Mayilāṭutuṟai where smoke that is produced by the oblations in the consecrated fire offered by brahmins of established fame, rises above and cover to create darkness in the gardens in heaven.
ஏன எயிறு ஆடு அரவு என்பு வரியாமை இவை பூண்டு இளைஞராய்
having the appearance of a youth, adorning himself with a hog's tusk, dancing cobra, bones, shell of a tortoise, which has lines;

Mayilāṭutuṟai where the female monkeys throw flowers as the waves that come in the river Kāviri that carries in large numbers the black-coloured eagle-wood and very fragrant sandal woods, throw water particles on them

{$} பாளைபடுபைங் கமுகு செங்கனி உதிர்த்திட நிரந்து கமழ் பூவாளை குதிகொள்ள மடல் விரிய மணம் நாறு மயிலாடுதுறையே
mayilāṭutuṟai, where, as the scabbard fish leaps, the green areca-palm trees which have spathes shed their red fruits, and they spread in a row, and where there is fragrance because the petals of the fragrant flowers unfold themselves.
தோளின் மிசை வரி அரவம் நஞ்சு அழலவீக்கி
tying on the shoulder a cobra with lines, its poison to glow;
மிகுநோக்கு அரியராய்
with very rare beauty.
மூளைபடுவெண்தலையில் உண்டு
eating the food in a white skull from which the brain has gone
முதுகாடு உறையும் முதல்வர் இடம் ஆம்
is the place of Civaṉ, the first cause, who dwells in the cremation ground.

{$} காதல்மிகு கவ்வையொடு மவ்வல் (அவை) கூடி வருகாவிரியுள்(ஆல்) மாதர் மறி திரைகள் புகவெறிய வெறிகமழும் மயிலாடுதுறையே
mayilāṭutuṟai where the non-fragrant things also become fragrant as the woman plunge into the rolling waves to bathe in the Kāviri which combines in itself jasmine flowers which people desire, with great noise.
அரிய மறை ஏதம் இலர்
Civaṉ who is spoken in the abstruse vētam-s and who has no blemish
மலையர்மகள் ஆகிய விலங்குநுதல் ஒண் பேதை தடமார்பு (அது) இடமாக உறைகின்றபெருமானது இடம் ஆம்
is the place of the god on whose broad chest the intelligent daughter of the mountain who has a curved forehead, dwells.

மந்திகுதி கொள்ளும் மயிலாடுதுறையே

one can say that it is the old dwelling place of the supreme god who always sings songs which are appropriate to the melodies which are elaborated in the poems, and begs alms.

Mayilāṭutuṟai where the water in which ladies with red lips which have the beauty of thoray caper, and of extreme brilliance which is there continuously, and is extremely fragrant, plunge to bathe

Mayilāṭutuṟai where the flowers of the common delight of the woods (kurukkatti) combines with the beautiful jasmine flowers and spread fragrance everywhere on the southern bank of the Kāviri in which floods arrive with a great roar.
அவ்வதிசையாரும் அடியாரும் உளராக அருள்செய்து அவர்கள் மேல் எவ்வம் அறவைகலும் இரங்கி எரிஆடும் எமது ஈசன் இடம் ஆம்
is the place of our Civaṉ who dances in fire, bestowing his grace on the devotees and other people in those quarters, and taking pity daily on them, their sufferings to become extinct.

கலங்கல் நுரை உந்தி எதிர்வந்த கயம் மூழ்கிமலர்கொண்டு மகிழா
feeling joy taking the flowers by diving into the tanks which are opposite it, by pushing muddy foams.
மலங்கிவரு காவிரி நிரந்து பொழிகின்ற மயிலாடுதுறையே
is mayilāṭutuṟai where the Kāviri comes with eddies, spreads its water and showers its fertility.

preying upon Keṇtai fish for its food.
கெளிறு ஆருடன் இருந்து
and being by the side of Keḷiṟu and āral (kinds of fish)
கிளர்வாய் அறுதல் சேர் வண்டல் மணல் (1) கெண்டி
digging the sand and the silt which are found in the places where water has cut the banks.
மடநாரை விளையாடு மயிலாடுதுறையே
mayilāṭutuṟai where song cranes play.
ஒண்திறலின் நான்முகனும் மாலும் மிகநேடி உணராதவகையால் அண்டம் உற அங்கி உருவாகி மிகநீண்ட அரனாரதுஇடம் ஆம்
is the place of araṉ who grew very tall assuming the form of a column of fire to reach heaven so as not to be found out by Māl and the Piramaṉ of four faces who had strength, after searching for it for a long time.

{$} எழில் ஆர் தென்திரை பரந்து ஒழுகு காவிரிய தென்கரை நிரந்து கமழ் பூ வண்டு அவை கிளைக்க மதுவந்து ஒழுகு சோலை மயிலாடு துறையே
mayilāṭuṟai surrounded by gardens where honey flows when the bees work through the fragrant flowers which spread in a row on the southern bank of the Kāviri in which the clear and rising waves flow straight.
மிண்டு திறல் அமணரொடு சாக்கியரும் அலர் தூற்றமிக்க திறலோன்
Civaṉ who is not affected by the slanderous talks of the deceptive and strong amaṇar and cākkiyar and who has the strength of being beyond the reach of their knowledge.
இண்டைகுடிகொண்ட சடை எங்கள் பெருமானது இடம் என்பர்
learned men say that it is the place of our god whose caṭai is occupied by circlets of flowers.

in the cremation ground where there is the fat of corpses.
நிலம் வானம், மதியாதது ஒரு சூலமொடு
holding a trident which does not mind any warrior worthy of regard in this world and heaven.
பேய்க்கணம் தொழு (1) கபாலி கழல் ஏத்திமிக காதன்மையினால்
out of intense devotion which is the fruit of praising the feet of Kapāli who is worshipped by the groups of pēy.
மணம் தண் மலி காழி மறை ஞானசம்பந்தன்
ñāṉacampantaṉ who knows the vētams and is a native of Kāḻi which has abundant fragrance and coolness.
மயிலாடுதுறையைப் புணர்ந்த தமிழ் பத்தும் இசையால் உரைசெய்வார் பொன்னுலகமே பெறுவர்
those who can recite the ten tamiḻ verses which were dedicated to mayilāṭutuṟai with music, will reach, after death, definitely the heaven itself (பொன்னுலகம் heaven got this name because it is of gold)
