{$} மங்கையர்க்கு அரசி
the lady having the name maṅkayarkkaraci.
வளவர்கோன்பாவை
the beautiful daughter of Vaḷavaṉ (Cōḻaṉ)
வரிவளைக்கைம் மடமானி
a lady of great honour wearing on her hands bangles having lines.
பங்கயச்செல்வி
who is as beautiful as the goddess of wealth seated in a lotus.
பாண்டிமாதேவி
the great queen of pāṇṭiyaṉ.
பணிசெய்து நாள்தொறும் பரவ
to praise daily Civaṉ doing service to him.
பொங்கு அழல் உருவன்
Civaṉ who has a form like the bright fire.
பூதநாயகன்
the master of all living being. (the master of the pūtams which are his army)
நால்வேதமும் பொருள்களும் அருளி
revealing the four vetams and expounding their meanings (this is one of the 64 sports of Civaṉ performed in maturai)
அங்கயற்கண்ணிதன்னொடும் அமர்ந்த ஆலவாய்ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the temple which is called ālavāy where he dwells with his consort who has beautiful eyes like the carp (அங்கயற்கண்ணி is the translation of mīnākshi)

{$} வெற்றவே அடியார் அடிமிசை வீழும் விரும்பினன்
one who has the desire to fall at the feet of the devotees without thinking of anything in return.
வெள்ளைநீறு அணியும் கொற்றவன்தனக்கு மந்திரி ஆயகுலச்சிறை குலாவி நின்று ஏத்தும் ஒற்றை வெள்விடையன்
Civaṉ who has a single white bull and who is praised always with delight by Kulacciṟai, the minister of the King (neṭumāṟaṉ) who was wearing his religious mark which is the white sacred ash (this shows that neṭumāṟaṉ was a caivaite before he became a camaṇaṉ; வெள்ளைநீறு அணியும் may be linked with Kulacciṟai).
உம்பரார் தலைவன்
the chief of the celestials in the upper world.
உலகினில் இயற்கையை ஒழித்திட்டு
completely giving up the ways of the world.
அற்றவர்க்கு அற்ற சிவன் உறைகின்ற ஆலவாய் ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the temple ālavāy where Civaṉ who completely gave himself to those who surroundered to him without any attachments?

{$} செந்துவர் வாயாள்
the lady whose lips are like the red coral.
சேல் அன கண்ணாள்
whose eyes like the red carp fish.
சிவன் திருநீற்றினை வளர்க்கும் பந்துஅணை விரலாள்
who holds in her fingers a ball and who cause to increase the white sacred ash.
பாண்டிமாதேவி
the great queen of the pāṇṭiyaṉ.
பணிசெய
to perform services.
(1) பாரிடம் நிலவும் சந்தம் ஆர் தரளம்
pearls which have bright colour and emit rays in this world (Koṟai in pāṇṭiyaṉ territory was famous for pearls).
(2) பாம்பு, நீர், மத்தம், தண் எருக்கம்மலர், வன்னி, அந்தி வான்மதி சேர் சடைமுடி அண்ணல் ஆலவாய்ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the temple, ālavāy where the chief on whose caṭai which is coiled into a crown, cobra, water, cool yarcum flowers, leaves of indian mesquit and the crescent that rises in the sky at sun set are combined together, dwells?

{$} கணங்களாய் வரினும் தமியராய் வரினும் அடியவர் தங்களைக் கண்டால்
is he sees devotees of Civaṉ whether they come in groups or as individuals.
குணம்கொடு பணியும் குலச்சிறை குலாவும் கோபுரம் சூழ் மணிக்கோயில்
the beautiful temple which is surrounded by towers and which is extolled by Kulacciṟai who pays homage to them by his humble nature.
மணம் கமழ் கொன்றை, வாள்அரா, மதியம், வன்னி, வண்கூவினமாலை, அணங்கு வீற்றிருந்த சடைமுடி அண்ணல் ஆலவாய் ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this ālavāy belonging to the god on whose caṭai coiled into a crown are placed majestically fragrant koṉṟai flowers, a killing cobra, a crescent, leaves of indian mesquit, garland of fertile bael leaves and the divine damsel Konkai!

a lady wearing ornaments of superior gold and who is like the swan itself that is seated on the red lotus flower (the goddess of wealth)
திருநுதல் செல்வி
the lady of rank who has a beautiful forehead.
பைஅராஅல்குல் பாண்டிமாதேவி நாள்தொறும் பணிந்து இனிது ஏத்த
the great queen of pāṇṭiyaṉ who has a waist like the serpent with a hod, to praise with pleasure paying homage daily.
வெய்ய வேற்சூலம், பாசம், அங்குசம், மான், விரிகதிர் மழுவுடன் தரித்த ஐயனார்
the father who bears on his hand the cruel trident, the nouse as a weapon, the elephant goad, a deer and a battle-axe which emits rays.
உமையோடு இன்புறுகின்ற ஆலவாய்ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the temple known as ālavāy where Civaṉ feels pleasure in the company of Umai?

