{$} ஓங்கி மேல் உழிதரும் ஒலி புனற் கங்கையை ஒரு சடைமேல் தாங்கினார்
Civaṉ bore Kaṅkai which is in the form of sounding water and which rose and moved to and fro; on one of his matted hairs.
இடுபலி தலை கலனாக் கொண்ட தம்மடிகள்
the Lord who received the alms offered, using the skull as the bowl.

உமையொடும் பகலிடம் புகலிடம் பைம் பொழில் சூழ் வீங்கு நீர்த்துருத்தியார்
stays in turutti which is surrounded by excessive water and by verdant gardens, during daytime as his place.

{$} தூறு சேர் சுடலையில் சுடர் எரி ஆடுவர்
Civaṉ will dance with a burning fire in his hand in the cremation ground in which shrubs grow thick.
துளங்கு ஒளி சேர் நீறு சாந்தம் என உகந்து அணிவர்
he will besmear himself with joy with the very bright holy ash he would smear sandal paste.
வெண்பிறை (1) புல்கு சடைமுடியார்
he has on his matted hairs made into a crown, a white crescent.
நாறு சாந்து இள முலை அரிவையோடு அமர்ந்தபிரான்
the master who is united with a lady havings young breasts on which fragrant sandal paste has been smeared.
ஒருபகல் வீறு சேர் துருத்தியார்
stays during day-time in Turutti which has distinctive excellences;
இரவிடத்து வேள்விக் குடி உறைவர்
he stays in Vēḷvikkuṭi during the night

{$} மழை, வளர் இளமதி, மலரொடு, தலை புல்கு வார் சடை மேல்
on the long matted hair where the skull, flowers, crescent and clouds are in combination.
கழைவளர் புனல் புகக்கண்ட எம் கண்ணுதல் கபாலியார் (தாம்)
the god, our Kapāli who has a frontal eye, who made the water which is helpful for the growth of sugar-cane, stay.
இழைவளர் துகில் அல்குல் அரிவையோடு அமர்ந்த பிரான்
the chief who was united with a lady with a waist on which is worn a saree and ornaments like mēkalai.
ஒரு பகல் விழை(வு) வளர் துருத்தியார்
is in Turutti which kindles the desire to worship him again and again, during day time
இரவிடத்து வேள்விக்குடி உறைவர்
he dwells in Vēḷvikkuṭi during night.

{$} அன கரும்பு வரி சிலைப் பெருதகைக் காமனைக் கவின் அழித்த
Civaṉ destroyed the beauty of Kāmaṉ of noble mind who had such a great bow fastened with bands
[[As Kāmaṉ disturbed the penance of Civaṉ knowing fully well that his end would follow it, in order that the sufferings of the Tēvar might come to an end, he is said to be noble-minded.]]
சுரும் பொடு தேன் மல்கு தூமலர்க் கொன்றை அம் சுடர்ச் சடையார்
he has a bright catai on which pure koṉṟai flowers are worn and on which honey and bees are profuse
அரும்பு அன வனமுலை அரிவையொடு அமர்ந்த பிரான்
The chief who was united with a lady with beautiful breasts like lotus buds

ஒரு பகல் விரும்பு இடம் துருத்தியார்
he is in Turutti, which place he desires, during daytime.
இரவு இடத்து வேள்விக்குடி உறைவர்
he will dwell in Vēḷvikkuṭi during night.

{$} வளம் கிளர் மதியமும் பொன் மலர்க் கொன்றையும் வாள் அரவும் களம் கொளச் சடையிடை வைத்த எம் கண்ணுதற் கபாலியார் (தாம்)
our Kapāliyār who has a frontal eye and places on his caṭai a crescent with increasing excellence, golden flowers and a shining cobra having provided for them.
துளங்கு நூல் மார்பினர்
has on his chest a sacred thread which moves to and fro.
அரிவையொடு அமர்ந்த பிரான்
the chief who was united with a lady.
ஒரு பகல் விளங்கு நீர்த்து துருத்தியார்
is in Turutti which has clear water, during daytime
இரவிடத்து வேள்விக்குடி உறைவர்
He will stay during night in Vēḷvikkuṭi.

