விண் அமர் பைம் பொழில் வெள்ளடை மேவிய, பெண் அமர் மேனி எம் பிஞ்ஞகனார்: our god, the destroyer, who has a lady on his form and who is in Veḷḷatai surrounded by green gardens that seem to touch the sky.
சுண்ண வெண்ணீறு அணி மார்பில் தோல் புனைந்து: having adorned on his chest on which is smeared fine powder of white sacred ash, a skin.
எண் அரும் பல் கணம் ஏத்த நின்று ஆடுவர்: dances standing to be praised by many groups of countless numbers.; [[பல் கணம்:
பதினெட்டுத் தேவகணம், பூதகணம், பேய்க்கணம், முனிவர் கணம், உருத்திர பல் கணம்.]]

மல்கு விரை கமழ் தண் பொழில் வெள்ளடை மேவிய அரை மல்கு வாள் அரவு ஆட்டு உகந்தீரே: you who rejoice in making the killing cobra worn on the waist and thriving to dance (spreading its hood) and who reside eagerly in Veḷḷaṭai which has cool gardens from which much fragrance spreads.
திரை புல்கு கங்கை திகழ் சடை வைத்து: having placed Kaṅkai of waves on the bright matted locks of hair.
வரை மகளோடு உடன் ஆடுதிர்: you dance with the daughter of the mountain. (you sport with the daugther of the mountain).

வெள்ளடை மேவிய, சடை அமர் வெண்பிறைச் சங்கரனீரே: oh! Caṅkara! who resides in veḷḷaṭai with eagerness and has a white escent on the matted locks of hair!
அடையலர் தொல் நகர் மூன்று எரித்து: Having burnt the three ancient cities of the enemies.
அன்ன நடை மட மங்கை ஓர் பாகம் நயந்து: and having desired as a half a young lady whose gait can be compared to that of the swan.
விடை உகந்து ஏறுதிர்: you ride upon a bull with gladness

விளங்கிய தண் பொழில் வெள்ளடை மேவிய (எம்பெருமானே): our Lord who is in veḷḷaṭai which has prospering cool gardens!
இளம் பிறை சேர்சடை எம் பெருமானே: our Lord in whose matted locks of hair there is the crescent moon.
வளம் கிளர் கங்கை மடவரலோடு காடு அரங்கு களம் ஆக்கப்பட ஆடுதிர்: you dance using the cremation ground as a stage, along with the lady, Kaṇkai, of increasing beauty.

விரிதரு பைம்பொழில் வெள்ளடை மேவிய (எந்தை பிரானே): our Lord and father who is in veḷḷaṭai which has green and entensive gardens!
எரி மழுவாட்படை எந்தை பிரானே: our Lord and father who has a burning battle-axe as a weapon!
சுரி குழல் நல்ல துடியிடையோடு பொரி புல்கு காட்டிடைப் பொங்கு ஆடுதிர்: you dance with enthusiasm in the cremation ground where the trees and other vegetation have become scorched by excessive heat and are in abundance, with a lady who has curly hairs and a waist comparable to tuṭi (உடுக்கை)

தேன் மலர் மேவிய தண் பொழில் வெள்ளடை மேவிய ஆவினில் ஐந்து கொண்டு ஆட்கு உகந்தீரே: you who are pleased to be bathed in the five products of the cow and are in veḷḷaṭai which has cool gardens in which there are flowers with honey.
காவி அம்கண் மடவாளொடும் காட்டிடைத் தீ அகல் ஏந்தி நின்று ஆடுதிர்: you dance holding a hollow earthern lamp with fire.; [[cf. கரதலத்தில் தமருகமும் கரி அகலும் பிடித்து ஆடி (cuntarar, Kōyil, 1)]]
