{$} மட்டு ஒளி விரிதரு மலர் நிறை சுரி குழல் மடவரல் பட்டு ஒளி மணி அல்குல் உமை அமை உரு ஒரு பாகமா
having the proper form of Umai who has a waist which wears a silk cloth and has a brilliant girdle set with shining precious stones, the lady with a curly hair in which flowers which have fragrance and spread brilliance are filled.
கட்டு ஒளிர் புனலொடு கடி அரவுடன் உறை முடிமிசை விட்டு ஒளிர் உதிர் பிதிர் மதியவர் பதி 1. விழிமிழலையே
vīḻimiḻalai is the place of Civaṉ on whose head the shining water is arrested along with a fearful cobra that dwells there, has a crescent which sheds its rays intermittently

{$} 1. ஒள் நிற வரி வளை நெறிகுழல் எழில் மொழி இள முலைப் பெண் உறும் உடலினர்
Civaṉ has in his body a lady who has immature breasts, beautiful words, curly tresses of hairs and wears very bright bangles with lines on them.
கடல் விடம் மிடறினர்
has in his neck poison that rose in the ocean.
கண் உறு நுதலினர்
has a frontal eye
கடியது ஒர் விடையினர்
has a bull of quick gait.
கனலினர்
holds fire in his hand.
விண் உறு பிறை அணி சடையினர் பதி வீழிமிழலை
vīḻimiḻai is the place of Civaṉ who adorns his head with a crescent that shines in the sky.

{$} மைத்தகு மதர் விழி மலைமகள் உரு ஒரு பாகமா வைத்தவர்
Civaṉ who placed the body of pārvati who has proud eyes, made beautiful being coated with collyrium.
மதகரியுரிவை செய்தவர்
flayed the frenzied elephant.
தமை மருவினார் தெத்தென இசை முரல் சிரிதையர்
has a conduct which is praised with music with measure of time by those who approached him.

(1) திகழ்தரும் அரவினர்
has a glittering cobra.
வித்தக நகுதலை உடையவர் இடம் விழிமிழலையே
vīḻimiḻalai is the place of Civaṉ who has a skilful laughing skull.

{$} செவ்வழல் என நனி பெருகிய உருவினர்
Civaṉ has a form like the red fire which is very much increasing (in size).
செறிதரு கவ்வு அழல் அரவினர்
has a biting and poisonous cobra which is tied to the waist.
கதிர் முதிர் மழுவினர்
has a battle-axe which is exceedingly bright.
தொழு இலா மு அழல் நிசி சரர்விறல் அவை அழிதர
to destroy the strength of the three angry acurar who did not worship Civaṉ.
முதுமதிள் வெவ்வழல் கொள நனி முனிபவர் பதி வழிமிழலையே
vīḻimiḻalai is the place of Civaṉ who grew very much enraged so that hot fire might engulf the old forts. (நிசிசரர் acurar who move about during night)

{$} பைங்கணது ஒரு பெருமழலை வெளேற்றினர்
Civaṉ has a big white bull tender in age with eyes fuming with anger

பலி எனா எங்கணும் உழிதர்வர்
will wander everywhere saying give me alms.
அம்கணர்
looks with kindness at his devotees.
இமையவர் தொழுது எழும் இயல்பினர்
the devotees who are fit to be worshipped by the celestials who do not wink.
அமரர்கள் அடியிணை தொழுது 1. எழ
and the immortals to worship his two feet.
ஆரமா வெங்கண அரவினர் உறைதருபதி விழிமிழலையே
Vīḻimiḻalai is the place where Civaṉ who wears cobras with fiery eyes as garlands, dwells.

{$} பொன் அன புரிதரு சடையினர்
Civaṉ has a interwining caṭai which is golden in colour.
பொடி அணி வடிவினர்
smears on his body holy ash.
உன்னினர் வினையவை களைதலை மருவிய ஒருவனார்
the unequalled one who is in the habit of completly removing the Karmams which are like weeds, of those who meditate on him.
தென்னென இசை முரல் சரிதையர்
has the conduct of singing with the sound teṉṉeṉa

திகழ் தரு மார்பினில் மின் என மிளிர்வது ஓர் அரவினர் பதி விழிமிழலையே
vīḻimiḻalai is the place of Civaṉ who has a cobra which is gleaming like lightning in the shining chest.

