வரமதே கொளா
not putting to proper use the boons [received] from Civaṉ
உரமதே செயும் புரம் எரித்தவன்
the Lord who burnt the cities which committed only violent acts.
பிரம நற்புரத்து அரன் நல் நாமமே பரவுவார்கள் சீர் நீள் புவி விரவும்
the fame of the devotees who chant the names which do good of the Araṉ who dwells in the good Piramapuram, will spread in the wide world.

சேண் உலாம் மதில்
the wall of fortification which rises into the sky
வேணு மண் உளோர் காண
to be utilized by the people of the celestial world like a ladder made of bamboo, to descend into this world and to be used by the people of the world to see heaven.
(1) மன்றல் ஆர் வேணு நற்புரத் தாணுவின் கழல் (2) பேணுகின்றவர்
those who cherish with love the feet of Tāṇu who is in Vēṇupuram full of fragrance.
ஆணி ஒத்தவரே
can be compared to the touch-needle which is used to test the fineness of gold,

(1) அகலம் ஆர் தரைப் புகலும் நான் மறைக்கு இகலியோர்கள் வாழ் புகலி மாநகர்
in the big city of Pukali where brahmins who won in the recitation of the four Vētam, competing with each other, praised by the people of this wide world.
பகல் செய்வோன் எதிர்ச் சகல சேகரன் அகில நாயகனே
is the Lord of all the world, and has the crescent who is opposed to the sun who creates the day, on his head

துங்க மாகரி பங்கமா அடும் செங்கையான் நிகழ் வெங்குருத் திகழ் அங்கணான் அடி
the feet of the Lord of beautiful and benign looks who is eminent in Veṅkuru and the Lord of red hands who killed the huge elephant to undergo suffering.
தம் கையால் தொழ வினை தங்குமோ
will sins remain with the devotees who worship with their hands?

காணி ஒண் பொருள் கற்றவர்க்கு ஈகை உடைமையோர் அவர் காதல் செய்யும் நல் தோணி வண்புரத்து ஆணி என்பவர்
those who praise god as the touch-needle in fertile and good Tōṇipuram which is loved by those who give lands and money to learned people
தூமதியினரே
possess pure minds.

ஏந்து அரா எதிர் வாய்ந்த நுண்ணிடைப் பூந்தண் ஓதியாள் சேர்ந்த பங்கினன் பூந்தராய் தொழும் மாந்தர் மேனிமேல் வினை சேர்ந்திரா
diseases and other sufferings will not attach to the bodies of people who worship Pūntarāy belonging to the Lord who has his half a lady with cool tresses, adorned with flowers, and a minute waist comparable to the serpent which holds on its heads the world

சுரபுரத்தினைத் துயர் செய் தாரகன் துஞ்ச
to remove by death Tārakaṉ who inflicted suffering on the world belonging to tevar
[[This Tārakaṉ is quite different from the brother of Cūrapaṉmaṉ.]]
வெஞ்சினக் காளியைத் தரும் சிரபுரத்துளான் என்ன வல்லவர்
those who can utter the name of the god in Cirapuram, who created Kāḻi of cruel anger.
சித்தி பெற்றவரே
are people who have acquired the eight mystical powers.

அற்றவர்க்கு உறவும் ஆகி
Acting as relations to poor people
மாநெதி கொடுத்தும்
and granting them abundant wealth.
நீள் புவி இலங்கு சீர்ப் புறவ மாநகர்க்கு இறைவனே என
if one says `The Lord of the city of puṟavam whose fame shines in the wide world'
வினை தெறகிலா
sins that come to inflict sufferings, will themselves die.

சண்பை ஆதியை
the origin of all things who is in Caṇpai
பண்பு சேர் இலங்கைக்கு நாதன் நல்முடிகள் பத்தையும் கெட நெரித்தவன்
and the one who pressed down the ten beautiful heads of the ruler of Ilaṅkai who did not possess any good quality.
[[பண்பு is here used in the ironical sense;]]

தொழுமவர்களை வினை சாதியா
sins will not afflict those who worship him.

ஆழி அங்கையில் கொண்ட மால் அயன் அறிவு ஒணாதது ஓர் வடிவு கொண்டவன்
the god who assumed a form which could not be known by Māl who holds a discuss in his palm, and by Ayaṉ.
காழி மாநகர் கடவுள் நாமமே கற்றல் நற்றவமே
Learning to utter the name of the god who is in the big city of Kāḻi is itself equal to penance that will lead one from the bondage of birth
[[நற்றவம்: penance performed with the intention of freedom from the cycle of birth and death.]]

விச்சை ஒன்று இல்லாச் சமணர் சாக்கியப் பிச்சர் தங்களைக் கரிசு அறுத்தவன்
God who completely destroyed the mischief of the mad cākkiyar, and camaṇar who had no spiritual wisdom worth the name even in a small measure

கொச்சை மாநகர்க்கு அன்பு செய்பவர் குணங்கள் கூறுமின்
(people of this world!) always praise the good qualities of people who fix their love on the big city of Koccai.

கழுமலத்தினுள் கடவுள் பாதமே கருது ஞானசம்பந்தன் இன் தமிழ் வல்லவர்க்கு
on those who are able to recite all the sweet Tamiḻ verses by Ñāṉacampantaṉ who always thinks only about the feet of the god in Kaḻumalam.
முக்கண் எம் இறை இன்பமே தரும்
the Lord of three eyes will bestow happiness only.
