{$} வானவர்கள் தானவர்கள் வாதைபட வந்தது ஒரு (1) மாகடல் விடம் (தான்) அமுது செய்து அருள்புரிந்த சிவன் மேவு மலை தன்னை வினவில்
if one asks about the mountain where Civaṉ who granted his grace by consuming the poison that appeared in the ocean to distress the celestials and a class of demons who are descendants of Taṉu.
ஏனம் (1) இனமானினொடு கிள்ளை தினை கொள்ள எழில் ஆர் கவணினால் கானவர்தம் மாமகளிர் கனகம் மணி விலகு காளத்தி மலையே
is the hill, Kāḷatti, where as the wild pig, herds of deer and parrots eat with avidity ears of millet the big girls of the hunters scare them by throwing gold and gems fixing them in their beautiful stings.

{$} முது சினவில் அவுணர் புரம் மூன்றும் ஒருநொடி வரையில் ஏரிசெய் சதுரர் மதிபொதி சடையர் கங்கரர் விரும்பு மலைதன்னை வினவில்
if one asks about the hill of the able god, who burnt for the fire to rise within a moment all the three cities of the avuṇar with an old angry bow, who conceals the crescent in his caṭai, dispenser of good things.
எதிர்எதிர் வெதிர் பிணைய எழுபொறிகள் சிதற எழில் ஏனம் உழுத கதிர் மணியின் வளர் ஒளிகள் இருள் அகல நிலவு காளத்தி மலையே
is the hill, Kāḷatti, where by the sparks of fire which scatter and which are produced when the bamboos which are against each other rub; and by light of the rays of the gems, which come to the surface when wild pigs dig up the earth by their tusks, shine to dispel darkness.

{$} வல்லை வரு காளியை வகுத்து வலி ஆகி மிகு தாருகனை நீகொல்' என விடுத்து அருள் புரிந்த சிவன் மேவு மலை கூறி வினவில்
if one asks in particular about the hill where Civaṉ who bestowed his grace on the world, by sending the Kāḷi who manifested herself quickly, and telling her duty, you kill tārukaṉ who is proud as he was the embodiment of strength itself.
பல்பல இருங்கனி பருங்கி மிக உண்டவை நெருங்கி இனமாய்க் கல் அதிர நின்று கருமந்தி விளையாடு காளத்தி மலையே
it is the hill, Kāḷatti where the black female moneys which plucked very many big fruits and ate them crowd together as a group and play to make the boulders reverberate their sound.

{$} வேய் அனைய தோள் உமை ஓர்பாகம் (அது) ஆக விடை ஏறி
Civaṉ who rides on a bull having on one half Umai whose shoulders are like bamboos.
சடைமேல் தூய மதிசூடி
who wears a spotless crescent on his caṭai.
சுடு காடில் நடம் ஆடி
who dances in the cremation ground (காட்டில் has become காடில் to suit rhythm)
மலை தன்னை வினவில்
if one asks about his hill.
வாய் கலசமாக வழிபாடு செயும் வேடன்
the hunder Kaṇṇappaṉ who worshipped Civaṉ using his mouth as a water pot to hold water for bathing god.
மலர் ஆகும் நயனம் காய்கணையினால் இடந்து
scooping with the help of a burning arrow his eye resembling flower.
ஈசன் அடி கூடு காளத்தி மலையே
it is the hill, Kāḷatti where he attained the feet of Civaṉ, the Lord of the universe.

{$} மலையின் மிசைதனில் முகில்போல வருவது ஒருமதகரியை மழைபோல் அலறக் கொலை செய்து உமை அஞ்ச உரிபோர்த்த சிவன் மேவுமலை கூறி வினவில்
if one asks in particular the hill which Civaṉ, who killed the elephant having fluid of must which came against him like a cloud that appears on the hill, to roar like the thunder of the cloud, and covered himself with its skin, to frighten Umai, desires to dwell in,
அலைகொள் புனல் அருவி பலசுனைகள் வழி இழிய
the streams with water having waves to descend through the many mountain springs, to the plains.
அயல் நிலவு முதுவேய் கலகலென ஒளிகொள் கதிர் முத்தம் அவை சிந்து காளத்தி மலையே
it is the hill, Kāḷatti where the mature bamboo which stands by the side scatters pearls of bright rays, making a sound Kalakala