{$} அரை அக்கினொடு அரவு (பூண்டு)
having adorned his waist with a cobra and conch-beads.
அணி திகழ் ஒளியது ஓர் ஆமை பூண்டு
having adorned his chest with a beautiful and lustrous shell of a tortoise.
[[பூண்டு should be linked with அரவு also;
என்பொடு கொம் பொடு ஆமை இவை மார்பு இலங்க (campantar, Kōḷaṟu patikam, 2)]]
மலிதலை கலன் என இடு பலி
holding the large skull as the bowls to receive the alms placed in it.
இக்கு உக ஏகுவர்
will go speaking such sweet words that even the juice of sugar-cane, appears insipid when compared to them.
கொக்கரை, குழல், முழ விழவொடும் இசைவதொர் சரிதையர்
has a conduct which is combined with festivals in which Kokkari, flute and muḻavu are played.
மிக்கவர் உறைவது விரைகமழ் பொழில் விழிமிழலையே
vīḻimiḻalai which has gardens which spreads their fragrance, is the place where Civaṉ who has no superior to him, dwells.

{$} மலை பாதம் ஓர் விரல் உற
fixing one toe of the foot in the mountain, Kayilai.
அடர் பல தலை நெரிதர
broke the ten heads which were close to each other.
பூதமொடு அடியவர் புனைகழல் தொழுது எழு புகழினர்
has such a fame that his feet which are adorned with Kaḻal are praised by the pūtams and devotees.
ஓதமொடு ஒலி திரை படுகடல் விடம் உடை மிடறினர்
has in his neck poison which rose in the ocean where noisy waves and tides occur.
வேதமொடு உறுதொழில் மதியவர் பதி விழிமிழலையே
vīḻimiḻalai is the place where wise people (brahmins) perform the duties prescribed for them in addition to chanting the vētams.

{$} நீர் அணி மலர் மிசை உறைபவன்
Piramaṉ who stays on the lotous which lends beauty to the water (நீர் அணி : a generic epithet)
நிறை கடல் உறு துயில் நாரணன் என இவர் இருவரும்
and nāraṇaṉ who sleeps in the ocean full of water; these two persons.
நறுமலர் அடி முடி ஓர் உணர்வினர் செலல் உறல் அரும் உருவினோடு ஒளி திகழ் வீரணர் உறைவது
the place where the brave hero who has a lustrous body which cannot be reached by those two who serched the feet which are like fragrant flowers and the head, though they determined to find them.
வெறி கமழ் பொழில் விழிமிழலையே
is vīḻimiḻalai which has gardens from which fragrance spreads.

{$} இடு பலி இனிது என இச்சையர்
with an inclination that the alms given is good.
படுதலை மகிழ்வது ஓர் பிச்சையர்
receives with joy the alms in the dead skull.
பெருமையை இறை பொழுது அறிவு என உணர்வு இலர்
though he is partial to begging alms his greatness could not be comprehended even for a moment; though one can say I shall measure his greatness.
மொச்சைய அமணரும் முடைபடு துகிலரும் அழிவது ஓர் விச்சையர் உறைவது
the place where Civaṉ who has the magic power which cause destruction of the amaṇar who have a body odour and buddhists wearing a cloth giving an offensive smell.
விரைகமழ் பொழில் விழிமிழலையே
is vīḻimiḻalai which has gardens from which fragrance spreads.

{$} உன்னிய அருமறை ஒலியினை முறைமிகு பாடல் செய் இன்னிசையவர் உறை எழில் திகழ் பொழில் விழிமிழலையை
about vīḻimiḻalai which has beautiful and excellent gardens and where brahmins who, with their knowledge of music, convert into the proper way songs with the notes in chanting vētam which are considered to be revealed by Civaṉ.
மன்னிய புகலியுள் ஞானசம்பந்தன் வண் தமிழ் சொன்னவர் துயர் இலர் வியன் உலகு உறுகதி பெறுவர்
those who recited the tamiḻ verses containing many truths, and composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ who is a resident of pukali which knows no destruction, will have no sufferings in the world and attain existence in the extensive world of bliss.
