{$} படியுள் ஆர் விடையினர்
Civaṉ has a bull that lives in this world.
பாய் புலித் தோலினர்
has the skin of a tiger that springs upon its prey
[[பாய்: an epithet denoting [the tiger's] quality when it was alive]]
பாவநாசர்
destroys all sins.
[[or dwells in a shrine called பாவநாசம்]]
பொடி கொள் மா மேனியர்
has a big body on which holy ash is smeared.
பூதம் ஆர் படையினர்
has an army of pūtams.
பூணநூலர்
wears a sacred thread on his chest
கடி கொள் மாமலர் இடும் அடியினர்
has feet on which the devotees place big and fragrant flowers.
பிடி நடை மங்கையோடும் அடிகளார் அருள் புரிந்து இருப்பிடம் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
Amparmākāḷam is the place where he dwells granting grace, along with a young lady whose gait is like that of the female elephant.

{$} கையில் (1) மா மழுவினர்
Civaṉ holds a big battle-axe in his hand.
கடுவிடம் உண்ட எம் காளகண்டர்
our Lord with a neck which become black due to consuming the cruel poison.
செய்ய மாமேனியர்
has a big red body.
(2) ஊன் அமர் உடை தலைப் பலி திரிவார்
will wander to receive alms holding a broken skull to which flesh is sticking.
வையம் ஆர் பொதுவினில் மறையவர் தொழுது எழ நடம் அது ஆடும் ஐயன்
the father who dances in the hall which is common to the whole world, to be worshipped by the brahmins.
மாதேவியோடு இருப்பிடம் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
is amparmākāḷam is the place where he dwells with goddess parvati.

{$} பரவின அடியவர் படுதுயர் கெடுப்பவர்
Civaṉ destroys the sufferings of the devotees who praise him, have to undergo
பரிவு இலார் பால் கரவினர்
he conceals himself from those who have no love towards him.
கனல் அன உருவினர்
has a form as red as fire.
படு தலைப் பலிகொடு ஏகும் இரவினர்
has the nature of going for begging alms in a dead skull
பகல் எரி கானிடை ஆடிய வேடர்
has a form with which he danced in the cremation ground which scorches like the midday.
பூணம் அரவினர்
wears cobras as ornaments
அரிவையோடு இருப்பிடம் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
is amparmākāḷam where he dwells with a lady.

Civaṉ has smeared himself with holy ash
நீண்ட வார் சடையினர்
has a long and hanging catai

has many weapons.
நிமலர்
is the immaculate god
வெள்ளை ஏற்றினர்
has a white bull.
எரி புரி கரத்தினர்
holds in his hand fire, desiring it
புரத்து உளார் உயிரை வவ்வும் கூற்றினர்
is the god of death to the life of the acurar in the three cities.
கொடியிடை முனிவுற நணி வரும் குலவு கங்கை ஆற்றினர்
has on his head a shining river, Kankai which came with great fore to make Umai who has a waist as slender as a creeper, to feel sulky.
அரிவையோடு இருப்பிடம் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
amparmākāḷam is the place where he dwells with a lady.

{$} புறத்தினர் அகத்தினர்
Civaṉ is present both outside and inside of everything.
போற்றி நின்று அழுது எழும் அன்பர் சிந்தைத் திறத்தினர்
appear according to the idea of those pions people who praise him and weep out of joy.
செது மதித் தக்கன் தன் வேள்வி செற்ற மறத்தினர்
has the valour to destroy the sacrifice of Takkaṉ who had a mind heading towards destruction

{$} பழக மாமலர் பறித்து இண்டை கொண்டு இறைஞ்சுவார் பால் செறிந்த குழகனார்
the youth who is intimate with those who bow before him preparing a circlet by gathering big flowers without even a day's break.
குணம் புகழ்ந்து ஏத்துவார் பலர் கூட நின்ற கழகனார்
who is in the assemblage of many people who praise his good qualities.
கரி உரித்து ஆடுகங்காளர்
who puts on the complete skeleton and dances out of joy having flayed an elephant.
நம் காளி ஏத்தும் அழகனார்
our beautiful god who is praised by Kāḷi.
அரிவையோடு இருப்பிடம் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
is amparmākāḷam where he dwells with a lady, Umai.

