learned people say it is the place of our father and master who enters into every house to receive alms from the ladies, on this earth.
மல் பொலி கலிக்கடல் மலைக்குவிடு எனத்திரை கொழித்த மணியை வில் பொலி நுதல் கொடி இடைக் கணிகைமார் கவரும் வேதவனம் (ஏ)
is Vētavaṉam where the young unmarried women of the fishermen who have waists as slender as a creeper, and beautiful forehead like the bent bow gather eagerly the pearls washed and sifted by the waves which rise like the peaks of the mountains in the roaring sea abundant with the wealth of the sea, on this earth.

planting the big mountain, mantaram which is golden in colour as the churning rod in the roaring ocean of milk long ago (all edition have பவப்புணரி as the reading. It means the ocean of birth. I think it is a scribal error, it should be பயப்புணரி)
அரவினைக் கொண்டு கயிறின் கடைய வந்த விடம் உண்ட குழகன் இடம் ஆம்
The place of the youth who consumed the poison that rose when the tevar and acurar churned the ocean using the serpent, Vācuki as the cord for turning the churning staff.
வண்டு இரை நிழல் பொழிலில் மாதவியின் மீது அணவு தெண்றல் வெறி ஆர் வெண்திரைகள் செம்பவளம் உந்து கடல் வந்த மொழி வேதவனம் (ஏ)
is Vētāvaṉam which has fame, as the red coral is pushed by the white-crested waves which are full of the fragrance of the balmy southern breeze which approached the common delight of the woods which is growing in the garden which affords shade and where bees hum producing a great noise.

vētāvaṉam where the sweet sound of beautiful ladies of long and fragrant tresses of hair, with musical instruments, the sound of bright paṭakam and strong conch used in worship daily, the bustle of the movement of temple car in the streets which have tall storeys, combine to make a sweet sound.
கார் இயல் மெல் ஓதி நதிமாதை முடிவார் சடையில் வைத்து
placing the lady who is in the form of a river [and] who has tresses of hair like the black cloud, in the long caṭai coiled into a crown.
மலையார்நாரி ஒரு பால் மகிழும் நம்பர் உறைவு என்பர்
people say that it is the residence of Civaṉ who rejoices in having a lady, daughter of the mountain, on one half.

கத்திரிகை, (1) துத்தரி, கறங்கு துடி, தக்கையொடு, இடக்கை, படகம் எத்தனை உலப்பில் கருவித்திரள் அலம்ப
as the group of ever so many countless instruments such as kattirikai, tuttari, the sounding drum tapering in the middle like the sun-glass, takkai, iṭakkai and paṭakam produce music as accompaniments.

the catai on which the crescent that shines in the evening, the shining cobra, flowers of koṉṟai are crowded to rotate standing on end.
காலையில் எழுந்த கதிர் தாரகை மடங்க அனல் ஆகும் அரன் ஊர்
the place of araṉ who dances in fire, to cause the sun that rises in the morning and the stars to diminish in brightness (sun is compared to the colour of his body; stars to the colour of the sacred ash smeared on the body.)
சோலையின் மரங்கள்தொறும் மிண்டி இனவண்டு மதுஉண்டு இசை செய்ய
the swarms of bees to hum like music drinking the honey thronging by going to every tree in the garden.
வேலை ஒலி சங்கு திரை வங்க சுறவம் கொணரும் வேதவனம் (ஏ)
is vētāvaṉam where the waves of the ocean bring sounding conches, sharks which are capable of wrecking ships.

bending a long bow to destroy the strong fortifications of the avuṇar who had deceptive minds, in the distant past.

is the place of Civaṉ who is the first cause of all things and who is the superior tevaṉ to all other immortals who have subdued the five senses internally.
கிஞ்சுக இதழ்க் கனிகள் ஊறிய செவ்வாயவர்கள் பாடல் பயில
when the ladies with red lips which are like the petals of indian coral tree and words which are like sweet springs, are practising music.
வஞ்சு அகம் இயக்கர் முனிவக்கணம் நிறைந்து மிடை வேதவனம் (ஏ)
is vētavaṉam where iyakkar who are excessively wonderful and the groups of sages are full and crowded.

presessing firmly with the toe the arakkaṉ who was the personification of obstinacy and who had ten heads wearing crowns.

கருணை வைத்தவன் இடம்
the place of Civaṉ who bestowed grace on him.
பல துயர் கெடுத்தலை நினைந்து
thinking of destroying many kinds of sufferings.
அறம் இயற்றுதல் கிளர்ந்து
becoming prominent in doing charity
புலவாணர் வறுமை விடுத்தலை மதித்து
highly valuing removal of poverty from the people who make a living by their knowledge.
நிதி நல்குமவர் மல்கு பதி வேதவணம் (ஏ)
is vetavaṉam where liberal persons who give large amounts of money are increasing.

the place of araṇ who has greatness which was not known to Piramaṉ who is seated on a fragrant flower and tall Māl, and which the ignorant amaṇar and tērar (buddhists) could not come anywhere near not being ashamed to slander it.
காசு மணி வார் கனகம் நீடு கடலோடு திரை வார் துவலைமேல் வீசு வலைவாணர் அவை வாரி விலை பேசும் எழில் வேதவனம் (ஏ)
is the beautiful vētavaṉam where the fisherman bargain for price by taking in a sweep casting their nets on the particles of water which are thrown by the waves which run in the sea and getting in them precious stones pearls and a great amount of gold.

ñāṉacampantaṉ who was born in the Kavuniya Kōttaran and who is a permanent resident of the city of Kāḻi where the wealth of the sea is available, and a drum by name muravam, is played in a low pitch.
வெந்த பொடி நீறு அணியும் வேதவனம் மேவு சிவன் இன் அருளினால் சந்தம் 2. இவை தண்தமிழின் இன்னிசை எனப் பரவு பாடல்
the songs with which he praised with his great grace Civaṉ, who dwells with desire in vētavaṉam and smears sacred ash of well-burnt fine powder, which have rhythmic movement and sweet music in cool Tamiḻ.
உலகில் உரைகொண்டு மொழிவார்கள் பயில்வார்கள் உயர் வான் உலகமே
those whose will recite in this world with fame, will live in the superior Civalōkam.