{$} அடு புலி பொறி உலாம் உரிவையர்
Civaṉ who has a skin of a killing tiger, on which there are stripes.
வரி அரா பூண்டு இயங்கும் நெறி உலாம் பலி கொளும் நீர்மையர்
has the habit of receiving alms wandering in the street having adorned himself with cobras having lines
சீர்மையை நினைப்பு அரியர்
he has a greatness which it is difficult even to think.
மறி உலாம் கையினர்
has on his hand a young deer.
மங்கையொடு அமர்ந்த பிரான்
who is united with a lady
ஒரு பகல் வெறி உலாம் துருத்தியார்
stays in Turutti in which fragrance moves, during daytime
இரவிடத்து வேள்விக்குடி உறைவர்
he will stay in Vēḷvikkuṭi during night.

{$} புரி தரு சடையினர்
Civaṉ has a twisted caṭai
புலி உரி அரையினர்
wears in the waist a tiger's skin.
பொடி அணிந்து
smears himself with the holy ash.
திரிதரும் இயல்பினர் திரிபுரம் மூன்றையும் தீவளைத்தார்
he burnt with fire that surrounded the three cities of the acurar who were wandering everywhere
[[திரிபுரம் simply means புரம் as it is followed by மூன்று and திரிதரும்]]
வரிதரு வன முலை மங்கையொடு அமர்ந்தபிரான்
the chief who is united with a young lady of beautiful breasts on which are found lines of sandal paste.
ஒரு பகல் விரி தரு துருத்தியார்
stays in extensive Turutti during daytime.
இரவிடத்து வேள்விக்குடி உறைவர்
will stay in Vēḷvikkuṭi during night.

{$} நீண்டு இலங்கு அவிர் ஒளி நெடு முடி அரக்கன்
Arakkaṉ (Irāvaṇaṉ) who had a tall crown which shone brightly to a great distance due to the precious stones set in it.
இ நீள் வரையைக் கீண்டு இடந்திடுவன் என்று எழுந்தவன் ஆள் வினை கீழ்ப்படுத்தார்
Civaṉ subdued his efforts when he rose saying I shall dislodge and uproot this high mountain.
நூல் பூண்ட மார்பினர்
wears on the chest a sacred thread.
அரிவையொடு அமர்ந்த பிரான்

{$} கரை கடல் அரவனைக் கடவுளும் தாமரை நான் முகனும்
the Māl who is sleeping on the bed of a serpent in the roaring sea and the Iramaṉ of four faces seated in the lotus.
குரைகழல் அடி தொழ
in order to make them worship the feet wearing jingling anklets, giving up their pride.
கூர் எரி என நிறம் கொண்டான்
Civaṉ who had the form of a big fire.
வரை கெழு மகளொடும் பகலிடம் புகலிடம்
the place of refuge during day along with the daughter of the mountain.
வண் பொழில் சூழ் விரை கமழ் துருத்தியார்
is Turutti which spreads fragrance and is surrounded by gardens of good products.
இரவிடத்து வேள்விக்குடி உறைவர்
he will stay in Vēḷvikkuṭi during night.

{$} அயமுக வெயில் நிலை அமணரும் குண்டரும் சாக்கியரும்
the amaṇar who do penance standing in the hot sun which is as scorching as the red hot iron, house holders among them, and followers of buddha.
நயமுக உரையினர்
will speak words with pretended love.
நகுவன சரிதைகள் செய்து உழல்வார்
they will wander spreading fabricated stories that deserve only ridicule.

கயல் அன வரி நெடுங் கண்ணியொடு அமர்ந்த பிரான்
the chief who is united with the lady who has long eyes with lines in them and are comparable to carp (a kind of fish)
ஒரு பகல் வியல் நகர்த் துருத்தியார்
stays in the extensive city of Turutti during daytime.
இரவிடத்து வேள்விக்குடி உறைவர்
He will stay in Vēḷvikkuṭi during night.

{$} ஒண் உலாம் ஒலி கழல் ஆடுவார் அரிவையொடு உறைபதியை
on the places where Civaṉ who dances wearing bright and jingling anklets and resides with a lady.
விண் உலாம் விரி பொழில் விரை மணல் துருத்தி வேள்விக்குடியும்
which are Turutti of fragrant sand and a spreading garden which rises up to touch the sky, and Vēḷvikkuṭi
நண் உலாம் புகலியுள் அருமறை ஞானசம்பந்தன் சொன்ன பண் உலாம் அருந்தமிழ் பாடுவார் பழி இலர்
those who sing the rare Tamiḻ verses composed with music, by Ñāṉacampantaṉ who knows the abstruse Vētam and is living in Pukali which gives refuge to all, and dance out of extasy, are without blemish.
