaṉ who had a well-adorned chariot, and who lifted the great mountain.