{$} நலம்இலர்ஆக, நலம் (அது) உண்டாக, நாடவர் நாடு அறிகின்ற குலம் இவர்ஆக, குலம் (அது) உண்டாக, தவம்பணி குலச்சிறை பரவும்
the devotees praised by the minister, Kulacciṟai whether they do not possess any virtue or possess virtue, whether they have noble birth well-known to the people of the country or do not have noble birth he prostorating at their feet thinking it to be a kind of penance.
கலைமலி கரத்தன் மூஇலைவேலன் கரிஉரிமூடிய கண்டன்
the warrior who covers himself with an elephant's skin, holds a trident of three blades, and holds in his hand a stag.
அலைமலி புனல் சேர் சடைமுடி அண்ணல் ஆலவாய்ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the temple by name, ālavāy where the chief on whose caṭai coiled into a crown the water with plenty of waves stays?

{$} முத்தின் தாழ் வடமும் சந்தனக் குழம்பும் நீறும் தன் மார்பினில் முயங்க
a necklace of pearls and semi-liquid paste of sandal wood and sacred ash to join together in the chest.
பத்தி ஆர்கின்ற பாண்டிமாதேவி
the great queen of pāṇṭiyaṉ who is full of devotion.
பாங்கொடு பணி செயநின்ற
the god who stays, to do service by her in a fitting manner.
சுத்தம் ஆர் பளிங்கின் பெருமலையுடனே சுடர் மரகதம் அடுத்தாற்போல்
like the emerald emitting rays being united with a big mountain of pure crystal quartz.
அத்தனார் உமையோடு இன்புறுகின்ற ஆலவாய்ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the temple known as ālavāy where the father rejoices in the company of Umai! pearls and sandal wood are the two special products of pāṇṭiya nāṭu;

{$} நா அணங்கு இயல்புஆம் அஞ்செழுத்து ஓதி நல்லராய்
Being good people by uttering the mantiram consisting of five letters which adds divinity to the tongue;
[[நாவினுக்கு அருங்கலம் நமச்சிவாயவே (nāvukkaracar, namaccivāyattiruppatikam, 2)]]
நல்இயல்பு ஆகும் கோவணம் பூசிசாதனம் கண்டால்
if he sees the men's loin cloth, sacred ash and distinctive marks of caivaite, and uruttirākkam beads of the devotees.
தொழுது எழு குலச்சிறை போற்ற
to be praised by Kulacciṟai who worships falling at the feet of devotees and then gets up
ஏ அணங்கு இயல்புஆம் இராவணன் திண்தோள் இருபதும் நெரிதர ஊன்றி
pressing down to crush all the twenty shoulders of Irāvaṇaṉ who has the nature of causing suffering by his arrogance.
ஆவணம் கொண்ட சடைமுடிஅண்ணல் ஆலவாய் ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this shrine famous as ālavāy of the chief who has a caṭai coiled into a crown and who took a deed of bondage from his devotees!

{$} மண் எலாம் நிகழ மன்னனாய் மன்னும் மணிமுடிச் சோழன்தன் மகள் ஆம் பண்ணின் நேர் மொழியாள் பாண்டிமாதேவி பாங்கினால் பணிசெய்து பரவ
to be praised by the great queen of pāṇṭiyaṉ, whose words are as sweet as melody types and who is the daughter of maṇtimuṭccōḻaṉ who remains to be famous all over the world.
விண் உளார் இருவர் கீழொடும் மேலும் அளப்புஅரிதாம் வகை நின்ற அண்ணலார்
the chief who remained difficult to be measured by the two (Māl and Piramaṉ) who are celestials though they dug into the earth and flew into space.
உமையோடு இன்புறுகின்ற ஆலவாய்ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the shrine famous as ālavay where the rejoices along with Umai!

{$} தொண்டராய் உள்ளோர் திசைதிசைதோறும் தொழுது தன்குணத்தினைக் குலாவ
those who are devotees to appreciate and speak highly of the qualities, worshipping in every direction.

on seeing them.
நாள்தோறும், இன்புறுகின்ற குலச்சிறை கருதி நின்று ஏத்த
Kulacciṟai who feels joy to praise them daily thinking it to be his duty.
குண்டராய் உள்ளார் சாக்கியர்தங்கள் குறியின்கண் நெறியிடை வாரா ஆண்ட நாயகன்தான்
the Lord of the universe who does not come under the doctrines and religions of the cākkiyar, and the camaṇar who are low people.
அமர்ந்து வீற்றிருக்கின்ற ஆலவாய்ஆவதும் இதுவே
is this the shrine famous as ālavāy where he is seated majestically with desire!

{$} பல்நலம் புணரும் பாண்டிமாதேவி, குலச்சிறை எனும் இவர் பரவும் அந்நலம் பெறுசீர் ஆலவாய் ஈசன் திருவடி ஆங்கு அவை போற்றி
worshipping the holy feet of Civaṉ in ālavāy which has beautiful and good things and which is praised by the two people, the great queen of pāntiyaṉ, in whom many good qualities are combined and Kulacciṟai.
கன்-நலம் பெரிய காழியுள் ஞானசம்பந்தன் செந்தமிழ் இவை கொண்டு
with the help of these songs of refined tamiḻ composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ of Kaḻi which is great by the beautiful workmanship of the walls of fortification.
இன் நலம் பாட வல்லவர் இமையோர் ஏத்த வீற்றிருப்பவர் இனிதே
those who are able to sing with a sweet voice will be seated majestically without any trouble, to be praised by the celestisals who do not wink.