{$} சங்கவார் குழையினர்
Civaṉ wears a long men's earring made of conch.
தழல் அன உருவினர்
has a form, as red as fire.
தமது அருளே எங்குமாய் இருந்தவர்
is omnipresent, his grace having spread everywhere.
அருந்த முனிவருக்கு அளித்து உகந்தார்
became eminent by granting spiritual wisdom to sages who did severe penance.
பொங்குமா புணல் பரந்த அரிசிலின் வடகரை திருத்தம் பேணி
desirous of the holy water on the north bank of the river aricil whose surging floods spreads everywhere.
அங்கம் ஆறு ஓதுவார் இருப்பிடம் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
amparmākāḷam is the place where he who chants the skin ankams, dwells.
{3:93}__8+
{$} பொருசிலை மதனனைப் பொடிபட விழித்தவர்
Civaṉ who opened his frontal eye to reduce to ash mataṉaṉ who has a bow with which he afflicts lovers.
பொழில் இலங்கைக் குரிசிலைக் குலவரைக் கீழ் உற அடர்த்தவர்
crushed under the superior mountain, Kayilai, the King of ilaṅkai, which had the famous `acōka vaṉam'.
கோயில் கூறில்
if we mention about his temple.
பொருசிலை நலமணி பீலியோடு ஏலமும் பெருகநுந்தும் அரிசிலின் வடகரை
situated on the north bank of the river aricil which pushes in large quantities cardamon, peacock's feather, the flawless precious stones from the big mountain.
அழகு அமர் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
is the beautiful amparmākāḷam.

{$} வரி அரா அதன் மிசைத்துயின்றவன் தானும் மாமலருளானும்
Māl who slept on a serpent which has lines on its body, and Piramaṉ who is on a big (lotus) flower.
எரியரா
having becoming a fire.
அணிகழல் ஏத்த ஒண்ணா வகை உயர்ந்து
and growing tall so that both could not praise the beautiful feet of Civaṉ.
பின்னும் பிரியராம் அடியவர்க்கு அணியராய்
within easy reach of devotees who cherish him with love, at the same time.
பணிவிலாதவருக்கு என்றும் அரியராய்
difficult of approach to those who have no humility.
அரிவையோடு இருப்பிடம் அம்பர்மாகாளம் தானே
is amparmākāḷam where he dwells with a lady.

{$} சாக்கியக்கயவர் வன்தலை பறிக்கையரும் பொய்யினால் நூல் ஆக்கிய மொழியவை பிழை (அவை) ஆதலில், வழிபடுவீர்!
People who worship Civaṉ! base buddhists and low people of camaṇar who pluck the hair on their heads, have fabricated works containing falsehood and they are faulty.
வீக்கிய அரவுடைக்கச்சையான்
Civaṉ has fastened as a girdle a cobra.
இச்சையானவர்கட்கு எல்லாம் ஆக்கிய அரன் உறை அம்பர்மாகாளமே நீர் அடைமின்
you reach Amparmākāḷam where Araṉ who grants all things to those who love him, dwells.

{$} செம்பொன் மாமணி கொழித்து எழுதிரை வரு புனல் அரிசில் சூழ்ந்த அம்பர்மாகாளமே கோயிலா
having as the temple amparmākāḷam surrounded by the aricil which brings freshes with rising waves which carry away natural gold and precious stones.
அணங்கினோடு இருந்த கோனை
on the master who dwelt with a divine damsel, Umai.
கம்பின் ஆர் நெடு மதில் காழியுள் ஞானசம்பந்தன் சொன்ன
the verses that were sung by Ñāṉacampantaṉ of Kāḻi which has a high wall of enclosure plastered with lime of the conch-shell.
நம்பி நாள்மொழிபவர்க்கு இல்லை (ஆம்) வினை; நலம் பெறுவர் (தாம், ஏ)
to those who recite daily faith, there will be no Karmam; they will receive all good things.