{$} பாரகம் விளங்கிய பகீரதன் அருந்தவம் முயன்ற பணிகண்டு
seeing the act of pakirataṉ who was famous in this world and who performed severe penance.
ஆர் அருள் புரிந்து
bestowing his rare grace on him.
அலைகொள் கங்கை சடை ஏற்ற அரன் மலையை வினவில்
if one asks about the hill of araṉ who received on his caṭai Kaṅkai which has waves.
வார் அதர் இருள் குறவர் சேவலில் மடுத்து அவர் எரித்த விறகில் கார் அகில் இரும்புகை விசும்பு கமழ் காளத்தி மலையே
it is the hill, Kāḷatti where the black Kuṟavar kindle fire in their watch-tower which have long paths with fire-wood from which big clouds of smoke of the black-eagle wood spreads their fragrance in the sky.

{$} ஆரும் எதிராத வலி ஆகிய சலந்தரனை ஆழி அதனால் ஈரும் வகைசெய்து அருள் புரிந்தவன் இருந்தமலை தன்னை வினவில்
if one asks about the hill where Civaṉ who bestowed his grace on the world having cut with a discus calantaraṉ who was so strong that no one dared to oppose him in battle.
ஊரும் அரவம்(ம்) ஒளிகொள் மாமணி உமிழ்ந்தவை உலாவிவரலால் கார் இருள் கடிந்து கனகம் என விளங்கு காளத்தி மலையே
it is the hill, Kāḷatti which as the light of the brilliant and big gems spat by the crawling cobras dispel darkness, shines like gold.

{$} எரி அனைய சுரிமயிர் இராவணனை ஈடழிய எழில் கொள் விரலால் பெரிய வரை ஊன்றி அருள் செய்த சிவன் மேவு மலை பெற்றி வினவில்
if one asks about the nature of the mountain where Civaṉ who bestowed his grace after pressing down under the great mountain with his beautiful toe, Irāvaṇaṉ who had curly hairs which were red like fire, to lose his strength.
வரிய சிலை வேடுவர்கள் ஆடவர்கள் நீடுவரையூடு வரலால்
as the mals among the hunters, who have bow with bangages, pass through the high hills.
கரியினொடு வரிஉழுவை அரிஇனம் வெருவு காளத்தி மலையே
it is the hill, Kāḷatti where the elephants, tigers with stripes and groups of lions, fear them.

{$} இ(ன்)னது அளவில் இவனது அடி இணையும் முடி(யும்) அறிதும் என இகலும் இருவர் தமது உருவம் அறிவு அரிய சகல சிவன் மேவும் மலைதன்னை வினவில்
if one asks about the hill where Civaṉ who manifests in a form and whose form could not be known by the two who disagreed with each other, by saying, we will know his twin feet and head within a specified time
புனவர் புனமயில் அனைய மாதரொடு மைந்தரும் மணம் புணரும் நாள் கனகம் என மலர்கள் அணி வேங்கைகள் நிலாவு காளத்தி மலையே

{$} நின்று கவளம் பல கொள்கையரொடு மெய்யில் இடு போர்வையரும் நன்றியறியாத வகைநின்ற சிவன் மேவுமலை நாடிவினவில்
if one asks investigating about the hill which Civaṉ who remained in such a manner that the despicable people of camaṇar who eat mouthful of food in the standing posture and buddhists who cover their bodies with a blanket, could not know his virtue, desires.
குன்றில் மலிதுன்று பொழில் நின்ற குளிர் சந்தின்முறி தின்று
eating the tender leaves of the cool sandal wood trees which grow in the dense gardens which are numerous in the hill.

கன்றினொடு சென்றுபிடி நின்று விளையாடு காளத்தி மலையே
is the hill, Kāḷatti where the female elephants go and play with their calves for a long time.

{$} காடு அது இடமாக நடமாடு சிவன் மேவு காளத்தி மலையை
about the hill, Kālatti which Civaṉ who dances using as his stage the cremation ground, desires.
மாடமொடு மாளிகைகள் நீடுவளர் கொச்சை வயம் மன்னுதலைவன் நாடுபல நீடுபுகழ் ஞானசம்பந்தன் உரை நல்ல தமிழின் பாடலொடு பாடும் இசைவல்லவர்கள் நல்லர்
those who are able to sing the verses composed in refined tamiḻ by ñaṉacampantaṉ whom many regions praise for a long time and who is a permanent chief of Koccaivayam where the mansions with storeys rise high in the sky, to the accompaniment of music, are good people.
பரலோகம் எளிதே
attainment of the superior Civalōkam is easy for them.
